Think it has been around my 7th visit to this property, so am quite familiar. Pinjalo is a good consistent product with clean rooms in a quite & safe environment. Jacquie & staff are pleasant & most things were explained. Made good use of the sun lounge & umbrellas at Calypso beachfront with the friendly security guard maintaining a watchful eye over guests & belongings. Rather petty re: the one pool/beach towel policy per day for the guests I thought. Sadly Boracay has changed for the worse over the years. Nowadays I can see so much evidence of overcrowding, over development & greed is becoming an obvious problem.

What can i say, We stayed at Pinjalo for 11 nights. Our stay at Pinjalo was excellent.Staff were so freindly and helpful. Pool was nice and clean. We had to go to sister hotel Calypso (2 Minute walk) for breakfast but having breakfast right on the beach was amazing. When you first arrive and look at the hotel from the outside you will wonder what you have booked but once you go through the doors a whole new world opens up. Its lush gardens and trees make you feel that the outside world doesnt exist. The staff are most helpful and will assist you without hesitation. Wifi is free and available at the pool and near the lobby.Room was clean and tidy with linen and bath towels changed everyday. I will definitley stay here again without hesitation. Thankyou Pinjalo for making my first time in phillipines and at Boracay a memorable holiday.

When the Jeepney pulled up outside I thought what have I booked it looked rundown. But once through the doors it was a Shangri-la. The garden was beautifully kept with lots of coconut and banana trees to offer shade. On going up the stairs to our entertaining area a very spacious are indeed. A 3 seat sofa and 2 single chairs of a cane construction. A very good serviced kitchenette with plates, cutlery and pots provided and toilet/washroom. Then up the stairs again to the sleeping quarters a large bed and a bathroom of gigantic proportions. Breakfast was served at the Calypso on the beach which was a 2-3 minute walk. Food was hot and served quickly and of a good quality. The nightlife along the beach was great. So many bars and restaurants to choose from. All cuisines catered for. All in all I was impressed and will be staying again.

We booked this hotel as a last minute, a trip after the Chinese New Year. I wanted to book Calypso, since someone recommended but it was fully booked. Since there is the same owner and checked the recommendations of other guests, we decided to go. We had booked four nights 2 standard rooms and 3 nights double deluxe, since our party was 5, including 2 toddlers.
The first thing first, after a long trip to Boracay we came in a hotel where it was NO SOAP. We asked for one and they replied very sharply that the hotel doesn't provide soap. Here we are going to find the first store to buy soap.
The towels were terrible!! old and barely wanted to use them. We paid for each room 90 Euro a night, which means 180 a night.
The second day we asked to change the rooms or have some discount, or we check out. In the meantime, since I wanted to wash my girls after the beach I discovered that there is NO HAIR DRYER, since "it is nowhere stated that they have to have hair dryier in the room", the reply of the concierge. I never thought that a beach hotel with such a high price for a room cannot provide a hairdryer!!
I insisted to have one, they gave us one that broke after 10 minutes and took us more than one hour to get one from Calypso. We waited, after washing our first girl, another hour to get hot water to wash the other girl.
The breakfast was at Calypso, "a la carte" which means they have 6 types of breakfast, including 2 for kids and you choose one. The choices are very limited and having "a la carte" means you wait one hour to eat, which is time consuming.
The first day when we wanted to have breakfast, since we were 5 they just threw a chair in a corner of the table so we shall just eat all in a small 4 person's table. I asked the lady to at least be kind and attach two tables together so we can have a comfortable breakfast and she agreed with the worst face I saw on a waiter's face.
That lady had the same bored/annoyed face each morning day or night, tried to cheat once on the bill and so on.
After all, these, we decided that we have to escape this terrible place. I also asked very kindly to make the change in the bill, that we fully paid, since they overcharged us-- through a travel agency myboracay.com -- an extra 25 Euro for 2 nights, since they had stated that the peak season ends February 17th, and since we arrived on February 16th, they were supposed to charge us just one night for peak not two as they did.
As the conditions were so terrible, and they didn't want to give us any discount for all the discomfort and act always like take it or leave it, we insisted to get the refund. They refused. My husband asked several times to talk to the manager, he was never available. The owners or managers are two Swiss guys who are always hanging around Calypso. I saw one witnessing my arguments (I got to that) with the Reservation lady, but never intervened!! The other one never wanted to show up and after we checked up, I saw him looking after us on the street..Such cowards and really bad customer relations!!
They announced us that they will not do anything to comfort us and if we want to leave we shall do so. The next day we announced that we check out and to set up all the bills. When wanted to pay, they gave us just the hotel bill, nothing from Restaurant. I announced them they made a mistake, since we do have to pay for restaurant but we will pay just a difference between our restaurant bill and the extra night they charged us incorrectly.
They refused, we insisted, they had long arguments with my husband, spending more than 3 hours like this, put me on the phone with myboracay.com and so on.
At the end the reservation lady, JOY, called the police. This was her way to comfort us after 3 nights with no soap, hairdryer, overschrging for a night, no hot water for an hour!!! As a result we went by ourselves to the police station, complained and announced the police they refused to issue a receipt.
All in all, the myboracaiguide.com representative arrived, some Michael, after other 4 hours, the most arrogant person I ever met, and finished the story.
We moved out to Canyon de Boracay, and finally felt like we got in the best hotel in the world.
All in all, we were so sorry we had such a bad experience and really ruined our holiday in such a wonderful place as Boracay. I know the management doesn't care about any negative feedback since their diving school is endorsed by the National Georgraphic...so people do go their.. However, the prices at Calypso are really high, a cocktail is around 160-180 PhP which has no real alcohol taste and you can drink a good one down the road to about 100 PhP. The meals are really terrible, but this is very usual in Boracay.
I do hope that nobody will go through such a bad experience in Boracay. and I do hope that nobody from the management of that horrible hotel will not answer to my post since this will be such an offence and incredible disrespectful towards us.

First Impressions: There's a small garden that graces the front of the resort and may hide the rest of the property from view. Both owned and run by the same owner as Calypso's, at first glance, Pinjalo looks more like the rustic sibling. Ranging from a low 33 GBP per night for a 2-man Standard Room (Low Season) to a 175 GBP per night for an 8-person Apartment (High Season), it is slightly cheaper compared to its peers for its 3-star rating. Some websites such as Agoda or myboracay.com may offer discounts.
PROS: There's a small, secluded swimming pool in the garden premises. Some villas have a kitchenette, so it will be good for families. Other villas have balconies so it's good for relaxing. Complimentary a la carte breakfast is included, but has to be ordered at a restaurant offsite.
CONS: Not really a beachfront property, but is only one block off the beach -- a 2-min walk. There's no dining area, but there's a restaurant at its sister resort Calypso a couple of blocks down. The free WiFi is spotty at best. It does lack a few of the amenities (toiletries, restaurant, etc) that is typically expected from a 3-star resort.
Verdict: Adequate for a few nights stay at this no-frills resort. Keep in mind that It is not a luxury hotel, but it does the job. Recommended. Grade A-minus.

Just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at the Pinjalo resort. We were 2 males and 1 female, and the 2 bedroom suite was not just better value than 2 separate rooms, but it's size was amazing. It was really more like an apartment, with its 2 double en suite bedrooms, a large living area and kitchen. The en suite bathroom of the master bedroom has to be seen to be believed! Staff were very friendly and the breakfast which is served at their diving club on the beach is also good value for money. To have your own private security guard who so graciously prepares your beach bed each morning for you, is pure luxury. Even going to the extent of moving the umbrella as the sun moves. Another bonus is the fact that the rooms are build around a beautiful garden, ensuring peace and quite at all times, which is not always possible at night in Boracay!

We stayed at Pinjalo from dec. 31th until 15th January 2008. By what i heared Pinjalo Resort was renovated not long ago.
First time on Boracay I regret the booking at the first moment, realizing Pinjalo is not a beach side hotel and located at a side road. But when I encounter later what happens at the beach / "White Beach Path" at night and how noisy it can be, especially at peak season, I was glad about that.
Its only a two minute walk from the resort to the beach / "White Beach Path", to the Sportsbar where your breakfast will be served and the associated Calypso Dive Center. If you have need for a safety box they will offer it free to you - those are located at the tourist center which is next to the restaurant. Being here, almost in the middle of White Beach, its a good starting point for exploring beach life. Its a 10 to 15 mins walk to other restaurants, bars and the shopping center "D'Mall" to the right, as well to the quiter end of the beach, to the left.
The buildings / Villas are embedded in a beautiful and quiet garden with a small swimmingpool and gym. Can't tell much about other rooms; but our standard room was very spacy and good for three, comfty and clean; with TV, minibar, Aircon and a huge balcony which is good for a small cocktail party. Bathroom was spacy and clean as well. The staff is outstanding polite and helpfull even at night times.
They offer free sunbeds at the beach which are overlooked by an own guard, so in general its safe to bring stuff like cellphone, camera etc. with you. The breakfast is good - nothing to complain about. Fresh bread, fruits and cereals, cheese, bacon, sausages, a toaster and the cook will prepare your eggs as you like. There is a free and useable WLAN at Sportsbar and the resort - at least I had a reasonable connection at the room, but I guess it depends at which corner of the resort your room is located. So if you rely on an internet connection, make sure to ask for it in advance.
We had a great stay at Pinjalo with no problems at all and I can absolutely recommend it.

Its a nice hotel with beatiful garden and a little pool. It's very quiet at night(and day actually). I believe the hotel is new. Me and my husband had a deluxeroom. 2 kingsize bed, frigde, tv, big bath, aircon.Comfy beds too!! Big balcony. It was very clean-they clean the room twice a day!!! Put flowers on the bed every day. I can recomend deluxe room, than a ordinary double room. I saw the doubleroom and it was tiny, and very big different from the other. It's a 2 min walk to the beach and there is also breakfast at the Sportsbar incl the price. And there is free sunbeds at the beach that's for Pinjalo guests incl an own guard. And you can put all your meals that you buy at the Sportsbar(next to the sunbeds) on the room, so you don't have to bring alot money at the beach. Smart!!! You also gets beachtowels free from the hotel that you bring back in the end of the day. The staff was so nice and polite. No problem at all!!! I will absolutely recomend it! Good location!!

Ambiance - It's like we are in another place in Boracay! Who would've thought that there is a mini forest in the middle of Boracay?
Room - Clean and spacious rooms! Large comfort room is a plus! I also loved the veranda.
Service - Staff were amazing!
Value of Money - Paying for the services and amenities of the hotel was worth it!
The resort also has a swimming pool with sun bathing beds.

This hotel has nice friendly staffs. Their landscapes and pool are well maintained and pleasing to the eyes. Our room was clean but needs a little of work on covering up the ceiling water damages. Our TV was not clear as the cable connecting to the TV was damaged. The hotels is a walk away from the beach, the shopping market, and foods which a big bonus. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and friends.

Hi,
Thanks for your question regarding the Euro 2016. We offer the Kalibo cable provider in our rooms, however they do not broadcast the Euro 2016. However on Boracay Island most hotels offer Kalibo cable. There are many options to watch the Euro 2016 as there are many bars and restaurants that will offer livestreaming during the Euro 2016. Hope this answers your question.
In case you would like to stay in Pinjalo Resort Villas we have a promo running during the Euro 2016 with all roomtypes a 25% discount.
Best Regards, Frank Schwarte
