especially if you have kids, seedy, loud, place where you're likely to find the creepy guy that came to the Philippines for one thing staying. Our place was infested with misquitos, smelled like mold/had mold problem, had a sign posted on the door about how sex with minors is illegal, and how we should keep our conversation to a minimum, the internet is awful and not available in room The location is good if you like to party they are located behind one of the greatest dive bars on the planet and the price isn't terrible but you could certainly do better in the same area for the same money
We were travelling for 40 days throughout Southeast Asia and Bamboo Bungalows was by far one of our top resorts. If you're on a medium budget and don't need a super luxurious room with amenities, look no further! Just a 30 second walk from room to beachfront, reserved beachfront for guests with no obstructed view, DELICIOUS breakfasts, what more do you need? The staff is beyond accommodating! The hotel also owns the bar in front, we didn't hear any noise from our room, but if you're in the oceanfront rooms, you may get some noise depending on how good the soundproofing of the balcony doors are. The District Boracay is a few feet away from Bamboo Bungalows with the same exact beachfront view!!! If you walk to the end of DMall there is a minimart that accepts all credit cards…
This place is a joke. Initially we we stoked as the location is right behind Exit bar, the local late night bar with strong cheap drinks. The layout is cute, bungalow style. We had went the day before we booked and SPECIFICALLY asked if there was hot water, wifi and any noise issues. We were told yes, yes & no. See below... 🙄 1. Upon check in we are immediately told the wifi is terrible and will not work in the room. And it didn't. 2. Our initial room was WAY in the back... you literally had to walk through muddy grass to get to the door. There was a ton of construction going on right next to us. Yeah. So we had to move... to a room that literally has a sign stating, 'Please keep conversation minimal...' WTF? So I can't talk in my own room? 3. The bug problem is out of…
My family and I went to Bora last 29 and stayed at Bamboo Bungalows beside Red Coconut at station 2. We were looking for an affordable place with kitchen and found this. We stayed at their apartment type villa with 2 BR since we were all 6 pax. Both rooms have AC but the living/dining area doesn't have one so there were lots of mosquitoes. I have allergic rhinitis and my nose reacted immediately to the dust and molds. The following day, our apartment lost power and we were transferred to another apartment type but the other room has no AC, so they transferred my 2 kids to the another standard room. The following day we were again asked to moved to our original apartment saying they have fixed the problem. My hubby refused but they said their is someone booked on the standard…
The staff, Che che and the owner herself (hands on daily operation) went out of their way to accommodate our special needs. My sister and I are seniors and I am disabled. They moved us to a garden bungalow and built us each with single beds with comfortable firm mattresses from a family room overlooking the beach but you can hear the music from the beach at night. What service.
well the rom are simple and nice but nothing particular. pool isn't available but you have just 20 m to the beach. breakfast is available but i didn't take it. if you got the room in front to the beach well i wouldn't go in anymore coz it's so noisy ( music) until 2 am from the the exit bar just in front of you. better take the room in the back.
After a 5 year absence from the Philippines we returned to spend Holy Week in Boracay again and at the Bamboo again. The previous review dated May 17,2011. We were a family/group of 15 and had Two 2bedroom apts. and 1 family room for 8 nights(March 21 to 29).The 2 bedroom apartments are very spacious and have a kitchen which we hardly used and a large living room. The daily breakfast which is included(free) is really good with bottomless coffee. The Exit bar out front is one of the busiest bars around and is great to just hang and meet strangers. We could not hear any noise from the bar at night because the rooms are in the garden area. The rooms have been updated somewhat from our previous visit. If you are looking for a 5 star modern place this is not for you.But like last time…
Me and my partner went on a mini pub crawl, well I say mini we hit one bar and found Bamboo and that was it - we didn't leave. If it had a 24 hour licence I would be there now. If you like reggae and new and old hip hop classics this place is the one. The energy in this place was off the chain. If you don't go here whilst in Boracay you are mad.
Bamboo Bungalows is a perfect place to stay at when visiting Boracay. Went here for Holy Week, it was a party. Foreigners from all over the world, soaking the sun, enjoying the island! I did the reservation a month ahead via agoda.com and everything was smooth sailing. Positives: Location,location,location... this is at Station 2! Now if you like to be near the restaurants and the bars, Station 2 is the area. Second, beachfront. They have their own lounges, my friends and I will be out at the beach 10am-11am and there's the chaise lounges waiting for us. We forgot something in the room, no prob it's a less than a minute walk back :), Breakfast is held at their garden, every room has a hammock and its own balcony. It was really awesome staying at Bamboo Bungalows, the front desk…
It was gloomy and the place just doesn't look that nice. I mean, the beddings were unattractive - they were supposed to be white but they almost looked gray. The rooms did not look particularly clean either, in fact, there was a cockroach in our room one night. Service also left something to be desired. To be fair, the AC was cold and the complimentary breakfast selections were pretty good. The place really isn't that bad, but there are just too many other places to stay at in Boracay, and this place just does not match up to other resorts at the same price point. I am definitely not staying here again unless I absolutely cannot book a room anywhere else.
