Booked this hotel due to the location close to airport as we were arriving late and wanted to continue early next morning to El Nido. We asked the hotel to prebook transport to El Nido because of late arrival but they responded it could be arranged at check-in, but then at check-in they said it was too late... I would say it's a 2,5-star hotel maximum and poor service from reception staff is the reason for low grading. Only two pillows for 4 persons. The breakfast buffet was emptied and we saw no effort to refill it.
Noisy rooms and very poor condition. Further, they arranged the worst bus to take us to el Nido eventhough we asked for a nice ride and offered to pay extra. I don’t know if this is just the standard in the Philippines but I would not go back to this hotel
The hotel smelled like burning most of the time... the breakfast food wasn’t great. Laundry service was good and completed quickly. The hotel itself appeared to be deteriorating. Room was big enough and they gave us free toothpaste and toothbrushes which was very nice.
Stayed here about once a month for the past 3 years, the last stay about 3 months ago. This is a young hotel barely 5 years old that is quickly deteriorating. I tolerated it because of location and the 40% discount they gave me. Breakfast is poor, lunch food served for breakfast. On the last stay, I overstayed check-out time by one hour, the first time that happened in 3 years. They charged me for it and refused to waive it for a frequent guest. I guess they are strickler for rules but certainly poor in public relations. They lost me as I transferred to other hotels in the city. And there are many nicer ones.
Fersal is located close to Puerto Princesa airport so it is convenient if you are due for an early morning flight. Staff at reception were warm and friendly. The hotel is clean and tidy. The decor needs a definite upgrade as it feels very old and dark - think chunky dark wooden doors and door frames, minimal natural light and lots of gold. There seemed to be a high school group staying at the hotel who were pretty loud until about midnight and early in the morning. It didn't bother me too much but I can imagine others might feel annoyed. Before checkout I called asking for a shuttle to the airport. Upon checking out an hour later, the women at reception didn't have any record of me calling and requesting a shuttle so there's an issue with communication. Otherwise it's an okay hotel for the price. Better ones out in Puerto Princesa for similar prices.…
If you are travelling more than three, this is a very good option of hotel, close to airport, close to one of the best sea food restaurants around, Honda Bay and also comes with free breakfast. Staffs are very cool and have very good sense of humour. No regrets. They organise fantastic tours too.
Returned to PP after 20 years, and could not find our way around at all.the airport hotel where we stayed all those ago has gone and if i'm not mistaken the Fersal hotel is on more or less the same spot.We had not stayed at a Fersal branded property before, but have visited both the sister Elizabeth hotels in Baguio and Cebu on many occasions and always had excellent stays,so we gave it a try.It was a very good choice, equally as good as Elizabeth, but with a few less frills and excellent value for money.Very clean and spacious room and bathroom, comfy bed and quiet and efficient aircon.Very good breakfast but could do with a bit more variety. If in PP again we will surely stay here again.
The personnel, just great ! The cleanness, good ! The comfort, great ! The service, great ! Only small snag, a loud and repetitive noise coming from upstairs, maybe the lift motor resounding trough the walls; that is the reason why not 5 stars.
My wife and I stay here out of convenience. The park and fly is across the street and lined up on the man drag of Puerto Princesa. Not only convenient, but also has a nice breakfast buffet. They do also have transportation to and from the airport.
Would like to note: 1) Proximity to the airport (although, please NOTE, you will still have to go to airport by car, since the hotel is located opposite the OLD airport terminal, which is out of service) 2) The hotel really looks and is designed as a hotel, not as something converted into a hotel. 3) Good breakfasts, varied and safe. 4) Large rooms, clean in the room. 5) A good pressure of fairly warm water (which is already good for the Philippines) Of the minuses: 1) Very loud air conditioner, can prevent sleep. 2) There is no safe (locker).
