Where do I start ???? Check in ....wrong rooms, bad English, student working now idea what she did, not find the booking.....The room.....no aircon working, no wifi working, no drinking water, no water pressure in shower, .....asking to talk to the manager, she didnt know who it was or no phone number. I asked for the email adress, she didnt know that either.....all in all STAY AWAY its just a mess....oh I forgot, they didnt clean the room day 2...i mean its 6 PM and still haven`t clean anything !!! HOW IS IT POSSIBLE to run a "hotel" like this ? And 3 stars ? hahahaha 1 star it is !!!!!
The hotel we stayed has no view but the room is clean. Basic amenities provided and the pillow provided is 4 instead of 2 like most hotels in this category. They provide free coffee outside the room which is near the balcony area. It is a place to stay and its safe, surrounded by many restaurants and other small hotels. Recommended for family too.
Rooms are spacious, looks clean. There is free wifi, with repeaters on each floor. In the room there’s A/C, a ceiling fan, a TV, a dresser table and some wooden chairs. Some reviews mention dirty water and a funky smell. There is a slightly funky smell which you’ll get used to so it’s not a big deal. Water from the faucet was not that dirty in my opinion, probably depends on the supply. In each floor there is a common area where you can fix yourself free coffee and tea. Each floor has a balcony area, the 3rd to 4th floors have a great view of the bay. There is no elevator, only stairs. There’s intermittent power interruptions (not the hotel’s fault). For those times, there’s a generator that usually kicks in, you won’t be able to use the A/C but the ceiling fan should work. Location is great. Walking distance to the pier where boat tours start, lots of restos around, located centrally downtown. There is a small ref in the lobby where you can buy mineral water, but there are small convenience stores outside also. We usually leave the keys in the lobby when going out. We stayed 3 nights, rooms weren’t proactively cleaned while we were gone. It didn’t matter to us since we weren’t really messy, but some people might be looking for regular room cleanups. Prices are affordable. View at the top floor is great.…
Pros: in the center of the town, very near to the restaurants. The rooms are big. We requested an extra mattress and they forgot to put it in our room and tried to charge it on us. Cons: Dirty water and brushed my teeth using their tap on my first day! Ewwww Old beddings.
The fan switch in our room caught on fire at 3am. The air con doesn't work. The hotel staff wouldn't let us borrow the phone to call the hospital when I got sick. They were also very rude and never acknowledged us. We spent our 2nd last night in hospital in El Nido, that was better accomodation than Garnet Hotel.
Glad we just booked for a day (less than 12 hours). 3 rooms & their mattress smells really OLD. Their tap water was so dirty (had unpleasant odour). We didn’t even trust their water dispenser. Had to buy our own distilled water to clean ourselves. Highly recommend you all to pay a little more for a better stay. Pros: it’s near a lot of restaurants and bars.
To start with the positives, the location is very good in El Nido town. 1 min walk to the beach and right by restaurants and plenty of taxis. The room itself was fine if a bit dated. It was comfortable enough and did the job. The negatives, no not water at all throughout my stay. I was there for nearly a week. The staff are very rude and disinterested in you. When you walk in they are far too busy on their phones than to do their jobs. Their jobs seem like an imposition and they never great you or smile. My room was at the front of the hotel and was noisy due to the disco down the road. The balcony doors don't lock properly and thus let in lots of noise. I would reccomend a room towards the back of the hotel. This hotel really falls to take advantage of its location, but it is cheap which is what gives it an extra star. At the moment a few new hotels are going up around the island, so with more competition mediocre experiences like this will eventually be forced out of business.…
We came to El Nido and needed an acommodation for 2 nights. The tricycle driver dropped us off in the centre and I checked 3 hotels next to each other. Garnet was the best looking one, so we stayed. It’s ok for a short stay, but we didn’t feel comfortable in there for some reason. It had some weird feeling and wasn’t the cleanest. Mould at the bathroom walls etc.
The location for this hotel couldn’t get any better your exactly on the street where everything is happening! The hotel itself is ok we’ve stayed in better for a lot cheaper but you won’t find anywhere cheaper really for the location! The room was ok, the bed is comfy! We did have a issue with a sound from outside our window it was like a banging and scratching really loud like someone was breaking in!! I went to reception just to double check it as it wouldn’t stop and it was very loud and very late at night and they sent security to come look and he insisted it’s insects however it was very loud to be insects! We heard it for the next 3 nights staying there! Made us feel uncomfortable. There are also ants on the walls and floors in the bathroom. The view from the hotel is so lovely and they also book your trips for you which is also a bonus! We done the island tour A and it was unbelievable so much fun I highly recommend it and booking through the hotel!! I feel hotel needs a revamp for the cost you pay to stay here! …
You can see the beach right from your balcony. No Breakfast but with free coffee. Many eatery nearby. I booked mine via Agoda the day before my stay. The price was less than a thousand PHP before tax.
