I will start out with the positives - this resort has a lot of potential. The structure is beautiful and the spot for breakfasts and dinners facing the sunset is stunning. We thought that the staff did a great job and were very hospitable- namely John and Rubick. Breakfast selection was also great and the dinner food was tasty and reasonable! However, I would be hesitant to recommend staying here as the resort is very outdated. The bathrooms were filled with mould and I’m not sure when the last time they were given a good scrub. It was impossible to have a warm shower. TV and wifi barely worked and the pool’s colour looked quite questionable.

Yes! We had a memorable experience staying in El Nido Cove. To start with, the place was nice.. it was quiet and being a little too far from the 'bayan' is kinda nice for a change since me and my family lives in a crowded city. The down part is that because it is a bit too far, it would be costly for tourist to transfer from a place to another and also it would take time :) but most of the people in El Nido is polite and honest so you would not think they are charging you too much. hehehe The food however was to die for! my favorite was the kare kare and the pork sisig! yum!!!!! and lastly, but not the least, thank you John, Harvey,Robert and Richelle for the most accommodating experience. :D we definitely missed you guys! and thank you sa mga masahistas :) enjoy sila mag entertain. hoping to see you next vacay and we hope for your success! <3 lovelots , 4 ladies and 1 gentleman(our pamangkin) in room 05.

First, I’d like to say that John our F&B Specialist, our Chef (on 12/19-12/23) who did a great job with our made to order omelettes and dinners, Ritchelle and Harvey and all other servers on the breakfast team who made this a wonderful stay!! Even the guys who helped us with our kayaks on the hotel’s private beach were fantastic! Our rooms were clean, comfy and very restful (AC was working the whole time). It’s far away from the crowds of the town market places - quiet and we loved it!! Just be aware that you will have to pay for transportation to get to any of the town activities. Cheapest transport is the tricycle and more expensive is hiring a van driver if you have a family. Wonderful destination- thank you El Nido Cove and Staff!!

It’s really expensive for what it is! Building really old and not maintained, the bathroom was a mess. Location: really far from El Nido town (>15km) you’ll have to pay a moped or a tricycle every time you want to go out (you should be carful because there is no light during the night and the road is not that good) Breakfast was mediocre and the food doesn’t worth the money (other couples confirmed our point of view ) no water offered, you’ll have to refill yourself in the lobby. The employees are humble but not that helpful. The only positive point is the fabulous view but I guess you won’t just stay at the hotel...you’d rather be in town, on a boat or on an island :)

This nice place but there are things why this isn’t clearly a 5/5 - hotel. It is quite far from down town and also to us it was 300 or 350 pesos per each way, so 12€ (for the round trip) to have some ice cream etc. staff was great and the dogs that live by the hotel are nice too, some people wouldn’t like it but we did. WiFi is quite bad here. If you like peaceful and quiet place, this is our hotel.

My husband and me stayed there for 2 nights in sea view loft room. The resort is very beautifully located just on an isolated beach with breathtaking views of sunrise, sunset and some very small islands. Breakfast and overall food were good and decently priced. I had best experience of outdoor massage during sunset by the beach with moist sea breeze and very relaxing sound of waves enhanced my experience. Staff is very nice and helpful. Its 10km from downtown, so those who look for a place to relax and stay away from crowded places (like us), can blindly opt this resort. Highly recommended.

This was my family's first trip to the Philippines, and Palawan was the ambassador for our adventure. Even with the realization that we were coming in with a Western perspective, I was unprepared for the reality that I stepped into. The drive from Porta Princessa to El Nido was a crash course in Palawan life...real life for the population that was hosting us. While driving, we witnessed countless displays of tenacity and perseverance found among conditions that most Westerners would consider hopeless. Yet, these locals thrived in them, exhibiting a strength that quickly earned my respect. By the time we arived at the resort, I had aquired a new sense of humility. Stepping out of the van, my eyes were greeted by a view coming through the windows of the lobby. It was a glimpse of the ocean, with islands and colors that seem to have been the inspiration for many a publication. My family and I stood there, trying to capture what we were seeing with our cameras, but to no avail. It was something that could only be experienced in the present. As beautiful as this place is, it is only enhanced by the beauty of the people who call Palawan "home". The staff of El Nido Cove are an example of this. From the moment we checked in to the day of check out, we were treated to a level of hospitality and service that I have yet to encounter in the United States. John is one of the people on staff. He has a true heart of service. I had mentioned to him that I had a gluten allergy while ordering dinner. Though he was unfamiliar with my condition, John made a point to educate himself, going so far as to double check with the chefs whenever I ordered through the duration of our stay. If you have the pleasure of meeting him, be forewarned that he will raise your expectations of what "good service" should look like. He is in a class by himself. Ritchelle is another staff member worhy of recognition. Her smile and greeting are a constant reminder of what I love about this place. She was quick to address any issues we had to the best of her capabilities, in spite of a lack of resources provided to her. She handled a difficult job with diligence and grace. As for the rest of the staff, I have no complaints. They were mindful, and eager to serve. I would also like to commend their security for a job well done. Especially Daniel. They go through great lengths to protect their guests. While the resort is breathtaking in many regards, it could benefit from some minor improvements. I say this as a "heads up" to Western travelers who may have certain expectations. 1. There wasn't enough towels or linens for each room to get fresh ones daily. This seems to be less of a staff issue, and more likely a result of neglect by the owners. 2. After a few days in our room, we experienced a water issue. It was yellowish in color, and may have been due to the addition of chlorine. We let the staff know, but we were told to let it run through. 3. There are resident dogs on the property. They have access to places that many would consider off limits, including the dining area. While it was inconvenient at times, my son thoroughly enjoyed their companionship. The dogs are sweet natured and not aggressive...but they will cozy up to you in hopes of a tasty bite from your plate. "Rico", "Covey" and "Spike" are the regulars. 4. Some of the rooms are suffering from moisture damage and need some TLC - peeling paint, raised flooring, etc. The beds are extremely firm, and our sheets had cigarette burns. With that said, the A/C worked great in our room and offset other areas of apparent lack. It's not like a cheap hotel room...more like a nice hotel room in need of a remodel. While these "issues" might be considerable to some, I ask that you please take into consideration the reality of most of those who live on the island. What one might think is an unforgivable oversight, another may view as a valient effort to provide a guest with a sense of luxury they are unlikely to experience themself. The people of Palawan are resourceful. They make do with what they have, and are content with what they have been given. They do this while displaying a joy that defies their situation, looking for the positive in everyting. If you decide to travel to El Nido to experience it's unique beauty, please remember that it is the people who live and work there that truly make it beautiful.

We rented four rooms for a couple of nights. The property and landscape was beautiful. Every morning we had the complimentary breakfast out on the deck overlooking the ocean. The breakfast was a tasty full spread along with a chef making omelets and hot cakes just the way you like it. For the times we did not want to go out, we ate dinner there. There was quite a selection. The food was good and affordable. The rooms were clean and modern. The air conditioner kept the rooms nice and chilly. I would say that the beachfront rooms with a loft are a must if available. The staff are incredible. Ritchelle was assisting us with our every needs. This included getting a van shuttle, making awesome island hopping recommendations for excursions, and making room accommodations. Both John and Erwin seemed to be by our side at every meal making our dining experience wonderful. Our family really appreciated their kindness, service, and professionalism on this trip. There were no major hiccups with the facility. When we first arrived we noticed there were no shower towels. They had however left us with some beach towels. Their supply of regular towels had not returned yet. There was plenty of beach towels and by the next day this had been corrected. If your looking for a critique that’s all I have, very minor. We enjoyed our stay at the El Nido Cove Resort/ Palawan. The beautiful location and wonderful staff made it memorable. We would definitely recommend this place.

It was our first time in El Nido and we were excited. However, this place was disappointing. When we got to the resort, we didn't expect it to be under renovation. The accommodations seemed to look nice, but I was wrong. We reserved two rooms; one forest room and one beachside room. The forest room my aunt and her family stayed in wasn't very clean and the dogs had gotten mud and dirt all over the patio chairs. They didn't even have soap or shampoo in the bathroom. There wasn't enough water and the place started smelling bad. The beachside room was okay, but then I checked the sheets and the pillowcases on the loft and they weren't clean. There were marks on my pillowcase, so I removed it and used my towel to cover the pillow on the first night. I asked the staff to change the pillowcases and sheets the next day, but I noticed that they didn't. They were a bit short on staff, so I would have understood if they only gave us the new pillowcases and sheets for us to change ourselves. However, I noticed the pillows had been made and the same markings on the pillowcase I had the first night! I took it off and placed it on the floor again should the staff get in the room to change it. Guess what. They put the same pillowcase back on my pillow. If that's what they do with their pillowcases, I shudder to think what they do with the rest of the sheets and towels. Mind you, THIS PLACE WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. The only redeeming thing about this place was the one in charge of food and beverage (Sir John), and the kayaking to the secret island. Other than that, the place needs to improve A LOT, ESPECIALLY WITH SUCH AN EXPENSIVE RATE.
