It was one on my bucket list to travel alone so this is my first solo trip locally here in the Philippines I chose Boracay because as far as I remember, the last time I was here was 2016 so lots of things changed.
Alta vista de Boracay was located at Yapak which is away from the crowd and if you wanted to relax it's a great location. They offer a free shuttle service every hour going to Jollibee which is near the D’mall and if you want to go to Puka Beach they're also offering shuttle which is 5 mins away from the hotel by car.
I stayed here for 5days and 4nights in a loft type room. The room was spacious and clean!
I also tried their food from the room service. They really have good vegetarian options. I was impressed how big the serving is. I ordered curried vegetables soup and vegetables crispy tofu, stir fried greens and mushroom is a must try vegetarian food!
Special thanks to Ms.Claire from the front desk who handles my smooth check in and check out and she always greets me with a warm smile! The concierge team was very attentive to the guests needs and even anticipates the things that I need. And also to the wonderful breakfast crew in L’Altura who always greets me and make sure to look after me during my stay. Lastly to their Front office manager Mr. Kevin Reyes who is very hands on, attentive and accommodating to his guests!
My entire stay at the hotel was totally amazing! I would definitely go back to this hotel.
Good job to the team for making sure to provide the genuine care and comfort for their guests! I'll definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

I had a hard time communicating with the concierge until I decided to raise my concerns to their facebook page which was very accommodating. I was then introduced to Ms. Rochelle who made sure my concerns were addressed.
Rooms are a bit far from the lobby unlike from other hotels where you just use an elevator or ride a golf cart to your room. (About 3min walk depending on your room building)
Their restaurant is currently closed and you have to pre order your breakfast for the next day. You might want to consider this if you will arrive with an empty stomach just like us.
Their shuttles are scheduled only 4x a day to and from Dmall. (Also another thing to consider) we had to pay extra 300php for a shuttle ride when we arrived just so we can go to the dmall since they have no restaurant where we can eat and it's already 1pm. They call it special ride when you want to ride the shuttle out of their schedule.
It was around 10-15mins away from the "city" where the life of boracay is. (In our case we don't mind since we like it better when it's peaceful around) but if you like the party life and be near the stores you might want to consider this as well.
You may also consider that their location is away from the beach at least 5mins. But they have free shuttle which also has time schedule.
Staff was very accommodating though. Thank you. The pool has a relaxing view especially on our stay where we had it for ourselves.
They also have a spa where you can relax after a full day of activities. I suggest you prebook for they can only accommodate few.
Overall I would recommend this hotel for people who want a peaceful and relaxing stay away from the crowd. Thank you

We went to Alta Vista for a work trip as a group of 30+, just as the alert levels came down. And the little things they did made it worth the trip just as much as their grand preparations.
You get the welcome drinks and the assistance to the room. You are greeted by a welcome message in the room with very local/nature-loving touch, with some snacks and cola. The staff, though we know are understaffed, were very pleasant. You feel them rushing just before our activities, but resume to being warm and accommodating as soon as we got through it.
Their restaurant is wide and spacious, this is where we held our sessions. We still wore masks, but you feel safe more because we had more than enough space, and the breeze just goes through the restaurant and the pool. There's no buffet breakfast yet, but they serve plated meals. If you're staying in for lunch or dinner, they can also arrange it for you.
They have scheduled shuttles to go down to D'Mall Boracay. And knowing they are understaffed, I sometimes do not request for it anymore. But their staff Herbert would always be attentive and just stop us on heading down to the gate to commute, to offer the shuttle instead.
The rooms and shuttle smell so nice. I guess it's their signature scent, it's synced that you almost know it's Alta Vista when you ride the shuttle and enter the room after a day of being in the beach. It smells so relaxing. And they have such a nice uniform with their hats on the male staff. From their airport welcoming committee, to their bellboys, it makes for a more summer vibe.
It's not the hippest location in the block, with the New Coast coming up and about, but this resort is just the right mix of getting soaked in nature - just around the corner of the white sand beach and just immersed in trees and wonderful landscapes up the hill - with graciously accommodating staff.
Good for families, if you have babies or oldies, because you do not hear the party music and crowd bustling along the main beach, with just the right amount of amenities with their pools and jacuzzi.

There were alot of misses than hits during our stay. Maybe it was just bad timing but it only showed their lack of preparedness. Management did not step up from their situation, took days to recover and take action. But kudos to some of the staff who were able to deliver great service.
We went here the day after the typhoon hit boracay. We were welcomed by darkness because there was no electricity in the whole place. We had no idea that the condition of the place was so bad; confused an panicked upon check in, i asked one of the ladies from the reception area whether they could provide us with a lamp or a candle, she didnt answer but instead walked out on me. Good thing there was another lady in the reception who was soooo patient with my questions and other guests as well.
We had to endure the first night without electricity (succeeding nights, thankfully, we were transferred to a room with electricity, i dont really care if we were downgraded so long as we have electricity than on the first night wherein we were upgraded to a suite but without electricity).
there was no breakfast buffet because the kitchen & restaurant were severely damaged, so had to line up and wait to claim our packed breakfast. This caused delay in all of the guests activities lined up for that day and a build up in the line for the shuttle. This went on for our whole 5-day stay.
We went to another hotel (5 mins away from alta vista) to visit our relatives on our 2nd day and they too, were hit by the typhoon but they still managed to keep the place clean and presentable. Unlike alta vista wherein the whole place was really in a mess, debris everywhere, understandable but only to some extent. it was only after 3 days when they cleaned some of the area and start to recover from their situation.
guests have already paid for their whole stay there and regardless of the situation, the management should've stepped up to make the guests still feel safe and comfortable.
What the management lacked is a plan in case a similar kind of situation happens, its not like its the first time a typhoon has hit Boracay. regardless of the degree of severity and damage, they should have anticipated these kinds of situations, estimated their supply and trained all their staff so they can be prepared at all times. And also, they should've made it easier for guests to get a refund, especially when all of the atms in boracay were offline.
Lastly, since they have the largest capacity (408 rooms) in all hotels of boracay, they should've added more shuttles, 3 shuttles was really not enough for all guests. There was this one time were we had to wait for 2 hrs just to ride the shuttle from d'mall.
Im just really disappointed. Maximum patience and understanding were given. Hope the management can improve and do something about this.

Dear MariaMakesReviews, Warm greetings from Alta Vista de Boracay. Thank you for your feedback during your most recent stay with us and for choosing Alta Vista de Boracay over all of the possible accommodations in the island of Boracay. It is with considerable concern to have learned that we let you down on several occasions. I was in the resort during the typhoon, and for two consecutive days, it disrupted all of our means of communication with our Manila office, hence, unable to report all the damages occurred from the typhoon. Due to this, our Manila office was not able to give an accurate information to our value guests. Our team did all their best to bring back the damaged facilities and to cater guests needs. We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate experience that this has brought you. Hopefully, we could make amends on your future stay with us and to deliver the usual service that we offer. Thank you and have a pleasant day. Best regards, Kevin Reyes Front Office Manager

My co-teachers planned to have a "Despidida" for me and we decided to have it @Alta Vista. I brought my family with me and booked for one night just to see and try their room under promo. We never did regret, 'twas worth the price! The room was big enough to accommodate us three (me, my partner, & our 17month old daughter. Though the place is quite far from D'mall, it has a shuttle for free rides.
The place is really spotless. I considered their location as a preserved beauty of Boracay where you can find peace through lush forest-like, pure crisp air, chirping birds of different varieties. The pool is also an ideal spot where you could take Instagrammable photos. They also provided towels for walk-in visitors that only wants to dip in the pool. The hotel staff were all hospitable, polite and attentive to all your needs.
To add, the breakfast was also scrumptious! Thank you Alta Vista Boracay! We will come back, in God's will and guidance. 😇

Worst experience. Boracay had suffered a typhoon. Nobody at the hotel was injured, thankfully. We booked in for 2 nights over New Year's Eve with booking.com. One week after the typhoon minimal repairs had been made. Smelly damp room. No breakfast which we had paid for. No wifi. No transport. No pool (full of broken glass one week later). Not a good location. I always believe reviews are very subjective but I would strongly recommend staying anywhere else rather than here.

Dear Escape818021, We would like to thank you for your feedback and we do appreciate the time and energy in detailing your most recent stay with us. The typhoon Ursula did struck us badly last December 25, 2019 and indeed, it dealt great damage in the resort. It halted all of our means of communication for 2 days hence, we were not able to reconcile for help with our Manila office right away. Our staff did their best to cater to our guests as well as ensuring their safety and security. We had limited supplies which was evident during our breakfast since our restaurant was severely damaged, and some of our facilities like the pool was on out of order due to safety and security reasons. Our team ensured to recover this as quick as possible, everyone did their best to have these facilities be used by our guests again, as such, We deeply apologize that you were unable to enjoy your stay and not experience the usual service that we cater to our valued guests. We apologize once again that we have not met your expectations at this instance. Rest assured this is not typical of Alta Vista de Boracay as we normally handle and pay utmost attention to each and every guests. We hope to be able to provide you a more pleasant experience on your next visit and regain your confidence in the resort. Sincerely, Kevin Reyes Front Office Manager

The best get away place away from crowded stations in Boracay.Has a overlooking view and a walking distance going to Puka Beach. They have schedule trips going to boracay beach and also in puka.Rooms are spacious though it was not really a soundproof coz you can clearly hear guest from other rooms. But over all its relaxing especially on the massage spa.

Alta Vista is our go to place at Boracay! We’ve been to boracay 4x and we always love staying at Alta Vista!!!
We tried staying at other hotels in between but Alta Vista outstands the hospitality of all the other hotels we’ve stayed in.
The bed was so comfortable that it’s hard to get out! The aircon was so cold that it refreshes us whenever we came back from the beach. The room was always clean and tidy each and every visit! The jacuzzi pool was so relaxing after a long day from the beach!
Kindly look for Rochel, Ike, Jhona, Joy as they are the warmiest people who’ll be there to assist you!
For our shuttle service Herbert, Ray, Genesis and Acer are always on the go whenever we needed a ride!
We thought we love Boracay but our heart goes to Alta Vista!
We’re surely to come back soon! Thank you Alta Vista! ❤️

Breathtaking balcony view from the room that is clean. And fresh that has comfortable beds and pillows and a bath tub. Wifi is great, very good signal...And the hot water is working well. The overlooking infinity pool is beautiful and relaxing, nice to take photos specially in the morning while having breakfast. The free shuttle is one of their best service for guests. The staff are ok pleasant and polite. Highly reccomendable. 👍👍👍

The hotel is generally good, but everything is very, very far away. Puka beach is bad, unequipped, no sun loungers, no umbrellas. The bus from the hotel didn’t take you there at all, you had to walk everywhere to get there, and it’s uphill and downhill, because the hotel is located on the mountain. We went to the beach at the neighboring Movenpik hotel. The bed and towels are not changed, there is no cleaning. You have to beg for everything around, like alms. Every day they begged for water, shampoo, coffee, sugar... well, this is just monstrous. Separate about breakfast song. The hotel description says buffet, don’t believe it. Only one dish can be ordered from the menu. The food is unique, not for us. We survived only on omelette and toast. However, towards the end of our vacation, a Chinese group stopped by and immediately made a buffet , which is difficult for them to name. You don’t even have to think about fruits, there aren’t any. True, the staff is friendly, like all Filipinos. But this does not brighten up the stay in this hotel. The territory is of course beautiful, green. But this did not make us happy at all. This hotel is not I recommend. Look for something better. There is practically no beach, the food is rubbish, the distance is incredible.
