Only reason I have given 2 star instead of 1 is because location is OK and being beachfront. This hotel is located on station 3 but close to station 2. Beach area infront of hotel was quite nice and clean, however note that you cannot smoke, vape or eat on the beach (fine of 2000 peso if caught). Now to the negatives. The hotel staff are very clueless and seem like they do not have much experience. The massage parlours in the hotel was not very good, I suffered from a really bad neck pain after my massage. The hotel is in real desperate need of renovation, it is really run down. The restaurant seems to never be serving food and when ordering drinks you have to repeat yourself about 3 times before actually being served. The bedrooms were uncomfortable, bad lighting and the shower hot water didn't work some days. Hotel tried to charge me for some small stains on the bed sheets which I contested and eventually after some arguments they backed down. Live music being played till 12am which could be heard into the bedrooms. Overall a pathetic experience and because of that reason made me not like borocay as a holiday destination.

I was really disappointed, dissatisfied and regretful about this hotel and the staff. When we arrived in the hotel I asked for any room which is ocean view because when I called last two weeks ago from abroad the receptionist told me when we arrive in the hotel inform the receptionist that you want to upgrade the room. But unfortunately the receptionist Erika told me it was fully booked. I asked if there's any pool view, but after a couple of minutes as I insisted she finally confirmed that there is available room. First day we used the bathroom, the drainage was clogged it was a big mess because it was flooding all over the bathroom. The amenities it was not complete, no facial tissue only toilet paper and no hand towels. The body wash was finished also so we need to call them to replenish. Breakfast was included in our reservation, and if you arrived at "8am sharp " the bread is always finished and they were not replenishing it, even fruits and some condiments like butter they didn't bothered to replenished it. The receptionist told me "ah mam because they are eating fast that's why it's already finished." Every other day they said they are changing the bed sheets and blanket but the blanket was still the same, as I know because there were marks at the same location of the sheets. Our last day today and I asked for a bottle of water but to my surprise even if still morning and our check out was 12noon, they cannot provide a water bottle anymore. I paid until the last day, but just a small bottle of water they couldn't provide their guest. What a shame!. Today I approached Mr. Jeffrey Layto the front office assistant, I asked who is there manager and can I talk to them. He told me all of them were off today and he asked me what is my concern. And this to my surprised he told me that it's not allowed to give the name of his managers. This was the first time I heard that to a hotel staff. How come that it's not allowed?? you are working in a hospitality industry but you don't know how to accommodate your guest. After that he didn't even give any effort to help me regarding our concerns. He doesn't know the LEAP recovery. There were no concerns from him and he didn't bother to apologize or ask the staff. Even Erika the receptionist she was like a deaf she doesn't care at all, but the fact that she was aware of what was happening.

Been so many hotels in Boracay, but I think this could’ve been my not so good accommodation so far.
PROS: -The breakfast buffet offers a variety of choices -The bar and happy hour at night is at reasonable price. -The room is spacious enough for couples -The hotel is beach front. -The pool is huge.
CONS: -The room is quite smelly, I’m not sure if that came from the comfort room or from the cabinet. (We do not use the cabinet as we feel like the bad smell came from that area.
-We do not have a phone signal inside our room. As in “no service” at all. So we have to go out of the room just to make a call
-WIFI is weak
-The room needs a little lighting pa, it’s quite dark.

For an old hotel its maintained quite nicely. The rooms are clean and have lots of surface areas. Their furnitures are those of kind that will last a long time and has already an antique feel to it.
It was really a surprise about the quality of their materials. From the tiles, furnitures, embroided linens, new curtains and even the shower curtains which exceeded our expectations for real.
They have a great beacfront location and their swimming pool is huge with a designated kids area that our daughter loves!
They could improve I think on the overall presentation of the main lobby like detailed cleaning. They still have fairy lights and christmas decors in August
And as the title of my review. I LOST MY WALLET after we had our dinner in their resto. But our server Christian found it and anticipated our return on that same night and returned it to me! That kind of attitude, you cannot teach that. And that kind of honesty and attitude are worth more than a 5-star rating! Thank you again Christian and Golden Phoenix Boracay you have good people!
Thank you so much!

Terrible customer service. Checkin online said 2pm and when I arrived they said check in was 3pm despite no where online stating it. Also charged cash deposit for room which was not disclosed ahead of time. Otherwise decent rooms and would be 6/10. Nice location on the beach and walking distance to a lot of restaurants/bars. Music can be loud at night and there were multi power outages but didn’t last long.

The hotel works because it's close to the beach, and the restaurant is good. Breakfast is acceptable for a European, but nothing more.
The rooms are old-fashioned. The shower and toilet have almost no pressure. The furniture is old and dirty, and some sockets are sticking out of the wall. The elevator works only intermittently, as the staff reserve it for their own use, to the detriment of guests, who are housed on the top floor and enjoy an unobstructed view, much better than that of the guests.
The view from the bedroom window was of an ugly, dilapidated chicken coop. An average two-star hotel, no more. Clearly not worth the price or the rating on sites like booking or Agoda...unless you have to be Filipino to appreciate this kind of place.
Not to mention the noise and hammering in the room next door in the morning... The urge to grab the neighbor in question and smash his head against the wall.

The bar staff are amazing here, we highly recommend a visit. One of the last places in Boracay where you can drink and eat while listening to music and your feet are in the sand. The food is really good and nice prices. Long happy hours and bucket specials are perfect for groups. See you there 😁🤙

We booked for 5 nights in a family room, paid full rate and...
1. Food was terrible, even the Chinese restaurant that was way overpriced was so terrible. Breakfast was so bad that after the second day, we went out to eat breakfast instead. They even wanted to charge us extra because we could not eat the terrbile food....we were not the "clean plate hero".
2. Cheap equipment -- aircon leaked, minibar did not work, not even chilled, terrible TV. We wanted to change the minibar so we can put some drinks in it, but they said that the minibar was working properly (not even room tempurature) and did not want to change. They made us looked stupid like we did not know whether the minibar was working or not. Finally after complaining to the front desk, they changed to a half decent minibar. Aircon was dripping water after the first night.
3. No towels - everyday we asked for beach towels, but always get the same answer, we run out and the laundry has not bring to the front, use the room towels instead.
4. Not enough beach chairs -- for the number of rooms they have at this hotel, they only have about 10 chairs on the beach. We had to walk down to station 3 for some decent chairs.
5. No wifi in room -- only wired connection, so if you have Ipad or phones, you cant connect. For the amount we paid, we expect much better. The wifi on the restaurant does not work and cannot connect.
6. The staffs are friendly and always have a smile, but the management is terrible. We want to check out early, but they insisted to charge us the full rate for the duration of our reservation. If we paid full rate, not discounted, we should be able to check out early if we did not like the hotel.
We definitely would not recommend this hotel as there are much better choices in Boracay.

I have just returned home after having a solo expedition of my own native country. I've totally enjoyed my stay at Golden Phoenix Hotel, Boracay - Facilities were clean, room a bit overly decorated and the bed was a touch too firm for my liking but all in all it was a nice hotel. The room I've got was room 4017 and it's on the top floor with a massive balcony overlooking the beach. I mean when I say it was massive, the area was bigger than the room itself. The staff were friendly and courteous especially my favourite person Marlon whom I met when he pick-up the massage mattress from my room and he was such a happy person and so easy to talk with. I practically wanted to adopt this young cause he's a total breath of fresh air to me. He provide service with a smile and a decent well-presented young man. One criticism is the shower/bathtub combination in the room was very impractical. You need to sit inside the bathtub (I mean sit not stand) and get the hand-held shower which has been attached very low with a short cord and that's why you can't stand while showering...it's an accident waiting to happen every time I showered. Other than that, I totally enjoyed my stay and will return again if they fix the issue with the shower/bathtub in Room 7
