My partner and I spent 2 nights end of December in this hotel.
We came from Puerto Princesa where we took a van from San Jose - New Market to San Rafael. The trip should cost 60-80 pesos but as we just arrived we had no idea and we paid the requested price... 270 pesos per person! 40 pesos were given to the tricycle driver who drove us to the bus terminal. The van didn't leave before an hour but we were aware that it never departs on time, only when it's full. You can easily find the Nitivos hotel by keeping an eye on the mileposts along the road. It's just after the 59th milepost.
The staff welcomed us warmly with smiles and a fresh coconut drink. The bedroom was clean and large, the bathroom had hot water.
We went straight for a swim in the ocean. There is no seaweed, no rocks, it's very pleasant. Water temperature was about 32C and there were some nice waves.
The dishes cooked on the site tasted good and were good-value for the price. We ordered 4 dishes to satisfy our hunger.
No wifi but Emilia has got a laptop that she let you borrow. She was very helpful to organise a island hoping trip, call our next hotel to arrange pick-up and many other things we needed.
I would suggest to do the island hoping from Puerta Princesa as we had to drive back towards the main city to board the boat (KM 15 I think it was) which took us 45 min. The trip is worth it, snorkelling is not amazing but the beaches are amazing. We paid 1500 pesos per person, there were 4 of us plus a person from the hotel and we had a private boat. Lunch was included but not the snorkelling gears.
In the evening we got a massage on a table close to the beach. The sunset was nice and we could see the bats flying in the sky. 500 pesos for one hour.
In conclusion I would recommend this resort as it is very relaxing. There are only 6 cottages so far and the staff is very friendly.

Its beachfront! The resort is very clean. Owner is very nice and friendly. Location is accessible to all kinds of transportation. The road is not directly to Sabang (Puerto Princesa underground river).

We all had a terrible experience at Nitivos.

Firstly, we were not well informed about its exact location and the manager was not very responsive when we were trying to contact her. The hotel is in fact on the east coast of Palawan an hour drive from Sabang and 90 minutes from PP.

The place and rooms are decent, although bathroom were not well maintained, not clean and hot water was not working in one of the rooms.

We had a terrible experience at dinner. The menu is really limited, plus only a few items were available on that day. Then, it was extremely badly cooked, squids were way over-cooked, rice was served cold...
And when we told our disappointment about the food, the manager simply told us that we should go eat somewhere else if we don't like it!!

Quite an unbelievable experience!

We stayed for one night. It was a nice and relaxing stay, not much to see. The place is on the beach, the beach is not a beautiful beach but was nice walking along the beach, it is clean with no rubbish on shore line. The room was ok but a very small shower room combine with toilet. We stayed there as we wanted to hire scooter so we did from Puerto Princesa rode one hour out to Nitivos had great fun on the 125cc scooter I double my wife and my mate did the same. We enjoyed our time there it was nice sitting by the beach front on their out door settings having dinner . No complimentary breakfast.
A very good restaurant in Puerto Princesa to dine at is Lale restaurant

it's very nice place, but a liitle bit remote. there's no restaurants, shops or some entertainments nearby. they have thear own restaurante, but the choise is quite limited. the beach is nice, but it's not good for sweeming, cause it's shallow. the place itself is very quiet and romantic, good for family vacation

With 7 rooms at the inn, and its very own, pristine beach, I couldn't ask for more. My friend and I chose this place to get away from the city, so if you are looking for something to do at night, this isn't it. Although there is a restaurant/bar with good food, and if it isn't on the menu, just ask them.

Nitivos is located 1 hour away from Puerto Princesa, 1 hour from Sabang and the Underground River, about 3 hours from El Nido. It is owner-managed which is another plus. And the staff have all been professionally trained. The rooms are clean, with hot water, air-condition if you need it - but who wants to close the window and not hear the sound of the waves lapping against the shore?
