We never really planned on staying a lot inside hotels in El Nido as we expect we will always be out Island Hopping. But we are glad we chose Mahogany as our hotel/resort. The resort is green and peaceful, perfect for people who likes nature and for those looking to calm themselves after a busy day of touring. The rooms are spacious and in very good condition. Everything is working fine. The pool looks amazing especially at night. We felt relaxed at the end of our days and in El Nido, you need that. Service is the best part. The owner is very friendly and all the staff and crew are very courteous, highly responsive, and very professional. We were reallly taken cared of. Some improvement points can be made- kitchen is not open all the time (understandable due to pandemic staffing limitations); more variety on menu would be better; also the door locks take a little getting used to. But these things won't take away the wonderful experience we had. I highly recommend the resort to anyone going to El Nido.…
Good choice for your stay at El Nido, pity that the beach is not up to standards, clean place, welcoming staff, but nothing outstanding. Seems that El Nido is still suffering from pandemic devastation and only up to a 40% recovery, but the people makes up for the nice atmosphere
All I can say is wow! This was the best place I have ever stayed. Bungalows are right on or very near the beach, service is immaculate, staff is friendly and helpful, lots of good restaurants nearby, close to a number of sari sari stores. WiFi is a bit weak and no TV in our room, but I was not there to watch TV!! :-). Walk south along the beach and there are a number of restaurants, store, ATM, Palawan Pawnshop. Check out the El Nido Public Market (north along the beach). We stayed in room 2 and it was perfect. Bring bug spray, but they have the coils to burn. I would definitely return! Try to get a flight to El Nido airport which is 20 minutes away vs Puerto Princessa which is 6 hours!
The room is a cottage with a great outside verandah. Good people, Ian in the bar was great. The only issue is no restaurant, but there is a great Italian about2 minutes away - also on the beach. Breakfast was served on the verandah exactly at the time it was requested. No problems with transport. Trikes waiting about 2 minutes walk.
The room was ample size, the bed super comfy with luxe linens, the bathroom had nice fixtures, plush towels and top of the line toiletries. Staff was excellent. The place is so beautiful especially in the afternoon. We'll definitely stay here again and again.
We loved our stay in Mahogany! The place itself was a beauty. You will be surrounded with greeneries which we liked. A little paradise on its own. It provided us privacy and peace as it was tucked in the heart of Corong-corong away from the noise you get if you stay in the town area. The staff is highly commendable. Angelyn attended to our needs attentively and with much care. Angelyn arranged our motor rental so we can tour the town with ease at out own pace. Plus, you can also order in their bar for drinks! Blue kamikazees all the way. 😂 Thank you, Mahogany!
Amazing private area along Corong-Corong beach, this resort will not disappoint. Service is excellent, but check with the resort as their food and beverage selection is still limited due to the effect of the coronavirus pandemic. You also get the most wonderful sunset view by the beach every evening.
We had an enjoyable five night stay at this adult boutique property. The property is excellent value, location is good to shops and restaurants. The onsite restaurant serves up decent fare and cocktails. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed – The sunsets from the beach & outdoor bar / lounge area are some of the finest on the globe. The vegetation and layout has that boutique feel and although privacy is at a premium, the resort is hosting only a small number of adult guests, meaning privacy is not a huge concern, just remember to always close the room curtains! The staff are salt of the earth and attribute to making a stay here memorable and highly enjoyable. Joseph the manager checked us in early and was totally helpful in tips (cost of tuk tuk’s) arranging massages and daily housekeeping concerns etc. The bar staff are the best, jovial, sincere and proficient in providing just the right amount of service along with delicious and exotic cocktails. The rooms are quiet, clean & comfortable with A/C – the showers are brackish and the smell can be off putting to some. The spacious porch is a great spot to relax, enjoy dinner or breakfast, the latter must be pre-ordered the night prior. We found choosing to eat breakfast down by the beach a relaxing experience with a great view. We alternated between our front porch & the beach bar for daily breakfasts & dining. The beach touts cannot come on the property, however they will stand on the beach attempting to get your attention any time of the day – Ignoring them or telling them tomorrow is ineffective, eventually they get hint and move on only to replaced by the next tout a few seconds later….. We found the most effective way was pretending they do not exist…… The beach view is incredibly scenic and one can walk for miles, however swimming is only possible right at high tide and even then a challenge. A Short (Hard negotiated) 150 Peso tuk tuk ride will take you to Nacpan beach which is a mix of backpacker accommodations, hotels, shops, beach bars and decent swimming. A small purchase of a bottle of water off the beach bar will get you the use of a beach chair which may or may not be in working / safe or comfortable condition. Resort massages need to be booked in advance as outside therapists are coordinated for the use of the massage hut located just off the pool area. Massages are in a non-air-conditioned but naturally cooled comfortable quiet hut. The massages although a tad bit expensive for the Philippine’s were top notch and professional – we treated ourselves twice in five days! A stay here is highly recommended – we were sorry to leave and we thank all the fine staffs for making our stay satisfying & memorable. Thanks Everyone!…
This resort was a tiny slice of paradise in El Nido! The accommodations were clean and quiet, and the beach was gorgeous. My favorite parts were the unparalleled service from Joseph who answered dozens of questions (even before we arrived!) and the delicious restaurant on the property, where we had dinner every night while enjoying the gorgeous sunset. The food was delicious! We had our 2 teenagers as well as grandparents with us, and Mahogany took great care of all of us! I also appreciated the swift and easy airport pickup and return. We worked with Joseph to set up scuba dive and island hopping tours, which were so beautiful. Thank you for a great vacation!! I give this resort my highest recommendation!
We had wanted to stay away from El Nido town centre, and this was just the perfect location. The garden villa was comfortable, the food delicious, and the staff very pleasant. The pool is nice too, and a necessity as Corong Corong is not quite suitable for swimming in the sea. And it's just a very enjoyable walk to Las Cabañas Beach too. We won't easily forget the afternoons and evenings spent at the seafront with our meals and drinks, watching the most awesome Palawan sunsets. The only thing we didn't enjoy were the many beach hawkers who would not give up trying to get our attention as we were eating and drinking, from sunrise to sunset. This is not the hotel's fault of course, but can get quite annoying at times. It wouldn't stop us from staying here again though would we go back to El Nido.…
