I would just like to warn you to be very careful about which company you choose to buy a live aboard. You have to read the experiences of those who have been there to know whether a company is reliable or not. When everything goes well and there are no hiccups it is all easy, but competence, experience and honesty come out more easily when problems arise. My wife Lydia and I had chosen Discovery Palawan to dive Tubbataha reef. We had already visited the depths of the best places in the world, and after finishing our ideal list of top dive sites, we became interested in lesser known places. So we decided to go to the Philippines and, considering that we reside in Brazil (two-day trip), we built a month-long trip around the week we would spend off the island of Palawan, touching various other tourist spots in the Philippines and Palau. Less than a week before embarkation we were sent a terse message apologizing that the expedition had been cancelled. That was Easter week and you can imagine how we felt, with no reservations for another hotel or live aboard! With a carelessness bordering on insolence and rudeness, they advised us to look for other liveaboard, considering that everyone knows that it is necessary to book them a year in advance at least. They completely abandoned us without a B plan and this in the celebration of our wedding anniversary. The incompetence they showed in this situation is simply unbelievable and absurd for a company that signs messages with assistants, directors and even presidents! The excuse was that the boat was not ready and was still in the shipyard. This means that the president or director responsible for this project (of fixing the boat) are incompetent and should be fired for this. Am I wrong perhaps? Isn't this how it works in serious businesses companies? My wife and I can guarantee that these people are unqualified and, consequently dangerous to your travel plans. They do not know how to accompany a project and demand that the work has to be done following a chronogram, they do not offer an alternative plan, and they reimburse absolutely nothing about the expenses incurred. They Just gave the money back of the liveaboard and, because of change currency, it was 100 dollars less. They also offered a 50% on an other liveaboard, but we don't have no more time to go for the second time to Philippines. Time is short, our life is short and we have to go on, following our bucket list. In this regard, we only requested reimbursement for dive insurance, 2 lost flights tickets and 2 ferry tickets for a total of about $624. Of course, we did not consider the 1-month trip that, as mentioned above, we undertook exclusively because of this liveaboard. You must have more respect for your clients!…
