I stayed here 3 nights after a disaster at another resort. I was walking down the beach and saw the sign, looked at the room and was satisfied.

The Room 8 was a great fit for our family, at the end of the hall and large enough for an additional mattress without feeling too crowded.

The aircon kept us nice and cool and the shower and toilet had adequate water pressure and was pretty clean.

There is a swimsuit drying rack outside the door and nothing was taken over 3 days, so I felt that the area was secure.

There is a small seating area upstairs where we took breakfast and used the wifi. The ladies were very nice and while the actual foods took longer than I would expect to arrive at my table, it was all good. There are 2 small bathrooms in the hall right beyond the kitchen and they were small but perfectly clean and sanitary and a good idea.

The food was OK, I only ate breakfast here every day and ate other places for lunch and dinner.

My husband and I stayed here for our 5 night stay on Alona Beach, and it was basic accommodation with a larger than average room with AC and hot water. Ask to switch to a softer mattress on arrival since the beds were very hard. Clean and simple! The people were very nice and we felt very safe. It is a great location and had a lovely restaurant attached. We did get a 10% discount for booking more than 3 nights but when we looked online the prices were far cheaper than walking up and with the discount. Wifi is great at reception area only.

What we like most about Hayahay - the location is beachfront in the busiest part of Panglao (Alona beach) making it very accessible to all fun and activity places in the island, yet the quiet & fully-equipped room enabled us to have a good restful sleep at night. The room seems to have a special sound insulation installed because inside it's very quiet. We also tried the seafood at their resto and they were fresh and yummy! Thanks, Hayahay, we enjoyed our stay. :)

reserved via booking.com and got the cheapest available. requested for an early checkin around 10:30am and was accomodated, requested for a nice view, got the best one- room #1 has the direct beachfront view but with obstructions though. requested for a twin since we were not a couple and they said ok but the bedding given to us was a double (joined twin). check-in was fine but receptionist isn't accomodating, looked bored and tired and NEVER showed a smiling face. Room was ok, heater and pressure ok but sheets are not plain white which I guess was deliberately done so that the stains won't be obvious. Acu was perfect but toilet stains and shower curtain stains are evident!!! kind of grossed me out. two complimentary bottled water daily.

FOOD ay restaurant was pricey not worth the penny. staff needs yo be retrained for order accuracy and to give the orders to the right people.

Overall, stay was ok I just hoped the staff would be more friendly and accommodating. They barely smile at you like they just don't care.

I always stay at Hayahay and dive with Genesis Divers. It's the best deal on the beach. Quality of service is unmatched on Alona beach. The staff of the resort and Dive shop are far superior to the other expat run resorts. Yes I'm biased! However I have been coming to the Philippines for 25 years and sure I don't like foam mattresses but I love amazing service! Eat,Dive,Sleep repeat!

Located in the middle of alona beach you are right at the middle of everything. Thats good if you want to get around easily but terrible if your trying to sleep since the live bands on the restaurants down stairs play at an extremely high volume. Room are small and only one faces the beach. The beds are rock hard (!) and the design is outdated but on the positive side hot water works great, wifi actually works in the room, there is a safe, minibar and flat tv. Overall i would not stay here again because if the noise and the high price for low value.

I stayed in Hayahay Resort for a couple of nights with my dad.

The rooms are nicely made. Nothing too fancy but has everything you need. The room we stayed in had a good size. The bathroom was also in a good condition. It had hot! and cold water.

The staff was friendly and helpfull in all our requests.

The restaurant serves good food including fresh fish, which you can choose at the counter.
It also has some nice meatloaf and good sandwiches (bread was excellent).

The Resort owner also owns a small but really nice dive shop close by. It's called Genesis Divers. They offer all PADI courses and take you diving for a fair price. It might be little bit more expensive then some of the other dive shops but it's worth the money!

A great beach front (no roads in front) hotel. The staff are very inviting and attend to your every needs. A great spot for diving and there are many dive charters to choose from. Many beach front eateries to choose from. I love this place as it is a relaxing place to stay. The white sand beach is very clean and great for swimming. The food is cheap but of a very high standard. Would recommend staying here to anyone.

Staying at Hayahay in Panglao was definitely a great decision.

The hotel is perfectly located right on the gorgeous white powder sand beach in Alona. My room was very spacious for a double and lovely decorated. The room had A/C and fridge, hot water shower with dispenser for shampoo and shower gel (very nice!) plus oil soap. Of course there was also a flat screen TV which I didn't use and a safe box. The room was in the back, so it was very quiet.

Unfortunately my room didn't had a sea view, but there was a terrace on the first floor which I used several times and a beautiful roof garden with palm trees, sunbeds and a terrific view. The perfect place to get a tan and escape the crowds on the beach.

I felt very comfortable and safe at Hayahay. The hotel is spotless clean, the staff was smiling and helpful. I tried twice the restaurant there, the Thai Green Curry was delicious.

Another plus was the Internet connection, they told me I might not have a signal in my room, but they were wrong. I could use the WiFi in my room and surprisingly it was very fast, actually the fastest Internet connection I ever had on an Island in the Philippines.

The hotel is run by Giso, a nice and friendly German guy. He told me that Hayahay means "comfortable, cozy, fresh air" - I think he gave his hotel the perfect name. I would definitely stay here again.

The room is clean which makes it of good value. However, make sure to book through agoda because they charge 5% for credit card transactions. Also, the price at the actual location is 10 to 20% more than what you get online.

Food is ok. Location is also good of you want to be in the center of the action. Noise at the nearby bars isn't actually a nuisance to your sleep. Beachfront isn't good, make sure to go to the area at the leftmost part of the beach.

All in all, good value for money as it is clean and has all the basic things you need.
