Very nice room and the space is maximize. All the staff are courteous and very accommodating. Price is affordable and very near the beach. I highly recommend the hotel. Pool is available although it is not deep but still family will enjoy it.
Basically itĀ“s just 3 minutes from station 2 beach, which is very nice.
The staff is nice too and the hotel itself is clean.
The rooms are all orientated towards the inside, as the outside is absolutely not nice.
There is no fitness room or a pool and the breakfast is simply poor:
Continental breakfast (in our rate included), which was PHP 6000/room/night))
2 slices of toast, a small banana, and a half mango. The coffee is an instant one-so better go for tea.
On the homepage they did quote PHP 950 for transfer to Kalibo Airport (about 2 hrs 30 minutes) roundtrip. Arrived in the hotel, they asked me for over PHP 1900 with the excuse, that the price was a mistake on the home page.
If you arrange your transfer by yourself, which is really easy, you should be fine with not more than PHP 600 roundtrip.
The location is at an very narrow and dark way (approximately 1,5 m width). Some people will get afraid to walk here allone during the night.
There have been major construction works going on 24 hrs just 5 meter from our room, which did lead to terrible and mostly sleepless nights.
After the first night, I did want to talk to the manager, but even aver 3 more request on the next days, nowbody came back to us.
Sadly on the last day we have been informend, that the owner was sitting near to us every day and playing card with his italian friends, but did not want at all to care about his guests. A very bad service orientation from the owner. That is way I gave no points for service, even as the staff tries to do its best, but with no support from the management, there effort is lost.
Clearly during this peak season, there was no other hotel available. So we could not escape and it was the last possibility for getting a room on Boracay as we did book late November 2012.
The internet is very slow-to slow for skype.
While having done some research in other hotels, I just may state, that for the same price you can get by far better value on Boracay eg. the Red Coconut direct on the beach including pool and fitnessroom or the Seabird for about 40% of the price we paid just a minute nearer to the beach from Guilius Bamboo Resort.
On the home page, the state to accept credit card, but for doing the 50% downpayment, they did not want to accept my master card, so we did a moneytrasfer on shared exspenses. While arriving at the hotel, they did want to make us pay additional 20% as they stated, from our transfer their bank did take them nearly PHP 3000 away (we transfered PHP 18 350.-- and did pay arround ā¬ 40 on exspenses on our side too).
Finally I did want to do my last payment while checking out by credit card, which they did not want to accept only while adding up 3.5% (!).
After long and unamusing discussions, the management did offer us a deduction of PHP 1000 which is less than 4% for our sleepless nights (only on NYE it was quiet-but here we didnĀ“t want to sleep ourselfs ;-).
This is simply ridiculous.
Finally it was a rip off due to late order.
While writing this it just comes up to my mind, that on one day, they have been running out of towels, so we had to wait for more than an hour before we could ge our shower and prepare our selfs for the evening.
We were there in June and despite it raining every evening in Manila, the weather was perfect in Boracay, it rained in the wee hour of the morning instead, which gives us clear sky during our day time.
Nice room, comfortable bed, decent AC, friendly staff, great location.
The not so good,
No phone in the room, no "do not disturb" sign to hang on the door outside so if you have a lie in then your room won't get cleaned and you won't get fresh towels, wifi was very slow and hardly worked.
When I arrived at this hotel I went straight into the bathroom for a shower and the shower was broken. I had to go downstairs (no telephone in the room) and ask to be moved to another room with a working shower which they were very reluctant to do. Instead they offered to let me use a shower located in another room for the 9 days that I was there. I point blank refused this and I demanded to be moved to a room with a working shower, after all I paid for the room and I wasn't going through the hassle of walking between two different rooms several times per day. It was like pulling teeth and they insisted that I use the shower in the other room but eventually the hotel management agreed to move me to another room.
Being put into a room with a broken shower in the first place is ridiculous and then having to negotiate with management through their staff member to be moved to another room with a shower that does work is unheard off, so my advice to the management at Giulius Boracay is to brush up on your customer service skills also management should be more hands on and provide a face to face interaction with their customers. Take charge of the situation don't just it leave to your staff to deal with.
Other than that it was fairly decent and once I was moved to another room I enjoyed my stay there.
A noisy area, music at night, building work all day.
Curtains at least, were nice and thick to block morning sun.
No tv remote.
1. The room was really clean, with staff being attentive to details.
2. Location, very suitable for people who doesn't want the loud music and the loud highway. Situated few walks from the city centre, dmall and of course the beach.
3. Affordability - this property is really affordable and with that very tasty breakfast, you would surely enjoy it.
4. Goes to rate the customer service - staff in this property are really accommodating, pleasant smiles every time you come in and out of the property. Asking if you need something that would make your life a bit easier. Kudos to the staff and to the owner as well. Great team, great vibe.
5. Overall customer experience - EXCELLENT! Everything was perfect when I stayed at this property. The next time I visit Boracay, I would surely be back at this property.
For people planning to visit, book this hotel and you will definitely experience the excellent customer service that they give.
This gives me hope that customer service in the hospitality industry has still a lot to offer and these people here gave me hope.
