I went to Bohol Last February 28-29 this year with my husband, and was able to chose Hayahay Resort, since this is the only hotel has the least cheapest price shown when checking online, When we arrive to the hotel the staff off is not hospitable at all, they did not even bother to greet or even bother to assist us, we immediately approached the receptions area.

The room is Good enough for us,the light is not good its very dim, but every time you go out they will clean your room. The wifi is can't connect, The Bed was very hard.

The location of the hotel is very good because its near to the bars, and other restaurants.Wherein you can chose where you can eat.

Even before I travel to this resort. the inquiry staff already made a very bad impression. I sent in an inquiry asking if there were differential pricing for locals and foreigners (as often, in philippines, there are) and if my work status entitles me to VAT rebate (which again, is common if you work for some sectors in PH). I got a very condescending and rude reply. Totally demonstrated their unwillingness to have my business.
I now wonder if i should even bother booking this hotel. I think the management should look into basic courtesy for their enquiry staff.

We were surprised on how big the rooms were in Hayahay. From what i saw from their room pictures, i thought i would be a tight space for us so we just assigned 2 people per room. It was large enough to hold 2 more extra mattresses per room and would still have space to walk around it and even unpack your things. Their bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Newly constructed i think with hot and cold showers that were not sea water. Cons were that their safety deposit boxes are battery operated, so when there's not enough power left in them, you hafta call on a room attendant to help you get your things from it. 2nd, maybe because it's new, their mattresses are way hard. The extra mattress you could get for your room is more comfortable. Overall, i would stay in hayahay again because its cheap enough but very clean at the same time.

I was one of the many, many tourists displaced after Boracay was suddenly closed down. Scrambling for a back-up, my partner and I were desperate to find a replacement destination. Our only requirements were that it was a beachfront hotel and that the rooms were decent. Hayahay's prices seemed too good to be true. We didn't know what to expect. But upon entering our room we were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, with a huge bed and clean sheets. The bathroom had hot and cold water, as promised. The WiFi was great. We were able to stream stuff without problems. Having a safe meant never worrying about our stuff being taken. Our room was cleaned everyday and we were given bottled water daily (a huge necessity seeing as none of the water in Panglao is potable).

If you are in Panglao mainly to enjoy the beach (just as we were), then this resort is perfect for you. It felt amazing to be situated so close to the coast that all you had to do was step out of your room and walk down the stairs. Hayahay's space is small compared to other resorts but that does not matter as the beach itself has room for everyone. While Alona beach itself has a large tourist population, the water never felt overly-crowded and we were able to relax in the crystal blue sea for hours.

Breakfast is not provided but there are a lot of plenty affordable options in their vast menu. Their pizza is decent and their fruit shakes are delicious, but nothing beats eating grilled seafood right at the beachfront. The shrimp with garlic and butter is to die for. Room service went without a hitch.

We spent five days at this quaint resort and it was worth every cent. We didn't encounter any problems at all, and they even helped arrange for a car to take us to the airport. Definitely a fantastic way to enjoy Panglao without breaking the bank.

The bed is super HARD. The aircon is not working upon arrival. I asked to be transferred to a different room but they said they are fully booked. I stayed in room 11 by the way. They tried to fix the aircon and it only got better a few hours before we checked out. I was literalky sweating while sleeping, thats how bas it was. And the worst is that, the bed has 2 throwpillows which smelled like dried saliva! Obviously they dont change it everytime a guest check out which they should right? I asked to change it which they did but still. Seriously???

Not as good a resort as I was expecting given the advertisements. Following the advice of others on Trip Advisor I requested and stayed in room #1 but the room is extremely small and the bed was so hard that I had bruised hips after my 4 night stay. The beach out front was filthy and really a shame as it would take a grand total of 5 minutes every morning to clean up the garbage and dog droppings. The hotel is also a fair walk from the point where the taxi would drop you off and not such a pleasant walk in the rain.

Resort is misleading. It is a no frills about 11 or 12 room "hotel". Rooms are adequate in size, so is the bathroom. Be sure to bring your toiletries. The hotel provides bath soap and hand wash. No other bathroom amenities. Towels are old. Covers of the twin beds don't match. But, there is a safe and a ref in the room, in addition to the TV and a dresser. Aircon in the room I stayed looked new however when it runs for some time it makes a clanking sound that will disturb your sleep. It appears as an installation defect and the hotel management is addressing the problem. The hotel's restaurant has an extensive menu. They serve pizza, pasta and Thai food. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I selected this hotel because it had my requirements - beach front, aircon, wi-fi in the rooms.

I was partial to more grandiose hotels and didn't know what to expect when I booked. Simply based on reviews here, I made the decision to book at this resort. It turned out fine. The room was, indeed, spotless and spacious. Obviously tailored for Caucasians with bigger build, it's still felt OK - elevated toilet bowls, mirrors mounted high, etc. I never got the chance to enjoy the beach front since it was either full with other guests or we were just out exploring Bohol. Neither did we get to sample food since Alona Hidden Dream which was by the road leading to the beach had an offering and price incomparable. If there's just one thing I wish Hayahay had was a resto that serves food early in the morning like 6am or earlier. There seems to be very few places here open that early and that could be a good business opportunity.

This place could soooo easily be fantastic......
1. Location is fantastic...on the seafront.....be aware though that taxi cannot get to the hotel itself. Will require short walk along sandy beach front.

However, and I have to agree with other reviewers.....
1. The bed was simply the hardest thing I've ever slept on !!!
2. Wifi not great
3. Loud music from next door until midnight (didn't worry me too much)

If you are planning to stay out past 10:30pm....take your key with you. Reception isn't 24 hours and I ended up getting locked out and spending more than 30 minutes trying to find someone who could get my key....I was back before midnight !!!!!

The room is over priced, not worth more than 30 US$. all night party under the hotel which does not let you sleep until morning.
Bed mattress is very thin and poor quality, wakeup with back pain.
Very poor value for money.
