The Tides Hotel Boracay (room 324) +Location. In the middle of 'D Mall' with many stores, supermarket and restaurants around. 100m walk to the beach. +Friendly and helpful staff. +Swimming pool, bar, restaurant, toilet and shower on top floor (3rd floor). +1 bath towel per person can be changed once per day. +Air condition (little noisy), Refrigerator, TV, good wi-fi. +Check in time is 14:00 (not 12:00 as in the booking confirmation), but we could get bath towels and stay at the swimming pool before we got the room. +Live music at night on top floor. +Can wash the feets at the entrance from all sand from the beach. +Water machine in the hall for drinking, also boiling water. -No elevators. -No breakfast buffet, order from a menu, not much to choose from, see my picture of the menu. -The shower head was loosed, and didn't stay in place on the holder. +/- Toilet and bathroom is separated, also the basin is outside the toilet/bathroom. Didn't try their barbeque buffet, kinda smokey from the barbeque when sitting by the bar. When room is booked, there is no refund or cancellation available. Didn't check the gym, I think it cost as there was on a post (see my picture), maybe free for us who stays there. Transfer from airport cost 1800 php per person if booked from hotel, but we used MyBoracayGuide instead. Remember you must book a place to stay to be able to take the boat to the island. Check my pictures.

* The hotel does not provide clear rates (in the 10-minutes I spoke to their front-desk officer, he'd given me three different rates for the Same Travel Dates) * Tides Hotel Does Not Honor Senior Citizen / PWD discounts on the room and extra person rates. They said it is due to "current promo rates" that they already had for our travel dates. Even though when asked if the promo was covered by a DTI Permit, they could not provide any proof of this - which "DTI clarified that double discounting will apply only for discounts and promotions covered by a DTI permit." under R.A. 9994

Response from The Tides Hotel Boracay, Marketing at The Tides Hotel Boracay
Responded Aug 17, 2023
Hi Crisel! Thank you for your feedback. Upon checking with our Reservations Manager, we have already given you a very discounted rate on our rooms and indeed we have honored the SC and PWD discounts despite the initial rates being a promo rate. However, we are still waiting for the complete copies of the IDs of your companions (front and back), which our Reservations Manager have already requested, but did not get a reply yet. You may kindly send the back copies of the IDs so we can finish the transaction and book the rooms under your name :) We hope this clarifies everything. Thank you.

The good: people are very nice, Filipino food is good and a great value, central location for not being beachfront, wonderful views on the roofdeck. The very bad: it is hot in the tropics and this is above average hotel. I have been to the gym a couple of times. The equipment are ok, seems clean, BUT IT IS HOT AND HUMID. There are a couple of air conditioners, but they do not work. You could seriously get a heat stroke. Stray cats walk in. The maintenance of this gym seems neglected. Sad.

Dear Guest, Thank you for posting your recent experience here at The Tides Hotel Boracay. We do appreciate your kind words on our staff's customer service, the food at our restaurant and our wonderful location in the middle of the heart of Boracay Island. It is unfortunate that the air-conditioning system at the Fitness Center is under maintenance and you experienced heat discomfort. We have facilitated and expedited the repair and replacement of the AC units. My apologies for this inconvenience. We hope to have another chance to welcome you again. Sincerely, JD Gangcuangco Operations Manager

We enjoyed our stay at the Tides Hotel in Boracay, as everything was easily accessible, and the staff were polite and friendly. I appreciate the promptness and courtesy of the Front Desk staff during our early morning checkout on March 5. They accommodated us in the transport service to the port, he obtained our tickets expeditiously, and accompanied us to Caticlan. Unfortunately, I did not get the guest service agent’s name who assisted us, but he did an excellent job. We hope to return one day, and we loved our room at number 206, the wifi connection was good, enjoyed our welcome drinks and the complimentary cocktails at the roof deck bar.

The hotel is located by the beach, but the hidden gem of this hotel is the buffet restaurant. They serve excellent Filipino food, and it’s all you can eat buffet. Also, it’s really cheap compared to other restaurants in the area. I highly recommend their restaurant to anyone visiting.

I chose the best location because it’s in station 2. Close to everything. In the middle of D’Mall . The room is spacious, clean and just right. I highly recommend Tides . The staff are all nice and accommodating. They have a band pn the 3rd floor every night. If you don’t want to go elsewhere, you can just go upstairs and enjoy the band.

Hi Noelle, Thank you for writing this review. Our location is one of our best assets since we are at the center of the island just a few steps from everything you need from restaurants, groceries, drugstores and the white beach of Boracay. Our team will be happy to know when I share your positive thoughts on staff attitude and customer service. Our Pelican Sky Bar & Restaurant is a hidden gem in the island and the perfect spot to chill while drinking your favorite cocktail and listening to our acoustic singer. We hope we made your birthday week extra special and wish you more years to come. Let us know if we can assist you on your next Boracay holiday. See you again soon! Sincerely, JD Gangcuangco Operations Manager

Almost forgot to review this place but it did leave me with a good experience. My family and myself had a lovely time staying at the Tides. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights and it was bang for our buck. It was close to restaurants, shops and grocery stores which made the trip really convenient and left us more time to enjoy ourselves. Special mention to Simon for making it a great Boracay experience. Customer service there was absolutely commendable. I was greeted with a warm smile whenever I met anyone. The rooms were spacious and modern that came with an umbrella which was a plus for me. Pros: -Complimentary beach towels. -An area by the entrance to wash the sand of the feet. -We got complimentary iced tea when we checked in while the room was being prepared. -Bidet -Free drinking water dispenser (saves you a bit of cash) -Spacious pool and a bar on the upper level. -Very comfy beds Cons: -I wish there was a microwave in the room. Would've been helpful for heating leftovers but I understand it might leave a smell in the room. Overall I had a good stay at The Tides. Hoping to visit again next year.

I've always enjoyed Mongolian Buffets and hard to mess up. Needs to be stir fried at high temperatures and using thick sauces. Ingredients looked good, but slow cooked and wet soupy with no flavor. Rather than get ingredients yourself, they do which might be due to pandemic, and if you get noodles or rice that is 95 percent of the serving.
