Lolo Oyong is located in the buzzling town center of Poblacion El Nido. It is a tourist inn perched at the bottom of a towering limestone karst cliff and fronting the main Rizal Street. Lolo Oyong is a 5 minutes walk or a minute tricycle ride to the beach where motorboats are waiting for you to be ferried to the breathtaking lagoons and powdery white sand beaches in the Bacuit bay.

I have just spent the past week staying at Lolo Oyong Pension House and was very pleased, after a long van ride from Puerto Princessa to El Nido I just needed a room for that evening with the intention of finding something more permanent the next day but after a friendly greeting and check-in by Meggy I decided it was a good choice, it is close to the town centre but away from the main bars and restaurants, free breakfast was included every morning, I found the room to be quiet and was able to get a good nights sleep each night, there was air con and a comfy bed, in the immediate area you will have plenty of choice of motorcycle rental, tours for beaches and lagoons and general day to day needs such as ATM machines, laundry services and so on.
Meggy was extremely warm and helpful and if I ever return to El Nido I will not hesitate to stay here again.

I booked this accommodation as a part of a tour package to Palawan. I stayed here for two nights and three days.

Cleanliness: (3/5) the hotel really has cleanliness as a focus. The hotel lobby, common areas, restaurant are all very clean and neat and well maintained. This not is not a luxury hotel so everything is not spic and span and shining, but all areas are clean per se.

Comfort: (3/5) the beds, pillows are basic (thin mattress and pillows, simple brown blankets) but are fairly comfortable.

Decor: (4/5) I really liked their rustic interior decor. Different/traditional furniture, shell curtains, some contemporary lounge chairs/sofas - all very lovely.

Facilities: (4/5) They have non smoking rooms, air conditioning, desk, fan, hot & cold shower rooms. Soap, shampoo, towels are provided. They have shared lounge / TV area in case you want to sit with friends outside of the room. They also arrange tri cycles for commute around, and can also arrange island hopping tours. El Nido doesn’t have electricity 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM – however this hotel has a generator and we had electricity in the mornings to charge our cameras and phones before leaving for island hopping! Check in time: 2pm. Check out time:12pm

Food & drinks: (4/5) I had breakfast here twice which was included in our stay. There are many a Philippino food options and some continental cuisine as well. You must pre- order the plated choice the previous night. Along with this there will be buffet bread, butter, marmalade, fruits and drinks(tea/coffee/milo/juice).
We had omelette with bread and sunny side up with bread. The food was well cooked, tasty and healthy. There were fruits (bananas and watermelon), breads with butter/jam, juice, tea and coffee at the buffet.

Location: (2.5/5) The pension house is situated in El Nido Town Proper. From here, the main beach is an easy 5 min walk away. Most island hopping tours will start from here. Also this main beach is the place where plenty beach front restaurants are located for lunch/drinks/dinner. Las Cabanas beach is 80-150pesos tricycle ride away. They will quote 150 one way, but you can bargain for about 80 pesos one way.
Note that the pension house is located on the main busy Rizal street – noise is unavoidable.

Rooms: (3/5) There are 18 rooms in total. Ask the receptionist to give you rooms that are not facing the street. Floor two has rooms 8 & 9 facing the street so avoid those. They have single, double executive and twin rooms and prices range from P1,500,P1,800 to P2,000 per room, inclusive of breakfast. We stayed in double executive. The room was fairly spacious. It had a double bed and a single bed – so ideally three people can stay in the room. However, do note that prices are based on double occupancy and extra person charge is P450.

Service: (4/5) The pension house surprised us with their level of service efficiency. The hotel is basic and budget – but the service standards match that of a five star hotel!

Staff: (5/5) Beth, Let, Fred are absolutely fantastic! They were very helpful with directions/information/ breakfast. They are kind and cheerful and meeting them at the beginning of the day makes for a good start!

Value for money: (3.5/5) This hotel is value for the buck. You can stay at a beach front hotel – but this main town beach is not your usual calm pristine beach. And beach front stay will be more expensive. Lolo Oyong is a good value for money budget stay.

Wi-Fi: (4/5) the connectivity was great in all areas- room, common area, reception. We had no issues whatsoever.

Overall: (4/5) this place is a fantastic budget place to stay. They have everything you need, nothing you don't!y

We stayed here 4 days and 3 nights the room was basic but regardless what is more important is the cleanliness. The room have 2 beds (1 double bed & 1 single bed) and we slept comfortable and noise free. It was spacious and good for 3-4 persons. They also have complimentary toiletries and hangers for wet clothes. The interior of the house is Filipino Native house that makes you feel more relaxing and province feeling, and I love it. They also have filipino board games like sungka, ( it's been a long time since I saw one :) ) if your not fan of it they have free wifi. They also have complimentary breakfast that will be pre- ordered at night for your preference, choices will be the traditional Filipino Silogs with buffet bread, fruits and drinks. Breakfast is great to start our long day of tour. The hotel staff is very friendly and they will assist you anytime. They will even give you El Nido souvenirs before you leave, so thoughtful act :)
Overall it's a good place right on the main road with friendly and helpful staff with complimentary breakfast and 5-10 min walk to the beach.

When booking this hotel, we had three in our party and were told that we had to book two rooms because one room would not hold the three of us. Upon arrival we found a full size bed and a twin size bed which would more than accommodate the three of us. When expressing this to the hotel desk, we were told it was too late to make changes and we'd have to keep the booking the way it was. I don't like being taken advantage of just so they can fill their rooms. It was noisy all night, breakfast was loud and less than satisfactory. We were happy to leave. Save your money for the better choices in hotels.

We stayed here for three days last month. I have no complaints. Basic accommodation, with a common area and a canteen. It is along the road and just 5-7mins walk to the beach.

The staff are very nice. While reading a book in their 3rd floor lounge area, I forgot my wallet in the couch and I went back to our room. After a few minutes one of their staff knocked and handed me back my wallet which contains all my cash, cards and ids!!!

I really appreciate it that's why I left him a tip before we left the accomodation.

I am definitely going to book their place once again when we comeback to El Nido in 2015.

I stayed here 4 days the rooms are basic but are well kept and very clean. The electricity is on from 6pm-6am so those are the hours to take your warm shower. I also believe these are the hours the wifi will function. The hotel turns on its generator in the AM for cooking breakfast. The breakfast is nice especially when the hotel has over 20 guests they lay out additional items in the lobby. The lobby is spacious and i recall seeing boardgames available for guest use.
The hotel staff is very friendly and they will assist you the best they can be it with island hopping bus reservations etc. Overall a nice property right on the main road with good staff and free breakfast if you can get it for cheaper than locations inside el nido town its worth it and only a 5-10 min walk to the town.

My sister and I stayed here for two nights. The place looks like your own home, and not a typical hotel. Free wifi but take note of the time they switched on their generator as use of air con and wifi is not 24/7. Moreover, I noticed each room got their own hanger rack located outside their door for wet clothes, which is quite creative, usually common hostel would have a common area for everybody to put your wet clothes. They also have a simple breakfast menu. Overall, If I will visit El Nido again, I would still choose this place not only for great location to the port area but also for the comfort I experienced.

My boyfriend and I stayed here recently for 5 nights. We were pleased with the room. It was a good size, had air-con, fan, hot/cold water, double and single beds and was very clean. The wifi works well in the room and its perfectly good if you're a backpacker on a budget. We paid PhP1800 per night which is quite expensive due to it being April which is high season. A lot of the accommodation in El Nido is fairly pricey.
Down sides- the hotel is directly on the Main Street so it can be noisy with all the motorbikes and trikes going past at night. Ask for a room at the back to avoid the noise. The breakfast included in the room rate was ok, you order what you want the night before. Breakfast is between 6.30 am and 8.30am so very early, we said 8.15 and was given a cold breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast. This was a shame but they also provide cereal, bread and jam so this made up for it.
I would recommend staying here even though they're not totally perfect.

First time we went to El Nido with my boyfriend and we booked this place through the travel agency we met in Puerto Princesa. The location of this house is along the main road. We got the room on the ground floor so we can really hear the tricycle passing by. The staff were nice and accommodating however the head of the reception is quite lost because he doesn't know the exact prices of the activities. All in all place is good enough for the place.

I was traveling with my 62 yo mother so I was looking for a place that's comfy, nice, and economical. A week prior to our arrival, I texted, emailed, and called several 'reasonably' priced.resorts/B&Bs in El Nido town, nobody replied so I guess everything is fully booked except for Lolo Oyong's. I booked the executive twin room at Php1,800 per nite for our 4D3N stay. My mother has asthma & Ive allergic rhinitis so we need to be in a 'safe' place. I found it here at Lolo Oyong's. I was amazed when we got there coz I wasnt prepared what to expect. Along the street that it's in, Lolo Oyong stands out from the rest of the B&Bs & I was amazed it wasn't #1 here. I thought it deserves a good review. The rate I paid for is quite hight but I think it's worth it. It includes bfast, a/c room w/ ensuite T&B, and wifi. Ask for a room at the back of the house facing the cliffs. The tuktuks could be very noisy & it goes on til like 2am. It's quite a busy street so Im glad I booked this room. It's located at the 3rd floor, outside the room was a suite/living area w/ big sofas, tv, and a window with an unobstructed view of the cliff. No TV inside the room but who needs that when you are in El Nido. When it's fully booked, wifi gets slow so you need to go down the lounge/bfast nook at the ground floor. Breakfast was satisfying, they'd ask you to choose amongst the Filipino bfast they offer a nite before but what they didnt tell you is that there will be a buffet spread composed of fresh fruits, cereals, and local breads which you can go back to -- to your heart's delight. They also have free instant coffee, instant choco drink, tea, water, and powdered juice -- all for free! Instant coffee sells at P30 in EN! For 1800 / nite Im happy! The water does smell but it's bcoz it's coming from a pump. It won't kill you. They also did a great job touching up our room. I normally stay at JW Marriott - Marriott hotel chains when I go outside of the Philippines and I could say I dont get impressed easily. But when you're in an isolate town, one needs to be flexible, and Lolo Oyong won my heart. I would certainly stay here again if I still cant afford Miniloc or Lagen in the future *wink wink* Btw, it's a 5min walk to the beachfront but it's not really that desirable. You need to go on tours to experience the beauty of EN. A BF place is not really a necessity. It's just murky water & lotsa noisy bars/resto.
