Nice, comfy bed.

Unfortunately there were frequent power cuts and the generator was right outside the room. The Inn is also beside a construction company and can be noisy in the mornings. I think this place is a little expensive for what you get.

Chariz Inn is in a great location just a couple of blocks back from the El Nido beachfront. The room was generally clean with a hot shower, flushable toilet and AC. We experienced a couple of power cuts during the night, but I think this was more about the area rather than the hotel. Coming from Boracay where the staff at our hotel were super enthusiastic and helpful, the staff at Chariz were lacking. They were friendly, but quiet to the point of uncomfortable. Perhaps they couldn't understand our accents very well, but they seemed to have limited interest in us and our needs. All in all it was a great stay for 5 nights, we just wished the place had a bit more atmostphere. Would stay again and recommend to anyone wanting cheap accommodation in the heart of El Nido

Worth the money. Staffs were helpful and the location is very good, near to restaurants and departing point for island hopping. There was no breakfast provided but the staff willingly provided us hot water every morning for us to make coffee and instant noodles, very much appreciate the kind heart. Especially when we go for a lot of island hopping and run out of clean towels, the staffs provide us towels without additional charges.

This is one of my favorite hotel/guesthouse in El Nido. Well located (not too far from center, not too close to the road and its noises), with a friendly staff and well equipped rooms. In that range of price, this may be the best place in El Nido. Plus, the wi-fi does work very good (especially on the terrasse). I recommend it!

We were a walk in when there was low vacancy. The staff was very welcoming and were able to accomodate us. They helped us book a day trip and when one of us fell ill, they helped us not only deal with the cancellation, but also get the right medicine. They showed genuine concern and we were very grateful for it. When we had to check out, they helped us book another hotel made sure we were well taken care of.

Good:
1. Located centrally in town, but not on a busy street. Easy to get a tricycle and easy to navigate thru walking.
2. They have an outdoor hanging area for wet clothes from your island-hopping.
3. We had a proper safe in our room for our valuables.

However:
1. There was a lot of spiders and cockroaches during our stay. (Maybe it was the heavy rain hence insects opted to stay indoors as well). 😬
2. There were power interruptions during our 2-night stay.
3. I wish they had shower heaters in the rooms, especially during the rainy season where it gets a little colder

My family and I stayed at this place for three days and two nights. It a walking distance from the beach and other places such as the food court, stores, and restaurants.

My family and I occupied two rooms of the place. They had 6 hotel Rome in total I believe. Had Wi-Fi which worked good at times and worked alright at times.

The AC in both of our rooms were old. When the power went out they would not turn on since they are connected to the generator which was connected to the lights. We ate breakfast in the morning before going onto our tour, small simple breakfast eggs, Filipino hotdogs, corn beef, rice. Water and coffee is free but had to pay at one point for it.

The bed consisted of two single beds pushed together. And there was another single bed on the floor next to it. Four of us slept on the bed but woke up in the middle of the night since the two single beds seperared and we weren’t laying down on the mattresses anymore. One of my family members had to get up and push in the beds together a few times in the night. Water tasted and smelled a little funny but I think the water there is just like that.

They kicked out my family in the other room and told them to stay with us in our room. We asked for the reason and they said “oh this is not allowed” or some weird excuse they came up with and they made us move our stuff into one room and shared one bathroom! Check out time is 3 pm and we got back before that and we still don’t understand why we got kicked out.

Staff is okay. Some were very nice.

Overall they need to improve the place such as the beds and the AC. Staff shouldn’t be kicking us out of the room and transferring us into one room since we occupied two of the rooms. Got very upset due to the that. They also should would on communicating since we got a tour package and the van that we got into was not the one we were suppose to be one, making us a pay a fee we thought we already paid. When we got our right van we had to transfer our stuff into the other van, it was late at night already and we’re super tired and exhausted. It was very disorganized going back to puerto princessa.

The hotel should know if we have a tour package or not and should stay connected with other places since most people staying at that place are there for a tour package or on some type of schedule or itinerary.

Dear Sir / Ma'am Thank you for staying with us during your El Nido Vacation. We had 10 rooms in total. El Nido is 5 hrs. drive from the city and experience power shortage most of the time. We had genset for the used of lights, water, wifi, and fan. It is also indicated that the check - out time is 12noon. It is the standard time and policy of our accommodation. I believe it is indicated in our registration form which you signed upon check in. It is also posted in our frontdesk, also in the House rules of all rooms. As you have said that we kicked out one of the room? We believe that we just informed that you should check out the room before tour and retain 1 of the room for your luggage storage and for your group assured to have a bathroom to used after tour. Usually at 12 noon, all rooms check out must be check out and cannot used any rooms anymore. There will be also corresponding charge for not checking out the room on time. But we want your luggage secured, and the assurance that you have a bathroom to used, we allowed 1 room to retain for free. We believe that it is also indicated in the voucher which your travel agency give to you. It is also the work of your travel agency to communicate and to check your group every time. They are your contact person and knows about your itenerary. For the van, I believe it is also indicated in the given itenerary, the time schedule of your picked up since you booked a package from your travel agency. Once again thank you very much! Our room had a broken doorknob, it took us at least 3-5 minutes to remove the key from the doorknob.
In case of brownout, they have a generator for lights which is good, but not for the aircon which made the room stifling during brownout because there was no other source of air/cool air in the room, no electric fan. We hope they had electric fans.
Also, when one of us needed to use the comfort room at dawn, we discovered there was no water. Good thing we had a bunch of bottled water. We don't know if they turn off the water source every dawn and turn it on again in the morning or if this was an isolated case.
They don't provide much in terms of toiletries. Took a long time for the hot shower to get hot. Shower has no visible heater but the left knob does produce hot water.
Also, their queen bed was composed of 2 single beds aligned together which was uncomfortable. It awoke us at dawn because part of our back was not in the mattress anymore as one of the single beds got separated from the other. We had to move the bed side by side on and off as it kept getting separated while we slept.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Although we had to remind them of our floor mat and soap. When I asked if I can borrow a broom to sweep our room, they said they'll sweep it for us. Location is OK, walking distance to the beach which can be fun if you like walking around exploring. Room was clean. Room size is OK for 2 people, any more and it'll be crowded. Their hallway is always clean. Unlimited coffee and emergency lights during brown out are a plus. :) Breakfast is OK too.

Regarding the water, yes it has a funny taste. But we're not sure if it's because of the water source of the whole town or only theirs since we did not check-in in any other hostel/inn. We would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's because the water source of the town is in the mountains.

We checked into this hotel at 2pm and left swiftly at 3pm. The room was clean and the staff were nice but it was very basic. The reason we left was because the shower water smelt like sewage. The staff were apologetic and I don’t think it’s solely their issue, I think it may be an issue with some hotels in the town.
