One of El Nido's first accommodations, MaryGold (formerly Marina Garden) is located right on the beach near everything you could need for your visit. Rooms are simple and clean. Ideal for the families, friends, and middle-of-the-road traveler.
Pros: nicely decorated rooms Smooth booking (room, tours, van transfers) Beach front property Good town location in center of town (also in front of police station) Top rated restaurants are within walking distance. Have rentable kayaks, snorkling gear etc. Cons: Breakfasts are very basic; they take orders for breakfast at around 5-7pm the day before and surprisingly, it would still take almost 30 mins before they can serve you the food upon arriving. I specifically asked if they have cold Milo and they gave me a glass with ice and told me I still need to buy a bottled water in their cafe XD Bathroom has sewage smell the whole stay, even killed a cockroach inside. Big rats running around under the cottages. No room cleaning service (unless asked?) I'm not sure. Did not…

This was our last hotel in the Philippines and we don't regret it. we stayed in the Jessica Cottage which was very nice and comfortable facing the sea. it is centrally located to all amnesties in the area. Restaurants, shops and day tour boats are nearby. on the downside, some of the staff is not that helpful but it can be because of the language barrier. Once the water from the shower just stopped suddenly in the middle of the shower and although i told them immediately what was happening no one seemed to care, they didn't act immediately but this is the Philippines after all. All in all it was a very positive stay.

We stayed here as group of 4 couples for a week and had a fantastic time! This is one of the only hotels in El Nido that is both on the beach front but also with a private shaded area to relax and spend the day. The shady courtyard under the coconut trees, filled with hammocks and beach recliners makes it easy to pass the day watching the boats come in and out with a good book. The beach bar has really good fruit smoothies and super cheap drinks which we enjoyed into the night. It also serves a decent local or western breakfast each morning which is included. Between us we had 4 rooms, all which were well equipped, clean and had good strong AC and fans. The mary gold is also one of the only hotels that has a backup generator which runs during the frequent power outages - which…

Took my college-aged son to El Nido, Palawan and stayed at the Mary Gold Beachfront Inn. We loved the paradise island and had great experience during our 4-day-3-night vacation on the island. Island hopping was out of this world. It is a must if one visits El Nido. Scuba diving was definitely a bucket list item. Our short visit to El Nido was complemented by our wonderful accommodation at the Mary Gold Beachfront Inn. Great staff and management. Cozy, comfy, and reasonably-priced family-owned resort. When you go to El Nido and stay at the resort, look for Jinno. Tell him that I personally recommended him and the resort. :-) He will let you know about the "secrets" of El Nido. I am headed back there this coming August with my wife, my other son and his friend.

This was by far the nicest place I stayed at in El Nido. The location is great. Security 24 hours a day. There is a cute little sausage place adjoined that has great shakes. We had our breakfast there in the morning that was included in our stay. Room were fair and excellent compared to other little hotels nearby. The bathrooms could use a little updating. It was not an enjoyable shower and anytime I had to use the restroom. Still a very great stay at the MaryGold, I’ll recommend it to others.

The place is now called Marina Garden. We came again to spend a week here and found it better than it was with the availability of the new cottages. We had the room 1, directly on the beach and we liked the beautifully decorated rooms (1 person bed and 1 queen). The rooms are much bigger than the former ones. This is the best situation on El Nido beach were it is the broadest and benefits from the shade of numerour trees. Some tips: request daily the tidying up of the room otherwise it will not happen. Do not book island tours with them as you will be on the last departing tour; in our experience booking is better done at Rovic's pension a bit farther on the beach.

Great location on the beach with some great food options and live music close. Not on the sunset beach which is known more for its late night parties! Cute rooms! Very helpful and friendly staff! Decent breakfast! Recommendations - a wash basin or hose at the entry to the room to wash sand, etc off. Free bottles of water in the room. Had a great stay, April 2018 with my wife and 2 kids (3+6). Would def recommend this spot and hope to come back to El Nido soon! AWESOME!

I stayed in this hotel several years ago when their name was still different. I love the feel of the place - it's a small resort where everyone is friendly and you feel at home straight away. They have new cottages which are bigger than the old ones, nonetheless, the even the old rooms (where we stayed because they are cheaper) are very clean and decent. I love eating breakfast every morning because breakfast is served by the beachfront where you can watch other tourists waiting for their island-hopping tours. I recommend booking tours through the resort because they know the reliable tour operators and their price is very reasonable. It was a very relaxing vacation for my husband and myself because you can just stay on their hammocks or lounge chairs and the light breeze…

My wife and I plus six other family members stayed at MaryGold in Feb of 2018. This is a great location right on the beach to board El Nido tours plus it is close to some very tasty restaurants. Staff was very accommodating and the price for tours that are booked through the resort are reasonable. We had breakfast included with our meal and albeit not fantastic it was good. We stayed at the cottages in front of the beach. Good value for your money.

located in the centre of the tourist area with its own direct beach access. hotel is very safe with security 24x7, staff are all vey friendly and helpful. its a very bright cheerful clean hotel and the rooms are also very bright. you can choose you room in advance so as to get the best view of the beach, we had room 6 with a perfect view. the rooms are a little cramped and the bathroom is a bit dated but other than that they're quite nice. aircon is good and bed was quite comfy. they come see you every afternoon or evening to ask what time and what you would like for breakfast, i find this a bit of a pain as i never know when i want to get up!!! cleaning of the room is done only by prior arrngement.
