Turtle Inn Resort felt much like home. My wife and I went there for our honeymoon and enjoyed every second of it. Mhalen, the hotel owner, and her family are very nice and kind people. They escorted us to almost everywhere we went. Educated us on the best deals and sites to visit. We saved tons of money. We didn't do anything without consulting with them. Next time I visit Boracay, I wont hesitate to go back to Turtle Inn Resort and stay with my friends, Mhalen and her family. The beach is only a two minute walk from the resort. Very quiet and peaceful place to stay at. Most other resort next to the beach are very loud and noisy. If you like peace and quiet, turtle in is the place. I will finish by telling you that they have the best cook in the whole resort "Charleen". She made us the best dinner we had in Boracay, and I will recommend you buy some goodies and ask her to cook it for you, "especially Shrimp". You won't regret it. See you soon Mhalen, her cute little boy, Jeny, Jun, Jejemon, Charleen, New York (the dog), and the rest of the family.

We stayed at Turtle Inn for 11days with my boyfriend and his friend, they are both from Australia. I can't say anything unpleasant about this place quite surprising for a perfectionist type like me. When we arrived at the place the guard was so helpful to bring our luggages inside, we are welcome with mango shakes (very nice) and our names was written on their small welcome board. Jenny is very accommodating and all the staffs too...Their rooms are very clean, shower is good, cabled tv it's just that they have no phone so if you would be needing any just go downstairs, you can usually see their attentive staffs walking around though. They serve 3 types of pancakes, the original one, mango and banana, and eggs with bread for breakfast..with coffee of course...you can have your breakfast downstairs, outside your room or even inside ...

If you wanna see a nice sunset go to the top floor of their building..and if you want a safe and cheap price to experience the activities around boracay ask jenny or jun..They can give you one with a good price...if you need beach towels you can ask them for free...

Don't miss their turtle shots! if they like you they will give you some shots for free..;)
This is really a best place to relax, and experience the true hospitality and ambiance being in the Philippines...and its not far from the beach..;)
If we will get the chance to go back we'll definitely choose to stay at turtle inn again...

highly recommended..

One thing that I would like to suggest to the management is to check their beds and fix it kinda noisy...:)

I booked a room at the Turtle Inn for 6 days (Oct.7-12) after reading the reviews here in TripAdvisor. This is a good time to visit Boracay, it's off-peak and you get great rates minus the crowd. Just make sure to check the weather forecast since this tends to be the rainy season, although my entire stay had been sunny.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a person actually waiting for us at the airport, and he helped us with our bags and guided us on the trip to the hotel.
The place itself is at Station 3 and is a 2-3 minute walk from the beachfront. Most of the action is at Stations 1 and 2, I personally don't mind walking there since there's plenty to see/do/eat along the way, but if you prefer, you can also ride a trike for around 50pesos (~$1) and it will take you anywhere in White Beach (100pesos for anywhere further in the island).
We were welcomed with cool banana shakes in our room by the very charming and friendly Marilyn and Jenny. Don't be hesitant to ask them for anything that would make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable, they showcase Filipino hospitality at it's best.
The room itself is spacious and clean, with a minibar well-stocked with drinks. They also have free Wifi and complimentary breakfast. Ask Jenny or her husband Jun if you're planning any activities, they will hook you up with great deals.
They make sure to clean your room everyday regardless of the time you go out. And I slept like a baby, the place is very peaceful and quiet, and the airconditioner worked wonderfully.
Our only regret is not having tried the Turtle Shots mentioned by a lot of fellow travelers here. That's for next time, I'll be sure to stay here again next time I'm in Boracay!

I am rather bemused by the kind of complaints about Turtle Inn. Ok, I understand that the rooms, location and amenities are not Shangri-la, but neither are we paying Shangri-la prices? =)

Well, I stayed at Turtle Inn for 5 nights in Feb 09. Paying about US$40 a night, I arrived, expecting US$40 rooms. Reading reviews in Tripadvisor increased expectations of the service, promising a homely inn kind of experience. Turtle Inn not just exceeeded these expectations but even gave me holiday memories of an adventure!

The resort is in bright white and green hues, and looks very new compared to the neighbouring houses. The neighbourhood is dimly lit but the walks back always felt safe. The rooms (even upper standard) are big and the furniture is just simple and pleasant. The tv has cable channels, and the unique patio style balcony is also perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. The food in their restaurant is also wonderful, one of the best on the island. Only drawback I can conjure, if I'm being picky, is the sometimes limited warm water of the showers and the low water pressure.

Ah, finally, the service of the owner & staff. It was just GREAT. Although I did not request for a transfer, one of the staff, Amelio, was waiting at Caticlan airport the moment i landed, to guide me thru' getting to Turtle Inn. I arrived on Valentine's Day, the room was given extra touches like hearts and delicately folded towels. Every day, without fail, the "coffee set" would be placed on your balcony. The island hopping tours that their affliated boatmen runs are also great. Troy (the owner) will even ask them to bring you to the local market to get your raw food for bbq lunch. Troy is really friendly, and a great guy to chat with. When he is in the mood, he organises the best trips for his guests! I was lucky enough to go for a trip to a cold spring and caves in Caticlan organised by him.

Granted, Turtle Inn may be a basic resort catering to the slightly more budget conscious travellers - but the people truly sets it apart. I mean I may have considered splurging on posher, beach-front resorts on future holidays to Boracay, but after the Turtle Inn experience, no way am I going to consider other resorts!

Service: Nice and somewhat professional staff. The females are pretty but you have no chance with them. I met the owner Troy. Cool and straight up guy from Florida and will give you all the incite about the Island. However, he's a chatter box when he's had a couple of beers

Rooms: Rather large and sufficiently equipped. The TV are rather small, but when you're in Boracay,TV's the last thing you need unless you're seriously ill. Take precautions when walking up the stairs to your room. If you have children or are a stumbling drunk, I suggest you get a room close to ground. Some rooms have a patio (great views) and coffee is waiting for you every morning. AC works. Water works. Basic toiletries.

Location: Off the beaten path and I mean REAL off. It's in a quiet location off of Boat Station 3. Walking through alleys passing local farms, roosters and housing can be quite interesting. It's a good thing that Boracay is safe place because walking back after dark can be quite unnerving since there are hardly any lights and strange noises all around. Maybe a 5 to 10 minute walk from White Sands beach. They got an ATM right at Boat Station 3 but make sure you have the right type of card.

Restaurant and Breakfast: I never ate there. I did drink and smoke at the bar. They have a menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner however.

Overall: Yeah, I'd go back. My only dislike was the walks back to the hotel when it was pitch black. I can't suggest they put lights in the alleys because that'd spoil the charm of Boracay. This hotel is not for the luxury hotel types but more for those who want to get the feel of unspoiled Boracay.

We stayed at the Turtle Inn for 2 nights (definately not long enough), and found the staff to be extremely friendly. the room was large, with a well stocked mini-bar, large comfortable bed with high quality linen, cable TV was good though we did not watch it much, the bathroom was spacious and well laid out. Our room had a large open balcony. The staff found us good rates on some of the things to do on the island including a day of island hopping. They showed us around and were overall more interested in us enjoying our stay than our money. We were very pleased and will return for a longer stay as soon as possible.

The hotel brought together some of the best people on the island- quite a statement considering the kind and friendly nature enhibited by Filipinos. The hotel owners provide a combination of kindness and consideration (Mhalen), and fun and party (Troy). The staff are constantly smiling and going out of their way to ensure that you are enjoying your stay.

The rooms are exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable and without water/ electricity issues witnessed in other parts of the island. The steps up to the rooms- particularly to the upper rooms- could be a problem for some.

The restaurant/ bar is tailored for younger crowds looking for some fun. The bar area was by far the more popular of the two areas while I was there- albeit I had other places to be throughout the daytime hours. At night, the music and good times were enjoyed by all of us at the hotel each night. (Thanks to the others staying at the hotel at the same time I did- you guys were awesome!)

I would give two thumbs up to anyone on a mid-range budget looking to stay somewhere for a good time. You can't go wrong here if you are young, or single, looking for an unforgettable time in a breathtaking setting featuring a kind, family-like atmosphere. If relaxing by the pool with your family is your thing, choose somewhere else. There are many other places in Boracay better suited for a family-vacation.

Thanks all- see you again this summer.

I stayed at the Turtle Inn in January/February 2007 having booked up largely based on reviews on Tripadvisor. In my opinion past reviews proved to be fairly accurate if perhaps a little over exhuberant. It is a great little clean middle-end family-run hotel in an ideal location (at least for my requirements) at Station 3, a short, if at first confusingly multi-directional, two minute walk from the quieter end of the beach as well as being convenient for the main road.
The main nightlife (Station 1) is perhaps a 10 minute plus walk along the sandy beach "promenade" but the area is safe, well lit and there are plenty of eating, drinking, sailing options near that end of the beach. In fact some of the best and more relaxing options are to be found by walking along the beach in the opposite direction away from Station 3.
Everybody on the island is amazingly friendly and helpful but none more so than the local hotel staff. They were truly wonderful to me and enhanced my holiday greatly. Their helpfulness, good natures and humour were never-ending, particularly the girls. These are serious nice people. They also provided advice, picked me up from Caticlan airport, provided daily beach towels, shared jokes at my expense, showed me around the beach area and were genuine friendly, easy going people and a great advert for the country. The owner Troy and his wife Marilyn could not be friendlier or more helpful. Troy can be perhaps even too friendly at times when I wanted to rest instead of joining him in the bar but rather that than being treated like a stranger. He could also not be any more American if he tried.
My room was very large, spotlessly clean, had cable tv, shower, adequate storage space and a large double patio window/entrance overlooking the small hotel grounds. Interestingly the sink area was outside the main bathroom and was not that well lit which made shaving a bit of a gamble unless you kept the curtains open and let everyone watch your morning activities but this was a minor problem. I would however recommend avoiding this room, number 8, as although it is a great room, the location can be a bit of a nightmare as it sits right above the bar and reception area which can get fairly lively on the odd evening between the hours of 1800 to 2300 as Troy entertains the guests or banters with Marilyn. It doesn't help that he is tone deaf.
I would recommend this hotel to anybody on a mid-budget seeking to be slightly away from the madding crowd but within walking distance of the main bar and restaurant area. The walk back can get a bit waring in the early hours but there are plenty of stopover options.
Now for a brief reality check. I loved this hotel but, as pointed out in some previous reviews, it is suitable to couples and singles, not really families with children or the elderly. This is only for the reason that the rooms are reached by various short sets of stairs. Luckily I was on the first floor but would have struggled to make it to the top floor if I was feeling tired. The location is also reached by walking through a small area of local residencies where families and pets play. No problem for people like myself, happy to interact with local families, but not for the shy retiring type who hates being friendly to enchanting smiling children and wants to step immediately off the beach into his room without nodding hello to the locals. It all adds to the character of the hotel but don't go there expecting Utopia. It is a great friendly family-run hotel but would not be to everyone's taste.

We stayed at Turtle Inn for 5 nights during our honeymoon in September. The owners of the guest house are extremley friendly and gave us a very warm welcome. During our stay there they made every effort to help us, including recommending an excellent contact on the island to take us on a boat trip. The rooms are very clean and spacious. With excellent air con, cable tv and a very reasonably priced mini-bar, what more do you need! The area in which the Inn is located is definitely the nicer end of the island and I would highly recommend staying at Turtle Inn.

It's been almost a week now since i got back from a wonderful trip in boracay. i am just glad that i never hesitated to spend 4 days of my vacation to a place i call PARADISE! Sure there were a lot of good things happened with this trip and one was staying at Mr. T's TURTLE INN. My friends and I were so tired from the trip and first thing that we could think of was to get a good rest on the first day... and fortunately we did. I was so surprised to see our hotel room. It was huge! It reminded me of my stay in Marco Polo Hotel because it looked almost the same... big nice beds, clean bathroom and if i am not mistaken we were on the top most floor. Yes.. it was like staying in a 5 star hotel but it was freakingly cheap! The staff were just extremely accomodating especially the owner himself, TROY. He made our vacation so perfect! He had good recommendations. He brought us to cool party places the first night and even went sailing, island hopping and snorkelling (my favorite) with us on our third day. It was my 3rd trip to bora and that was the only time that i had so much fun. THANKS to TROY, Jenny and the rest of Turtle Inn staff. I would defenitely stay again with you next time!

So if you people out there planning a trip to Boracay.. Stay at Turtle Inn. SURE you'll have the best of everything!!!
