CHILLAX is a container concept "ECO Flashpackers". We shipped all our materials to site and then upcycled the containers for use in the structure of the building. Our swimming pool is also made from a container and all our grey water is filtered for our gardens. 188m to Diniwid Beach (best beach on Boracay with Spiderhouse and Wahine Beach Bar) and 400m to the new CityMall.
Upon entering our room, it had a funky smell due to it being not cleaned or maintained for a long time. You can clearly see the dirt around the corners and feel the dust on the floor. The toilet was dirty with the bidet broken. There were no basic toiletries. We have to ask a towel which they have only one available (we followed up the second towel a day after). All of these give us the impression of indifference and unpreparedness towards the necessities of their guests. More worryingly, we suspect that the bed is filled with bed fleas/bugs since my partner had increasingly suffered bites as the days go by (we stayed for 3 nights). It is such a shame considering the positive reviews we have read online before and at the beginning of the pandemic. Unfortunately, it seems Chillax has been "abandoned" and lost its credibility as one of the best hostels in Boracay.…

Stayed here last January 3 and there were other foreigners staying in our room. The atmosphere of the place is really great and the person behind the desk (I'm sorry I forgot your name) was really helpful and friendly. Sadly, there was no A/C during that time because of the typhoon so it wasn't the hotel's fault since they had generators. This is in a far bit of Bora so it's a long ride from the jetty port. The Diniwid beach road gets kinda dark at night since there's few street lights (or maybe because of the power outage). The hostel is near the beach, around a 3-5 minute walk. Loved my stay here and would definitely go back.

· Well thought out and organized in terms of comfort. Each room has a terrace with a table and chairs, as well as a dryer for things. It is possible to cook in the kitchen. The most friendly host and staff. Care is taken for leisure: there are board games, darts, movie screenings with popcorn in the evenings, "fun starts" are organized)) there is information about all possible options for activity: yoga, boxing, diving, tours, kiting. The showers have hot water and good pressure. 5 minutes to the beach. On the beach, a good bar-restaurant with a DJ and a menu with vegetarian options. I am tall - 185 cm, the bed was short for me, I could not straighten my legs. In my presence, the rooftop pool was closed for repairs.

I was in a shared room of 8, which was adequate for its purpose. I like that the bunkbeds were all placed on one side of the wall, which meant you don't have somebody parallel to you but only the wall. Both ends of the bed are fully covered so there is privacy. The rooms have no windows, but since the whole room made of a shipping container is tucked into the side of the hill and doesn't get hit by direct sunlight, it stays cool all day long. You may need to turn on the AC to keep the humidity low, as the air may get stuffy, especially if all 8 beds are occupied. Each room has its veranda where guests can chill in the open air. I visited Boracay in one of the nicest months of the year, so it was cool, sunny and breezy all day long. The best time to visit Boracay really would be in January and February when tourists aren't also that many still. Soundproofing of rooms is great! It's something that the owner clearly invested much in. Once the door's closed, everything feels calm. I was in one of the rooms directly below the lounge and reception area. You could hear some banging on the floor on occasions (moving of table, for example) but this didn't happen much so wasn't much of a bother. I also like the location of the hotel itself. It's in a small community away from the very commercial and congested part of Boracay, so you live around locals, which is great if you like to be immersed. City Mall is close by as well, a 10-minute walk up. Diniwid Beach, which is only a 5-minute walk away, connects to the more popular White Beach through a pathway around the limestone rocks, which makes for a nice tour of that part of Boracay Island. Take note: hotel reception, restaurant, lounge, entertainment area, and pool are 200 steps up from the main road. You may choose rooms at the bottom of the hill though. But I find that being just below reception meant I didn't have to go up and down the whole flight of stairs all the time. The stairs are quite steep actually. Reception is clean and orderly. Toilet--at least in my room--needed regular cleaning as it stank a couple of times. Trash bins seem difficult to open as well. Breakfast is included and sufficient--I liked my two eggs, fresh toasts, fruits and coffee in my three-night stay. This got me through the whole morning. Daniel, the owner and manager, was very helpful. He provided tips on where to go and what to do for a first-timer to the island that was me. He even invited me to join him (and I did) and other hotel guests to join in the Ati-atihan festivities that weekend, which was really great fun. Hotel staffers G, Bella, Nico and Jerome were very nice as well. Look for their resident "CEO" named Casper. Really cute. :-) I was lucky to have checked in the day after all power, water and Internet were fully back in supply on the island. This meant I didn't have to go through the very difficult experiences that guests from December 25 to January 14 had because of the damage caused by a huge typhoon. Overall, it was a great first-time experience, and I'd definitely recommend the place. If I go back to Boracay, I'd stay here again.…

I stayed 2 nights in the hostels and it was really good. The girls working there are super friendly and nice, willing to help you with everything. Even they took my belongings and store it in their safe. During my stay there was no power in the rooms all the time, the generator was running most of the time, but not a big deal. It near the beach all the mall, and its really nice and quiet area what for me was a big plus considering I came there just to relax for 2 days before heading for more adventures :) Casper the little poodle was such a refreshment and was nice seeing him around, make the stay even more nicer :) The breakfast was also very delicious :) thanks guys, if I ever come back to Borocay, will definitely stay with you again :)

I stayed in a female dorm at Chillax Flashpackers, Boracay. Transportation services were easy to secure from the jetty (trike, air conditioned van, motorbike) to Chillax. I loved the concept for Chillax - recycled shipping containers. The containers were spacious, secure, safe and clean. The shower and toilet in our dorm was clean and nice. The beds were SO comfy, and upon raising this feature to staff, I was informed you can flip the mattress depending on whether you prefer a soft or firm finish. This is a particularly thoughtful feature as I was informed guests from different parts of the world have different preferences for sleeping. Wifi was strong, the outdoor and communal areas are nice, and the views are great. The location is particularly good if you want to be a little bit away from the party/action, but still within a short distance of everything. Dan Cardon, the GM at Chillax, (and all of his team) were super friendly and professional and made my stay most memorable. I appreciated the information about the island - tours, new restaurants and bars, promotions at different places, etc. I joined in on a Spartan workout session with Dan, which guests can also do. Highly recommend! The purpose of my stay was to train at Legacy Gym, and although I moved to the gym for the remainder stay, I would most definitely stay at Chillax again. Thanks to Dan and his team for such great hospitality.…

Good value for money. No regrets. Location is a bit far considering the current road situation. But beach is walking distance. No restaurant around tho. This is for people who just sleep then start their day early. Or just wants to chill. There is nearby mall, you need to take motorbike for 20pesos.
