This is my third time staying at this hotel, second time post covid lockdown. In early March I was prepared to accept that there were teething problems post covid, unfortunately these were still evident a month later. The rooms are comfortable but standards are slipping. The wifi is poor and roomsafe was not working. Our balcony was dirty and lots of bird poo on the railing. The biggest dissapointment is the breakfast. In 2020 the guests were mostly Korean, the breakfast stood out as being very high quality and the service coped with a high number of guests. Now the food is poor, little choice and despite the reduced selection everything keeps running out The bread for toast is still wet from being defrosted, the supply of cutlery and crockery is constantly in short supply. Also the policy of playing loud music on the rooftop all day long means that it is difficult to take an afternoon siesta as the bass note penetrates three floors down. Each night of our 3 night stay has had loud music going on past midnight. Speaking to local residents we found oit the hotel has received many complaints about noise but still continues. The staff are very pleasant, but the policy of having many unpaid OJT( on job training) students means that requests from guests are not always actioned in a reasonable timeframe. I cannot recommend this hotel when nicer, quieter and beter run options are easily found.

This is a lengthy read. But if you have plans of staying in this hotel, this is a must read. I have emailed the exact text to the General Manager of the hotel 2 days after we left the island. I made a follow up email a week after the first. He has not replied in my 2 emails. He only answers via text message and only apologizes. Very disappointing. "GM Jun, As I have advised you during our conversation in the evening of April 16, 2022, Saturday, I am writing this letter to appraise you in details of our disappointment and dissatisfaction with the service and facilities of Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort. It all started even before our actual stay in your hotel. Hereunder is the chronology of events for your information. October 8, 2021 – I have booked a 5-day, 4 nights stay in your hotel via Agoda with the following details: Booking ID 627756664 Reference ID 16494948291 Deluxe Room March 15, 2022 – Since our vacation is already nearing, I have sent an email to info@boracayoceanclub.com.ph to request for confirmation of our booking and also inquired on other concerns. I waited until March 21, 2022 and yet still no reply. It was on the same date when I texted the hotel’s mobile number and asked for a reply. Instead of an email reply, I received a call from a certain Ms Roa and was advised that my booking is confirmed. The person in charge of replying emails was advised to be on leave, hence, the non-reply of my email. She also assured me that our room is of good location since it is facing the beach front. April 13, 2022 – We arrived in your hotel at around almost 12:00 noon and we asked if we could request for early check-in. We were advised that there is no available room yet which we fully understand. Instead of leaving the hotel vicinity, we instead had our lunch in your restaurant. Around past 1:30 p.m., we were advised that a room is already available and we were grateful for the assistance. We were led to Room 3304. At Room 3304, upon checking the comfort room, I found out that the toilet flush is not working well and water in the shower is very poor. We also can not connect to the room’s wifi, the cable box of the television set is not working. The room phone is also not working. Both of the lampshades can not also be turned on. We informed the front desk about this and an IT technician and maintenance personnel were sent. After quite some time, the wifi router worked, the television set worked, lampshade bulbs were replaced (one worked and the other still did not). As per the maintenance personnel, they can not do anything about the water supply as maintenance work is in progress. As we try to fix our things, it was then when we found out that ants are all over the dresser. Thankfully, maintenance staff (they seem to be OJT personnel) were also present in the adjacent room and we were able to borrow an insecticide spray. However, things had already been very inconvenient for us as basically Room 3304 is a room in “bad-shape”. We requested to be transferred to another room and was eventually moved to Room 3305. Room 3305 is better than Room 3304 though water specifically of the shower is still poor, one of the lampshades is still not working, the tv set is not connected to a cable box (but a smart tv) and the room phone is still not working. We were able to finally settle to our new room at past 5:00 pm. Already stressed and tired. Our first day in our supposed vacation for our 3rd Year Anniversary (and 1st being physically together because of the lockdowns of the pandemic) is already ruined. We never expected that this will be our situation considering that we requested for a “good room” in our email directly to you hotel and our specific note to the Agoda app. The succeeding days had been tolerable as we did not stay in the hotel most of the time. We leave the hotel usually around 9am and comes back late in the afternoon. We were able to use the infinity pool once and the ground pool twice. It is however notable that when we need assistance, we have to personally go down to the front desk and request personally of our needs. The mobile phone number which is taped on your keycard folder that says “front office” is usually can not be reached or not being answered when called. I have personally asked the front desk people why they are not answering the calls and why it is usually can not be reached. The front desk people advised me that the mobile phone might be inside the office and the number is actually of the “Reservations”. I find it very odd, confusing and disappointing that the number being advised to be reached for assistance is not being efficiently attended to. The fact that our room do not have a working phone is already a challenge, but hotel staff not being attentive to hotel guest calls is an additional insult to the customers. I will be attaching screenshots of my call logs for your reference. April 16, 2022 – Our last night in the island and things have been worse. As we try to bathe after our quick swim at the pool, we found out that there is no water supply in the faucet and the shower. Bidet and toilet flush was however working. We tried calling the number of the front desk but nobody was picking it up. Cold and wet, my partner went to the front desk and reported the water issue of the room. He did report the situation twice, meaning he has to go down from the 3rd floor to the ground floor of the building two times. Eventually, a Maintenance personnel went up who also seem to be confused of the situation and did not know what to do. We asked him but he himself can not give us a clear answer. Imagine, it was our last night in the island, we were cold, already hungry, frustrated and we can not even take a bath. I again called the front desk number and was fortunately answered. In total disappointment, it was already then when I requested to speak with the Manager. As you may have observed during our face-to-face conversation, I am already tired, upset and very much disappointed. Our last night in the island was already ruined. Though you have provided us with an upgraded room, it was already late when we left the hotel as we have to pack and again unpack our bags during the room transfer and still freshen up. We were supposed to have our massage but when we came, no masseur are anymore available. Some of the nearby decent restaurants have already closed their kitchen and we ended up eating at Mesa in Station 2 which is around 20 minutes walk, one-way from the hotel. Our last night had been ruined as both of us are already irritable and did not enjoy it as much as we have planned. Then we have to hurry to go back to the hotel as our flight the following day is also early. Luck may not be on our side because when we came back to the hotel, our card key is not working and you are still to help us by bringing the master key. That same night, inasmuch as I wanted to enjoy the room that we were transferred to, it saddened me to compare the disparity of service that the guests are receiving from your hotel. Yes, it is understandable that the Superior Room looks way better than the Deluxe Room as the latter is cheaper compared to the earlier. But what struck me the most is the amount of water available to the Superior Room than ours. The bidet water supply of the Superior Room is much better than the shower pressure that we received in the Deluxe Room. I challenge you and your staff to take a bath in the Deluxe Rooms 3304 and 3305 and compare it with the bidet water pressure of the Superior Room. You will understand what I mean. I believe that water, the most basic as it is, should be equally enjoyed by all guests because they are all paying. Guests avail the services of hotels thinking that they will enjoy amenities, facilities and services that are not available in their homes. This is not what we get from your hotel. And we definitely deserve much better. I want to discuss more but my thoughts just make me so sad and anxious. Instead of reminiscing our supposed to be wonderful vacation celebrating our 3rd year, frustrating and disappointing experiences in your hotel ruined most part of it. In this regard, we would like to seek action from your part. I demand that all our concerns be answered one by one. We do not want other future guests to experience the same. It is rude and unfair to shortchange paying clients. It is your and the hotel’s responsibility that customers be given the service that they deserve and value for money that they surely worked hard for. I am also giving you the responsibility to act on how you and the hotel could make amends on your shortcoming to us. It is not only our hard earned money that was wasted but our time and supposed good memories. I will be waiting for your urgent response."

This hotel has a lot of potential, but unfortunately the style of management will assure we won't be back. Took three nights complaining about the shower not draining and the bathroom flooding before the issue was resolved. Strict limit of two towels per day, even if you're using them to clean up the flood water. Water is not replenished daily and nowhere to buy water anywhere near by. The rooms however are indeed spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The biggest issue here is the absolute disaster which is the onsite restaurant. Undercooked pizza, dry, inedible pasta and hour long waiting times are standard. Tried breakfast once, never to return. Even by Filipino standards, the food is abysmal. The majority of staff are OJTs and are unfamiliar with the menu. Overall, take the room if it's cheap but avoid the restaurant at all costs.

If you value customer service, cleanliness, food, drink, competence, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I cannot explain just how bad they are at running a hotel. The turn down service is non existent. You can ask them to turn you room, but they do not listen. They were refusing me check in even when I showed them legitimate booking through American Express. They STILL were trying to keep me from checking in. It took me over 2 hours to get my room keys after having to call American Express multiple times to talk some sense in management here. I almost had to have Amex refund my car to pay in person because of their incompetence. As fate would have it we tried to eat here once. Food was aweful. I did not give this establishment anymore of my money and was ashamed of myself for even staying in this hotel. I e never seen a group of people worse at running a hotel. PLEASE USE MY EXPERIENCE AND AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!

I have stayed in Boracay Ocean Club twice and I must say it hs been the best experience. My first stay was duit g the lockdown in August 2021 where I stayed with them for two weeks and next was for 3 weeks for my and NYE 2022 trip. First is the management and staff has been like family. You will be greeted by a warm smile and saying goodbye was always hard especially with a long stay guest like me. The rooms are beautiful as shown in the photo and it comes with a bath tub for the superior room where i stay at. The hotel has two pools that guest can enjoy, A unli samyup night with delicious korean spread and of course a videoke with the biggest LED screen in the island! Value for money while having a superb service thats why being a long stay guest is not like breaking the bank! I cant wait to go back again to Boracay Ocean Club!
