Location good, right off beach. Lots of restaurants close by. Clean room with A/C.
Was just very loud at night due to bars being right beside our unit. We only stayed 1 night so no big deal.
Toilet did not work.

I don't want to say anything nice about this place because I want to keep it a secret. We honestly liked staying at Bamboo Bungalows. We stayed at 2 different hotels before finding this place and we are so happy to have found it.
It's not for you if you want all the luxuries of a 4-5 star hotel. The price was very reasonable at 4500 Pesos with free breakfast. We had a family room and it's facilities were basic but we didn't mind. The place had a very relaxing vibe about it, we liked the big veranda and the kids loved the hammock. The staff were always nice an helpful. The only thing is it would have been great it they had supplied coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast was very basic but remember it's free with the room.
We loved the way this place is small but most of all is that it's busy and bustling outside in station 2 but when your back in your room it's quite. It's very handy being close to the shops and restaurant and it's great that there's free internet in the room. Plus there are loungers and umbrellas for the guest.
We will be back at the Bamboo Bungalow Rest House again and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

It was gloomy and the place just doesn't look that nice. I mean, the beddings were unattractive - they were supposed to be white but they almost looked gray. The rooms did not look particularly clean either, in fact, there was a cockroach in our room one night. Service also left something to be desired.

To be fair, the AC was cold and the complimentary breakfast selections were pretty good.

The place really isn't that bad, but there are just too many other places to stay at in Boracay, and this place just does not match up to other resorts at the same price point.

I am definitely not staying here again unless I absolutely cannot book a room anywhere else.

I agree about the great location and great staff. Also reasonable price. But personally I had a problem with the night staff who did not allow me to re-enter my room. The situation was only resolved when I contacted the police. There are lots of good places to stay in this part of the the beach without this hassle. Try Summer Place or SeaWind , both nearby. The best place to stay for me is Daves Straw Hat Inn, although it is a walk to the night spots. For the romantics, forget White Beach and go to Baling Hai resort.

Had to book in advance from Australia which is something we usually try not to do, but being peak season we thought it would be the safest option as there aren't many online.

I spent far too much of my time writing emails to the reception about which room we wanted, how much it was going to cost and the inclusions. I was also told I had to pay via paypal only to find out they most definitely have credit card facilities on site. Tsk tsk!

I asked for a family room bungalow but ended up with a Family Room Sea View.

In the 25 emails between myself and Bamboo Bungalows not ONCE did anyone care to mention that the Family Sea View room was directly above the bloody bar that is open til the early hours of the morning.

Nowhere on the website, which is awful to view even on a desktop computer, does it mention the Family Sea View room is directly above the bar that plays pounding music until the early hours of the morning.

The other issue we had was our shower hose and head gave you an electric shock whenever you touched it. That's great considering we are at a beach side location, we're mostly covered in dried salt which makes conductivity even greater!

The one thing going for this place is its location. If you stay, make sure you have a room near the back, but I would say that about ANY of the hotels along the beach there.

Other advice which is hard to come by: you can stay anywhere along White Beach as its all walking distance to the main spot and I've since discovered that there are so many places on Boracay NOT found online, that you can absolutely just arrive and find a hotel room at better prices.

This hotel is good location in white beach boracay near d mall.we travel with my family.we choose the apartment type bungalow ..at first we appreciate the resort but we are so upset in hotel cleaners as they stole our money. We are just downstairs watching TV and i forgot that i we just put the few money in bag that it was upstairs and the cleaner just change the bed sheets..and few minutes they already change the sheets and when i went in room ,our money is gone, she left some few pesos so that they would think that they havent stole our money..how much more when they clean our room without the guest around?we never expected they would stole because we are just downstairs...and when we report to the management,it was nothing to them ,no action in what happen,we lost like almost P5,000 plus ..very disappointing resort

We liked this place very much, even though in station 2 on the beach front with lot of actions, when you are back in the room, its very quite. Umbrellas on the beach exclusive for the hotel guests is free. Restaurants are just next doors, eating anything from cuisine around the world! a small cozy (EXIT Bar) in front of the hotel comes lively in the night, they have drum beats 3 times a week...great native drummers...liked them. The rooms are big and well maintained. The breakfast is very minimal, but that is ok to start the day!! The nightlife near the hotel is vibrant. Totally enjoyed my stay here.

We stayed at Bamboo Bungalows with our two children (6 and 4) in February 2011 and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming family run hotel and an authentic Boracay experience. The bungalows are set in a beautiful and peaceful garden with mature tropical plants that shade and provide privacy at the same time. The place is run by the lovely Marcy and the charming if slightly eccentric Chris and they have been on Boracay for more than 20 years. Their staff are wonderful and always ready to help with any request or issue that guests might have. We stayed in the new family apartment which has two air-conditioned rooms and a large sitting room, kitchenette and balcony. It was perfect. The beautiful garden is carefully enclosed so kids can run around safely. As another reviewer says the beach in front is the best part of the entire beach. The bar situated at the front of the resort next to the beach is called EXIT and is run by the Owner's hardworking son Kevin who is tireless in his efforts to entertain and serve guests. Bamboo is a rustic resort and not the type of place to have a 'kids club' but nevertheless it is perfect for kids and Chris will personally entertain the kids doing tricks with his faithful hound "Smiguel". Babysitting is available and easy to arrange. Breakfast is great. Boracay is a fantastic island and Bamboo Bungalows is THE place to stay.

After a 5 year absence from the Philippines we returned to spend Holy Week in Boracay again and at the Bamboo again. The previous review dated May 17,2011.
We were a family/group of 15 and had Two 2bedroom apts. and 1 family room for 8 nights(March 21 to 29).The 2 bedroom apartments are very spacious and have a kitchen which we hardly used and a large living room.
The daily breakfast which is included(free) is really good with bottomless coffee.
The Exit bar out front is one of the busiest bars around and is great to just hang and meet strangers. We could not hear any noise from the bar at night because the rooms are in the garden area. The rooms have been updated somewhat from our previous visit. If you are looking for a 5 star modern place this is not for you.But like last time ,I would highly recommend the place and will return there the next time we are back. Our 1st timer friends all liked the Bamboo. You can`t beat the location,Beachfront,Exit bar,D`mall, central.
Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so wonderful.

Bamboo Bungalows is a perfect place to stay at when visiting Boracay. Went here for Holy Week, it was a party. Foreigners from all over the world, soaking the sun, enjoying the island! I did the reservation a month ahead via agoda.com and everything was smooth sailing. Positives: Location,location,location... this is at Station 2! Now if you like to be near the restaurants and the bars, Station 2 is the area. Second, beachfront. They have their own lounges, my friends and I will be out at the beach 10am-11am and there's the chaise lounges waiting for us. We forgot something in the room, no prob it's a less than a minute walk back :), Breakfast is held at their garden, every room has a hammock and its own balcony. It was really awesome staying at Bamboo Bungalows, the front desk was so helpful for info how to get here, where this restaurant is at. Our rooms were made everyday, no prob borrowing beach towels, AC was perfect temperature. We had the Family Rm in Garden and it came with a refrigerator, TV, 1 King bed and 1 single bed, perfect for 3 people. Now, the cons- there's not much just keep in mind one of the best bars in Bora "Exit Bar" is situated in front of Bamboo Bungalows so yes if you're staying at the Beachfront or Family Rooms with Beachfront views you will hear the awesome spinning beats of Exit Bar... forget about sleeping before 4am. I suggest reserve a Garden view room. This is not a 5star luxury hotel, no Philosophy toiletries in the restrooms. If you're looking for a laid back place with your own veranda, hammock, garden, beachfront with a beachfront bar, great place to socialize and dance this is the perfect place! Love it!! I can't wait to come back. Cheers Bamboo Bungalows!
