Detailed Reviews
It's a great place close to the best part of Boracay (section 1) In case you want to go to rest! The hotel is not in front of the beach but it' s ten meters away from it. And you can use the beach chairs of any place just buying something to drink. highly recommended!!!!!!

The hotel is perfectly positioned in station 1 where it's a little less crowded and the people are more chilled out. It's only a short walk to Dmall and all the cool restaurants. The view of the beach from the top floor is awesome and staff are always there to help.

Such helpful friendly staff and the location was super. Rooms are small so couples should try and upgrade. They are kept so clean though. Manager was brilliant. She recommended all the best places to eat and drink and was a wealth of knowledge. Really enjoyable stay overall. Rooftop is a lovely place to chill with a drink.

I was going to take my (then girlfriend) end of March for a 9 day stay on Boracay island. She thought it was my belated birthday trip, little she knew this was gonna be all for her. I work in an executive position for an international high end hotel chain, and purposely decided not to stay at one of our sister properties on the island. Due to my work, I have the eye for detail staying at hotels but I wanted to switch this off (which is hard) and just be easily taken care of.
I noticed on Expedia, TripAdvisor, Booking.com and social media that Lugar Bonito seemed to be a small refreshing hotel in the middle of the island with high pleasant ratings. With a Greek theme (my lady is greek so that helped!) it seems from the outside as being too small, yet its the quality that counts, right? One always takes a risk cause you never know you could be that one guest that a hotel fails on. But soon I would find out I would be far from being that...
So early January I reached out to Lugar Bonito hotel for booking confirmation. I was immediately responded by Chiqui (GM and owner) about welcoming my booking. I then told her of my detailed plan of proposing to my then-girlfriend, and what began to be a many back and forth emails on making this day more and more and more amazing.
It involved having 5 paraw sail boats to have the big question with her name on the first one, but I did not really know how to go from there.
Chiqui from that point on took the lead to suggest, but more importantly custom-make. Copy paste proposal was not in my vocabulary, and so Chiqui understood my personalized needs. She helped me tasking a 10+ people, boating crew, locals and own hotel staff, and making this a massive proposal, and a next day event. Chiqui got everyone involved in the act, synched in with the nearby 5* resort for our engagement private beach dinner, set up all the amenities and services, and much more to come.
The first day we arrived I lost my luggage and my phone, and the next day was gonna be the big day. Feeling beaten by 'bad luck' she supported me that everything was going to be just great "Today sucks, because tomorrow will be amazing".
The next day in the afternoon we start the whole proposal scenario. Lugar Bonito hotel staff got involved, Chiqui followed and recorded everything, all the way to the point at the beach where the 5 sails dropped with the big question. After saying my fiancee gave me the big YES, Chiqui kept recording while we sailed off in sunset to Shangri La. Then for the next day she surprised my NOW FIANCEE with an in-room massage, breakfast on the roof and personalized sand castle. Even my family reached to her and her team for a surprise for us, and she made that happen too.
The hotel itself has small cosy rooms and bathroom, but pure privacy, no noise, and clean. Always cold fresh cold water available, and anything you ask the front desk team, they will assist. You get the concierge and butler service, even though you are in a street-front and beach front small hotel. If we needed advise to go anywhere, they were ready. If we need a suggestion for a shop and not be tricked, they pointed to the right direction. If we needed extra towels, no problem. And the service just kept coming and coming.
The location is perfect: You go left, you get the noisy vibe and tourists, you go right it becomes zen and chill, you go straight for 25 meters and your feet are in the turquoise water.
Make sure to follow Chiqui's suggestion list of places to eat and drink. She knows it better than anyone, and this comes from a big foodie like me!
Ask her about the island secrets or what it best and how not to be tricked.
We spent 9 wonderful days. We cannot wait to go back and see Chiqui and the team. I have been asked by friends and colleagues if I should stay in our large 5* sister property next time, and I simply reply: If you want to feel you are on an island, experience top level service and genuine personalized care, not be surrounded by tourists near your rooms or early mornings, and have a tailor-made experience, then stay at Lugar Bonito.....and as long as possible.
Chiqui and team, thank you for helping make the proposal of the century happen (my friends envy me for the amazing act we put in place!). And of course thank you for the amazing care everyday we were there!
Without being cocky, but as a hospitality professional, take it from me: THIS hotel is exactly where one should stay when on an island! No star is enough for Lugar Bonito!
We will be back....(probably with more than just 2 adults ;))

A taste of Mediterranean in Boracay. Service was impeccable. Manager really looks after her guests. She even took the time to give us a list of "things to do" in Boracay. The room was quaint and unique. It is a lovely boutique hotel.

We arrived at Lugar Bonito afternoon of 21 Jan 2016, but even before we got into the plane going to Kalibo, we already felt so much at home and excited for the hotel since Ms. Chiqui was so accommodating. Lugar Bonito was nestled at the Station 1 of Boracay Island and was very easy to find, also, it was really near the beach. The facade of the building was really simple and peaceful. It looks more like a "Santorini" themed hotel, but what amazed me were the insides of the hotel. First, THE ROOM. It was very simple, gentle and peaceful. The air conditioning was good, the bed was perfect which my husband loved the most! Anything that you might need was inside the room, a television, an electric water heater and a lot of stuffs. The lighting was perfectly romantic and what I loved most was the smell. The oil perfume they used compatibly matched the mood of the room. Second, THE SERVICE. I think or my husband has secretly told them that It was our honeymoon, they put cute heart-shaped pillows and little teddy bears on our bed that really made me feel so special. I really loved that part! The service was really great in all the aspects, the staffs, assisted us in everything, gave us directions and also, we were given a 10% discount on our meal at Mamitas grill and Obama grill. Last but not least, was THE VIEW. We didn't really roamed around the hotel, so we were really amazed to have our breakfast on the top deck with a beautiful view of the beach. The food was also great, the brewed coffee and the meal. Overall, the hotel was the perfect place to be for a vacation!!! It is not what you will see on the pictures but how the place will make you feel when you're there already. So see for yourselves! So much recommended!

My fiancé and I stayed at Lugar Bonito last Dec. 26-30, 2015. The hotel was as it seemed in the pictures. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, which was actually very small but Chiqui, the manager, bumbed us up to the much bigger two-bedroom room on our last day, which was a very nice experience. I suggest getting the bigger rooms.
The staff is very, very helpful, which is most probably due to the great management of Chiqui, who is also very present and willing to offer suggestions and help.
The rooms, were beautiful! My only comment was the noise level of the street outside. Lugar Bonito is by the busiest road of that side of Boracay island. Hoping they manage to sound proof the windows in the future.
The food that comes with the room needs a lot of improvement. Although there are other options you can pay for, which I nor my fiancé opted for. What we did instead was buy cold cuts at the deli and eat it with our breakfast or have breakfast outside.
Would I return to Lugar Bonito? Of course! The location is very good and Chiqui helped make our stay a lot more fun!

Lugar Bonito was incredible. It's a 6-unit boutique hotel so it has a lot more personality and personal touch than the larger hotels on Boracay.
- The location itself is fantastic as it's right across the street from the beach at Station 1, which is generally quieter and away from the party scene. Still it's a short walk to Station 2 and D-mall, and importantly a short walk to Jonah's where you have the best smoothies in the world!
- The service is incredible. Chiqui is the owner and has spent so much time curating and designing a fantastic B&B. She's always around (lives upstairs) and is very helpful with recommendations and helping us book vendors at the best rates.
- The roof deck is beautiful. It's a simple deck with a nice table that overlooks the water, and they provide a simple home-cooked breakfast every morning.
- The room itself is so comfortable. Everything is really clean and well-designed. We were arguing over whether the look was "island bohemian" or "shabby chic" -- I don't think we ever settled it but regardless it's a beautiful room. The beds and sheets are super comfortable, among the best I've stayed on in a hotel.

I love this place! The room interior was tastefully done. The bathroom was small but perfectly staged. I loved the bathroom tiles! The location was absolutely the best. I recommend this place if you like to stay in a quieter area but still near to the restaurants. Station 2 is a 10 minute leisure walk. The beach is just 25 steps away from the hotel. I stayed here last December 2014 and I still daydream to return here soon.
Pros: Free use of clean bath towels, toiletries were provided, the bed and pillows were super comfortable, free drinking water, free WiFi, TV with cable, AC is a split type (silent and powerful), room lighting was soothing, hotel is beside the road but never noisy. The best part of the hotel is the management. The Manager and staff were friendly and accommodating. Thank you for the wonderful memories. Thank you Chiqui! We will definitely return.
No cons. Everything was perfect. :)

This botique hotel offers a relaxing ambience to rest and to clear one's mind. There is no pretense in this place. The room provides inspiration to balance work and recreation. The staff is friendly. The breakfast view from the rooftop is breathtaking. The coffee in the morning is a proper coffee which helps me get through the day. Along the road, transportation is easy. However, the noise from the middle of the night (pub crawl) can seriously wake one up. The room can benefit from having a desk (for writing and work). I recommend this place to friends. I am not disappointed and I hope to be back.
