the road to the hotel is bumpy and painful, the hotel needs some adjustments to have a modern look. the staff is friendly! you have direct access to the beach but honestly don´t expect much from the beach because you might be disappointed. Overall is ok, but i think that the hotel management should improve the facilities and have a modern look :)

We stayed at Microtel Palawan last December 26-29 with my family. The place was really great. Although the road going to the hotel is not that pleasing, you will be surprised how lovely the place is once you arrive at the hotel. The view from our room is just amazing! Do not miss the beautiful sunrise. It is worth waking up early in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked all our tours through the hotel. Jocelyn the reservations agent was really helpful in arranging the tours for us. I had to book an extra tour and the front desk agent was so kind to arrange it for us. The free shuttle was a great plus and having a restaurant on site was super helpful (just a bit pricey). Me and my mom played the ”sungka”, it brought me back to my childhood memories.…

Once in a while, I walk out to the beach during low tide, take in all the natural beauty around me and observe people as they go walking around the beach, breathing the fresh air and appreciating the various flora and fauna abundant in these parts. Sometimes, I would see people pick up something from the sand -- a starfish, perhaps a hermit crab -- observe it a bit and later put it back. Not a lot of people, though, would take the time to bring them further out into the water to save them. Thank you very much for caring for these creatures and the environment. We are honored to have people like you and your mother as our guests here in Microtel by Wyndham Puerto Princesa and we look forward to welcoming you again on your next visit.

the Hotel itself is great.. Great service and clean rooms. what I like most is the buffet breakfast, the food taste great. another thing is the airport transfer and transfers to/from robinsons very hassle free. however, i booked the hotel because of the beach, i thought we can swim at the beach without go on island hopping, unfortunately you cannot swim in the beach. no wonder why it's very quiet.. good thing is that the kids enjoy the pool even though its not that clean and well maintained.

The hotel is small but very clean. Staff are very friendly. Our room are just enough for a family of 4. Not luxury room but good enough and comfortable and clean. We had a good time in this hotel. I would highly recommend it.

We enjoyed lounging at the kid-friendly pool (though it needs to be updated, tbh). The beach was clean and inviting, plus you can explore the mangrove area around the property. Because we liked the beach, we didn't bother to go out and take the city tour anymore. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food is ok. The free shuttle service was a big help. It's a good hotel for families with little kids.

everyone was courteous..the area was kid friendly! we were able to enjoy as a couple since the kids were free to roam around the area by themselves. the food served during our family dfinner were to our taste..

Honest review of Microtel by Wyndham. As a time share owner, I have been to a lot of Wyndham properties but stayed here by booking privately. Found out that this Microtel is a franchise. The road getting to the hotel is terrible. There are roads that are not paved with a lot of potholes. As soon as we arrived, they cannot find our reservations. Took us a while to check in. The rooms are smelly with mold and mildew. The towels are old and stained. Some have torn pieces in the sides. There’s no elevator which is fine. The mattress is very firm as if sleeping on a hard surface. The pillows are very hard as well like rocks!! Believe me I’m not exaggerating. I asked to replace them but the pillows they replaced them with are just as the same. Amenities are poor although…

Thank you for your feedback. We value all genuine guest comments as this helps us in our drive for continuous improvement. However, it was with grave concern that I read your review as what you were describing was difficult to countenance; for example, the firm mattress which you described was like "sleeping on a hard surface", and the pillows that you said were rock hard "without exaggeration". Try as I might to investigate which room you were referring to as having said items, I could not find the things which even remotely matched your description. I would like to give you the benefit of the doubt, though, and apologize sincerely if you had the experience as you described. I must admit that the road leading to the hotel could use some improvement and we are working closely with the local government to have this improved. As for your other concerns, we shall work doubly hard to address them. I am just glad that despite these perceived shortcomings, you still could cut us "some slacks" and liked our beachfront location and found our staff to be great, very attentive and quick to respond to guests' needs. Rest assured that changes are being made and we hope we can make you change your mind about a return visit.

I would stay here again but the hotel was far outside the normal distance from any other sites. Also the road to the hotel was very poor. While the food was OK it was not worth the price. My order during my first meal was incorrect.

We are currently addressing these, like having the local government resurface the road which they say would be done soon. This should make the distance not seem that great in relation to other points of interest. I am glad, though, that despite these setbacks, you would stay with us again. Amazing hotel for an affordable price. The staff is always there to help you, the beach is just around the corner and everything looks super neat. The restaurant serves delicious and authentic Filipino food.

This is our first time in Puerto Princesa, the staff are nice and accommodating. We stayed in Microtel for 4 nights, their free transportation from Airport to Hotel and vice versa is helpful since we arrived at Puerto Princesa at night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel.
