There is a very well kept secret in Catmon, Cebu, known as the Las Flores resort. We stayed there for four weekends during our visit to Cebu in June of this year and although I have been to this particular area of the Philippines many times in the past I have never been introduced to this wonderful establishment. It does sit a little back from the road at a slight angle but this only adds to the effect of privacy in the beautifully kept lawn and grounds. The house itself is a European style building with a large entryway and staircase leading up to most of the rooms. Air conditioning is present through all of the house with individual thermostats in each room. There is an ample sitting area with a Bar and many couches and chairs. TV is also in the main living room and in each of the guestrooms, the dining veranda is at the rear of the house and access is through any of several French window style doors. The menu is excellent and varied with both European and American favorites along with standard Filipino cuisine. I particularly recommend the fish and chips with salt and malt vinegar. The owner, Virginia, sometimes spends time back in her home in Norwich, England but can be found most of the season in Cebu. You may reach her directly at her email address which is mail@lasflorescebu.com or vgillies@yahoo.com. They can also be reached by telephone at 63 32 4309390. Truly the best kept secret in Cebu. We'll be back for sure.

Loved our stay at Las Flores. From the welcome drinks on arrival, to the flowers in our room, nothing was too much trouble for the polite and efficient staff.
Las Flores is a touch of home with the wide verandah, comfortable lounge chairs, books, magazines, games, jigsaws, DVD/CD player, and even a piano!
Spacious rooms make for a relaxing and pleasant space to withdraw, or the lounges in the garden offer the seaview and breeze for a pre-dinner drink.
Food was delicious and thoughtfully presented. What a lovely surprise to find traditional fish and chips in the Philippines! We loved the generous breakfast, with cloth napkins, milk in a jug, teacups and saucers, and English breakfast tea!
Virgie and Ian are friendly and informative hosts. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.
We can imagine organising a group of friends to stay for a fun weekend, enjoying the ambience and hospitality together.

I have just spent a short weekend 2 nights at Las Flores with my 8 year old Daughter who is doing her schooling online and has been locked down in our home in Cebu City for several months. We have stayed here previously with my Husband, it’s a really good place to go to, gets you away from the City crowds and the pollution, an excellent Beachfront Location in a quiet area. We had a de- luxe room with 2 separate beds very comfortable and the price was inclusive of Breakfast. If you’re a little bit adventurous or just looking for a place to relax this place is ideal with food which is some of the Best. Most importantly Health Safety Protocols are in place which makes me feel safe for myself and my daughter.

Ian and Virgina are amazing people. A wonderful couple who bring a Local experience together with European eats. The place is elegant, with Spanish tile, and beautiful wood accents, large beds, and great quiet air conditioning red rooms. We enjoyed most getting to know them and being treated as a part of their family for a week.

It's been 3 years since we last visited beautiful Las Flores, and seeing Virgie and Ian - the owners - was a feeling of 'coming home'. This slice of serene calm so close to Cebu City is our firm choice when looking to treat ourselves.
A gorgeous home, offering wonderful comfort where you truly feel you're staying with friends rather than in a hotel! Rooms are spacious, with small balconies and ocean views, large comfy beds, and the glorious bathrooms come with a rarity in Cebu: a bath tub!
Downstairs in the house you'll find comfy sofas in the relaxing lounge, but we always choose to sit on the wide verandha or in the gardens, enjoying the seaviews.
The fab dining pulls us back again and again. This time we dined on lamb chops, and an amazing hot walnut cake with icecream. Quite a treat in Cebu to find lamb, and my daughter proclaimed it the best meal of the year! And breakfast was equally yummy, with fresh fruits, yogurts, cheese, breads and the option of cooked bacon & eggs.
This is much more than somewhere to stay for a night. The serene atmosphere is so relaxing and you feel pampered, with the comfy rooms and attentive service.
Located in Catmon, it's an easy drive into the City for the day or you can explore the nearby Hot Springs or Cebu Safari Park. So add on a couple of nights to really enjoy your stay - you won't be disappointed!

I was unable to cancel my reservation a month in advance even though it said I could cancel when booked. I never stayed here but beware of cancellation policy. I booked through edreams which has also been a nightmare to deal with. Avoid edreams if booking.

What a charming place to stay! I’ve been to Cebu several times, when I come to visit my wife’s family. I can this time by myself and wanted to have a quiet place to unwind and recover from the jet lag.
It’s everything I hope for and more. Lovely like boutique hotel but with a touch of European fusion. Founded by Ian and his wife they built this place from scratch.
It’s small, only perhaps 6 rooms, but the place has a certain homey yet elegant feel. The food has been stellar! Perhaps the best I’ve enjoyed in Cebu. Every dish is individually prepared and absolutely delicious.
I love the hosts and this place I’ve invited a friend and his wife who was going to pick me up Sunday to come down and share the experience.

Las Flores, a real gem in one of the northern towns in Cebu Province called Catmon! Just by the main highway, it's owned and operated by a lovely British-Filipino couple who also maintain a beautiful abode in the north of London! It's a ten room boutique resort which has a pool just above sea level and a private beach overlooking the island of Camotes! Although one doesn't have to go far in looking for some adventure considering that Catmon boasts of a majestic waterfall, hot and cold springs, two cavernous caves and a mountain with sweeping views of the other towns and neighboring islands! Accessible from the Cebu metropolis by a newly improved concrete highway it also is famed for its delicious native rice cakes baked in the tradition of the ancestors of the locals handed down from generation to generation! However, for those craving for international flavors one can find a variety of delectable gastronomical delights such as German sausages, French bread and the like served and sold by a select number of bakeries and patisserie scattered around the area quite known in local circles. Summer has arrived and with the easing of travel restrictions, one just need to pack up and enjoy the season with family and friends still observing health protocols. In this pandemic, one just have to be creative and careful to still be able to enjoy life's simplest pleasures! Keep safe everyone and celebrate the warm season!

If you would like to avoid crowded, fully packed resorts in the area, this is your place to go... It has a very nice family atmosphere, comfortable rooms, nice food and an outstanding service (according to European standards) You will probably not find anything similar in Cebu. They only have 10 rooms, so it will never be too many people around. There is a really pleasant veranda to spend your tasty meals in a great atmosphere. There is also a nice lounge, too. The owners are very kind, their staff really respectful and friendly. We will be probably come back again...
