But we had reserved 3 rooms of 3 for our whole family, i.e. 9 people (including children) and when we arrived we were surprised to see 1 bed for 2 in each room! So 6 places and not 9!
So we insisted on having an extra room which we paid extra for!
There were some slight delays to our van transfer from Puerto Princesa to El Nido, hence we arrived the inn at past 11pm already, but I did not worry since when I communicated through email with the inn saying our tentative arrival time, they mentioned that their front desk was available 24/7, which is a plus. Despite the time, the staff were very friendly and helpful to us in ushering us to our room and bringing our luggages.
Our room was really clean and looked new. It also felt private. However, the internet connection only was available at the lobby, so we had to linger there every night to be able to connect to the internet.
The hotel did not have a restaurant but it wasn't any problem at all since most restaurants were a mere 4-5 blocks away, that offered a wide choice of cuisines.
I would come back to Inngo Tourist Inn if given the opportunity to visit El Nido again.
PROS: Close to the restaurants and the beach. Approx 300 m from the restos and across the beach. Rooms were clean. Basic toiletries included. Tv works fine, includes some english movie channels. Very accommodating staff, and helpful. Offers free parking for scooters. Rooms were cleaned by housekeeping on the 3rd day. CCTV cameras in all floors. Common seating area in all floors. They also offer free Wifi access at the lobby area. If you are using a pocket wifi instead, Smart telco signal is mostly 3G, sometimes 4G. Not sure with Globe. Smoking is allowed only at the ground floor. Very useful is the balcony where you can dry your clothes and towels (they have racks and hangers). Oh, and they also offer tours. Tricycle stand is just in front of the hotel, which you can hire and go to Nacpan Beach (please see my separate review for attraction).. not sure how much it costs.
CONS: Aircon in room C2 located in the 3rd floor was not working properly. Unfortunately staff wasn't able to fix it and we couldn't move to a different room because they said that hotel was fully booked. Owner/manager apologized and they promised they will have it repaired soon. Unfortunately we already paid in full via Agoda so it was like a fan room for the entire stay. The other room was ok, a/c unit working fine. Also, there was a weird smell in the bathroom (like mold) and shower doesnt have a shower curtain so there was always water in the bathroom floor.. but it was not a big issue.
Things to consider: if you don't mind walking for 300m from the restos without compromising cleanliness, comfort and ambiance, this is a good place to stay.
If you are travelling with kids and/or elderly, better if you can contact directly the accommodation to get a room near the lobby or lower floor. Unfortunately I did not contact them and was travelling with seniors, and it was a bit difficult for them to stay in the 3rd floor room.
Overall, it was a good stay for the price I paid.
I don't know what the standard really is for similar hotels in Palawan but the bathroom towels were stained and, above all, the room was inhabited by cockroaches that came out of the cavities in the wooden floor. We can adapt to anything but this. Wi-fi present but not usable. It connected but it was as if it wasn't there.
The location of the hotel remains perfect. A 2-minute walk from the port where the tours depart and from the nightlife centre.
Proper warm water shower. Toothpaste and, shower kit provided
WiFi doesn’t work in the room, but hey, it’s Palawan, it’s the same everywhere.
I had an issue with the price. We paid $50 a night for a room that was dingy, low light, and the most unpleasant bathroom (it had one of those infamous "shoilet" shower/toilet combos - but the didnt build the floor to slant down towards the drain. So when you take a shower, the water gets all over everything and then just sits on the floor, not draining. You have to kick the water into the drain and then dry the floor w a towel if you want dry floors).
Also, room did NOT come with breakfast (unusual for this area, most do), the wifi is only accessible in the downstairs lobby and is paltry (very typical of this area), the hotel doesnt have a generator for scheduled "brown outs," and the staff, while nice, dont speak great english.
Will say, the rooms in the new building are better than the old building. We switched after two nights, then switched hotels altogether. Paid $10 more for a room across the street that had everything this place was lacking.
We spoke to the owner about it and in the beginning he has like a bit upset to us since we were complaining that our room has a defective airco.
And he has making a kind of alibi that it was due to power interuption that happened ealier and therefore the room was warm when we arrived.
But when they realised that we did our room reservation via booking.com then he was a bit soft in his word and even has offered us to have money back when we don't satisfied our stay (do you think this is the right way you'll trait your customer?).
