Halfway up Nacpan beach, it seems to be the last place for miles. Lovely staff running the reception and restaurant. Huge space in between the huts in compound right on the beach. AND SOOOO QUIET, no karaoke, no building-noise, no base-noise from clubs...just perfect. Salamat po

Don't Stay at Jack's Place, Nacpan Beach. My wife and myself booked in there for 17 days stay for our honeymoon and Eden the caretaker assured us it was 100% peaceful and quiet at all times. The next morning without any notification the staff got out the petrol grass cutter and spent the next 5 hours cutting the grass around the bungalows. The noise was so unbearable and loud that my wife and myself had to get out of our bungalow and sit on the beach further down. Eventually I went and companied to Eden and she then kicked myself and my wife out. We had no where to go and had to pack our luggage and leave. We eventually found other alternate accommodation however we did not appreciate how Eden and the other staff members treated us.

Electricity is at 6 to 930pm only, sometimes up to 10pm (same with the rest of the town), but they provide a solar powered lamp.
No air-conditioning, no electric fan (but they mentioned they'll provide a solar-powered fan in a few weeks). It got hot in the late evening or early morning. There was not enough breeze going into the room (even with the windows wide open). For the two nights I stayed there, I woke up sweating. Mosquitoes and other flying insects disturbed me even with the mosquito net tucked under the mattress, and copious amounts of insect repellent. The sleep was generally uncomfortable; but then you can easily take your afternoon naps at a hammock on the beach ;) We also realized too late that maybe it would have been better to sleep on the veranda - so at least you get some breeze.
We took the family cottage with 1 bed; then requested for an extra bed. It went with an extra mosquito net that was full of holes that we patched up with my friend's masking tape.
The cottage was not well-maintained - it had dead insects, dust, and I think termites. I understand that these are all "natural" dirt but would have been great if they cleaned up. The mattress also had bed bugs.
They can serve meals but this is on top of their accommodation rates. They don't have a fixed menu - you can pretty much order what you want as long as they can buy it in the market in time. 2 pcs of pancakes with honey, instant coffee is P100. An order of crabs good for 2 people is P150 (no rice). They serve these at your veranda. You can also cook your own food - P50 for fuel.
All cottages are separate from each other and have ample space in-between. Volleyball nets, hammocks and sunbathing chairs available on the beach. There is wi-fi but not the whole time as someone takes this with them to Manila (so I heard). Mobile phone signal is pretty bad, as in other areas in Nacpan. If necessary, send a message to people that you'll be out of a signal before going there.
The caretaker is very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. She may not be trained in how to take care of resort guests, but she takes care of you like any well-intentioned neighbor.
If I go back to Nacpan, I will stay here again definitely. But I really hope they can work on giving the guests more a more comfortable sleep (this is 90% of the reason I'm giving an average rating).

We did not expect much arriving at Jack's Place but apparently our low expectations were too high.
Staff seemed annoyed by the fact that they had guests.
There was no water in our tap.
Very low pressure and ice cold water in the shower.
Only power 3 hours a day.
Towels smelled like petrol.

Would not recommend.

This place is absolutely amazing! It is super peaceful with the most beautiful sunset every night. The beach is perfect, except for the sandflies:( jacks place had some of the best food we've had in the month we have travel in the Philipines. The personnel was really nice and helpful and the cabin we stayed in, was basic but with everything we needed including a beautiful view! I will recommend this place to everybody I know who is going to palawan! And it is super cheap!

We went on a daytrip to nacpan beach, fell in love and came back to stay at Jack's place for 6 nights. Stayed in two different bungalows, and were happy with both.

If you looking for peace/a quiet place, clean water and excellent food, this is the place to be.

It's close to nature (some sand flies, mosquitos and a gecko or two), nothing fancy like aircon or hot water, but super relaxing. Swing in the hamocks, drink a fresh fruit shake, or enjoy the tasty and cheap priced food. Take a walk on the beach and watch the beautiful sunset.

They do have internet and electricity between 6-9pm. Solar lamps to their customers for a few extra hours.

Tips, if Jack's are fulled booked, their is two other settings of accommodation on the beach. One by the entrance of the beach (calitang Pearl beach cottages) and one next to Jack's (catian resto bar). Both with good bungalows for same price.

I stayed at Jack's Place this past August for 3 nights. It's almost an hour away from El Nido, via a rather harrowing TriCycle ride, but well worth the experience.

After spending 5 nights in El Nido, my partner and I went to Nacpan beach for the day. We loved it so much that when we stumbled upon Jack's Place we cancelled or remaining reservation in El Nido and spent the rest of our trip there.

What are the accommodations like?

There are several cottages there, all with their own bathroom. Some are bigger than others. Our cottage was one of the smaller variety: it had a room with a bed, and a bathroom that would've been shared with an additional room if we'd needed it. Each cottage also has a sizeable covered porch. The cottages are not fully sealed, so if you go out of your bed/mosquito net at night, expect to be bitten. The mosquito net is large and works very well (as long as it's set up right! ask for help if you're unsure!). The bathrooms are pretty good, but the shower doesn't have hot water, depending on the time of day/electricity situation.

What's the location like?

This particular stretch of Nacpan beach is further down, so there were almost no other people in sight for the duration of our trip. Jack's Place is approx a ten minute walk from the village at Nacpan beach. Like most places in Palawan, there is are electricity shut-offs: when we were there, there was no electricity between 9pm and 2pm the next day.

Highlights?

Location. Seriously, this is one of the most beautiful place I've ever been. You wake up with the sunrise, hearing the ocean. You can walk from you cottage to into the ocean in about a minute. The water is warm and clean and fairly shallow, so you can walk several metres out into the ocean. Around the cottages, on the Jack's Place property, there are tons of animals and birds roaming around (chickens, dogs, etc). We also got to see cows on the beach, and an ox pulling a cart down the beach.

The owners will set you up with a flashlight. They're very, very accomodating, and you can order food and beer from them. The food is pretty good, though the menu offerings can be limited by what they have available that day.

Beware: you'll need bug spray and lots of it during the evening and at night.

We paid around $30 per night at Jack's Place in August, which I believe is off-season. $30 a night to stay in paradise? An unbeatable deal.

I loved this place, it is amazing, very quiet, nice beach. Very friendly staff.
Electricity is working only from 6pm to 10pm.
No mobile signal and internet connection. 1 hour by tricycle to el nodo city. Very nice beach, almost noone in there.
Hopefully you will have better weather. I stayed there 5nights and 4 days was raining.
Pizza very expencive.
When you go to the beach and to the right to the end, there is nice snorkeling.

PROS:
- great setting, just next to the beach, many hammocks to rest;
- fantastic gazebo (but you better secure a spot there first thing in the morning);
- away from Nacpan entrance, most of one-day tourists from El Nido do not go as far and therefore you have the beach just for you to enjoy;
- very friendly staff and house pets;
- cottages are well maintained and have some solar powered light even after the generators are off (they worek 6 to 9 pm usually);

CONS:
- variety of food might be better;
- LOTS of flies, mosquitos etc., that does not comcern the resort itself as they are omnipresent in Nacpan, but it is good to know.

I'm not sure if it was our third, 4th, or 5th time there last December. But one thing is for sure, we always want to go back. The people were very friendly and approachable, plus the beautiful long white sand beach of Nacpan is just few walk away. And you wouldn't want to miss the beautiful sunset here. :)

You cant book it on the internet as they do not have a website. You have to go there in person and aee if they have availability of accommodation. Don't go there as our honeynoon was destroyed at Jack's Place. The staff there are so noisy with petrol grass cutter all day long and if you complain about this they will kick you out. This happened to my wife and myself on our honeymoon there. Take our advice, go somewhere else.

I paid directly and booked through fb. Hope everything will be ok. I still have a contact and they proposed me transport from airport.
