1. We arrived at Lime Resort El Nido 2 nights ago. Told upon arrival we have to book on booking.com, so we did. Only room left was deluxe, but was told by reception that we would be able to upgrade from Mountain view to partial sea view once booked (albeit this wasn’t on booking.com). We booked, and was told to return at 2pm to check in so we did. We were then told that partial sea view was no longer available… instead we could upgrade to a suite which was considerably more money, but meant we’d have a sea view. We declined and proceeded to our room, unhappy that we booked under the premise that we’d have an affordable upgrade… Our ‘deluxe double’ room was tiny and consisted of two small beds wide enough for a single pillow. We then decided to pay the extra for a suite due to this. We were then told the suite isn’t ready and so we waited and waited and was not shown to the room until gone 5:30pm… we did in fairness receive a small discount. 2. The room - the room , floor aside, is amazing, and the view is stunning, there is however staining on the floor, no idea what it is, but makes the room unattractive when you walk in. Finally, we thought we could relax… we were wrong, laying on the bed which is directly in the sight of the door… a worker of the hotel let himself into our room with 2 random strangers, immediately shut it once he saw us, and the re-opened to apologise… thankfully he was apologetic but it makes you think, who is going in and out of your room when you’re out and about and WHY? 3. Food - overall buffet breakfast has been not too bad, as we’re vegetarian and sometimes find this difficult, but they offer vege and vegan options. The pizza on the rooftop is AMAZING! Room service however… we ordered Nachos without beef, due to be vegetarians for 10+ years, and confirmed via the phone and again once it arrived NO BEEF, however it was covered in beef. We rang to inform them we will not be paying for the nachos as we’re not eating them, and the response was ‘sorry sorry we’ll check’. Check what? We explained again we will not be paying. Our room was cleaned today, but by cleaned I mean the bed was made and the plate of beef nachos left there. 4. Staff - most staff are wonderful, waiting staff, housekeeping and doorstaff, very kind and will show a smile and say hello. There are the odd one or two which are not great. We explained we had no smaller cash to pay at the bar, and was told that the have no change… we said really sorry but we have nothing smaller to which the lady proceeded to kiss her teeth, open the till and provide us with change for our purchase. No idea why small things are such an issue. 5. We’ve stayed in 5 hotels before here in Coron & El Nido, this has been the most expensive with the worst service. We’re here until Wednesday and hope and pray that things improve!! Overall spectacular views, great food (as long as they don’t mess up your order) and comfy bed! I’ll edit this review accordingly if service improves.

We have travelled to many countries and areas domestically and always try to be impartial and provide what is good and not so goood about a location or where we stayed. In saying that the Lime Resort El Nido can only be described as an "opportunity lost" From arrival when we were hit with a strong sewerage smell at the entrance and lobby we also encountered a number of issues that made for a less than enjoyable stay. While check in was seamless and pleasant enough there was no explaination given about the "odor" throughout the lobby, it appeared as if staff we just ignoring it. When shown to our room the sewerage smell was almost overwhealming, we immediately approached a maintenence person who entered the room and the look on his face was evident enough that he could smell it. To their credit maintenence staff tried so hard to eradicate the smell by cleaning filters, taping any areas that the smell could enter via the airconditioner however a can of Glen20 became our friend and was in constant use to mask the smell. Even after speaking with reception we were given no explaination for the unacceptable smell in our room and the foyer. We eventually found out the hotel has significant sewerage pipe issues requiring repairs. Just acknowledging the issue and explaining what was going on would have been far more professional than ignoring the unacceptable. Our room (apart from the smell) was beautiful with a magnificant view across the bay and into the sunset. Everything electric (including the curtains) is certainly novel, the fully glass bathroom with sensor lights is definately different, however again Lime Resort didn't live up to expectation. The toilet seat had almost come off and notwithstanding being told ,it was left to my husband to remove the seat retighten the pins and replace the seat. House keeping was hit and miss, one day no hand towels or floor mat. The next day flooor mats and hand towels but no bath towels. It was easier to find house keeping and ask for what you needed. The infinity pool and view from the same is spectacular however again we were let down. A lunch order including drink was totally missed, even after the waitress hasd repeated the orders no arrival of one of our meals. The Lime Resort is not a budget resort, it is in a speactular location however it is severly letting itself down with maintenence issues and some staff who appear to think near enough is good enough. Good Premier Sea View Room and view from same Infinity pool and view Breakfast Massages across the drive Maintenence attempts to reduce smell Bad Smell Lack of explaination about odor General Service (hit and miss)

I am quite dissatisfied with this resort's customer service. I work in the aviation sector and I am a hotelier. I am aware of a few fundamental guidelines for providing service, and this hotel failed to adhere to any of them. They are far more tolerant of outsiders than they are of their own countrymen and Filipinos. My pick-up driver concurs with it, since he was disregarded when my local driver asked the receptionist about me. Ms. Kate at the front desk wasn't very accommodating when I checked in. I don't know if they are short-staffed or where the telephone operator is, but she should not have ignored me and maybe asked me to sit down first and ask for my passport to ensure a seamless transaction. All of the employees are in the reception area while I'm waiting, evidently gossiping about me. During breakfast, all of the waiters are rude to us "Filipinos" because their attention is on foreigners and not locals. However, the OJT working the egg station, Ms. Deanne, is unquestionably more pleasant than the OJT working the door, who is an usherette but only directs foreigners to their seats. The pool area and the roof deck at sunset are undoubtedly the only reasons anyone would select this resort, however you may access the facilities by paying for a day's use or by ordering food. The room is nice, but it hasn't been cleaned well enough. There is a bad smell coming from the drainage, and you can see psychodidae, also known as drain flies, in the room. This means that their drainage is bad. Because they don't provide it here, I wouldn't advise visitors or travelers to this resort who value good customer service. I am additionally saddened by the fact that there are trainees and OJTs present. How can they learn if their coworkers are unable to provide or exhibit quality services?

We read a lot of the reviews about this place before our visit which were pretty mixed but in spite of of a few things that could be improved, we had a really good and a comfortable 4 night stay here. The staff on reception were helpful and responsive when we were emailing them to arrange a pick up. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss, and the cleaners forgot to replace toilet paper and bath mats, and even took away what toilet paper we had so that we had none when we got back to the room which wasn’t helpful. Breakfast was average and the staff were clearly struggling to clear tables and often plates and cups were left on free tables and we often had to ask them to replenish things that had run out for example fruit and butter. On our last breakfast here, butter had been smeared all over the toaster tray where the toast falls down, and we had to ask someone to clean it as the area had been left in a mess. One staff member was replenishing bread in this area and seemed completely oblivious to the mess. The standard of cleanliness wasn’t great and the variety of breakfast options average. It gets really busy in the breakfast area between 7-8am as people grab breakfast before they go on their tours so avoid this time if you can. On one day we struggled to get a table because it was so busy! Our room was on the 8th floor and it was so irritating as you had to get 2 lifts as the lift didn’t go all the way up to this floor from reception. We would recommend that you don’t get a room on the 7th or 8th floor for this reason. The room however was clean with modern linen and a nice big safe. There are also loads of USB ports which was so helpful for charging phones and cameras. Having electric controlled lights and curtains was a bit unnecessary and the lights in the bathroom in our room didn’t always switch off and we had to use the master switch for this. However the infinity pool was amazing with the best sunset views and nice loungers and they also made some nice cocktails. We enjoyed looking out at the islands below. We thought that the transfer to the airport in El Nido which was a short 20 minute taxi ride away was exorbitant in price - 1500 pesos which is more expensive than the UK! A couple of things that can also be improved are that to get down to the beach, you walk out to the right of the hotel across lots of rubbish and building rubble and next to broken mirrors. Whilst this might not be the property of the hotel, as guests are using this area to get down to the beach, it wouldn’t do any harm to tidy this area up. There was also a strange smell in the lobby and reception area of sewerage. The hotel was a bit far out from the town but close to Vanilla beach which was lovely and very cool and for 100 pesos you could get in to the town. The sunset views in Lime are unrivalled. Despite some of the quirky points highlighted, we had a great time. This is probably the most modern hotel we stayed in whilst in the Philippines with nice modern amenities, a comfortable bed and a lovely shower.

We really enjoyed our stay here as the pool and rooftop are just wonderful to sit at in the afternoon and watch the sunset, with free icecream and popcorn. We had a balcony room, but our friends room had no window, so be careful. Fri Sat night they had great live music from 6 to 9pm, and we atge there too...good food. Massage place outside front door was superb, and cheaper beer etc at little shop just outside to. Cost $3 for 2 people into town, so cheap and easy. Loved this place

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 3 week tour of Philippines with my wife and 2 young children as well as my father and sisters. We had 3 standard rooms with side sea views booked on B&B basis. OKish, but overpriced for facilities and service. Would not stay again or recommend. The good 7th Floor bar area and pool area have amazing views Upgraded one room to a sky suite - huge balcony and 3 person jacuzzi outside.. same amazing view Staff all generally pleasant and trying hard easy to organise van (minibus) to \ from airport (1500 each way) and into El Nido town at night (700) USB sockets, international plugs and electric curtains in all rooms.. a nice touch The indifferent Weird and very slow lifts.. you cannot go from reception to 7th floor bar without swapping lifts partway up and changing to a different lift set.. took time to get from one place to other, Breakfast was OK.. but pretty much the same each day, with no traditional classics on the days we were there.. also staff a bit disorganised at breakfast.. tables not being cleared quick enough.. items on buffet running out frequently. Ordered lunch first day.. some had finished before other were served. What we did have was generally quite good and tasty.. and the beers were cold so no real complaints. The bad a strange smell of mixed bleach and sewage.. especially in common areas and lifts. It was constant and unavoidable

This hotel had mixed reviews so we were not sure what to expect. It’s not a luxury hotel so our expectations are not high. But our experience was overall a good one. The concierge was helpful. Housekeeping was responsive. Breakfast was really good and had lots of variety. It’s included so I was really surprised how much effort they put into it. This experience is universal so I am surprised at reviews that says it’s bad. They always have rice and 2 dishes. Then there’s the western eggs, sausages or longanisa or corned beef. French toast or pancakes or waffles, Pandesal, breads, cereal. Mini salad bar, desserts, fresh fruits. And they have an omelette bar where they cook to order. I mean this is not an 5 star hotel so to offer that much food is awesome. We got a room with an even number so it is with a balcony and a view. The room was clean. And when we needed the room made up, they made it by the time we got back at 5pm. Infinity pool was great. You can also borrow towels when you go on island hopping tour. Most hotels won’t let you do that. So that was nice. Some things that did not go well. We did not get picked up from the airport. We were lucky there was a van dropping off guests at the airport, so after some phone calls, they gave us a ride to the hotel. They did not charge us 1500 pesos for it. Our rooms were not ready at 11:30am, so we left our luggages at the concierge and had lunch at the Pulp Cafe and enjoyed our food. There were 3 of us but only 2 towels, so asked for more, but that happens in every hotel. Don’t even try to go out on the beach, it was ugly and not worth it. But we expected that so no big deal. If you want a reasonably priced hotel, go for it. Just understand that you have to ride the tricycle to go to town 100 pesos each way. And no beach but nice pool.

Let's start with the good: - The inifinity pool view Now to the bad: - We had been booked a Deluxe King (or configured to a King Room). We were given a room on the 3rd floor but upon entering, it was still configured as two doubles. That room also looked like it had been painted by a 3 year old, very poor quality of finish. None of the auto options for the lights & curtains worked, there was no remote control for the TV in the room and the view from the window looked out onto artificial grass stuck on the wall - wouldn't be so bad if you could actually open the window. After speaking to reception, about two hours later we were moved to a room on the second floor which at least looked like it had been finished being painted and had a balcony window which we could at least open and the electrics were working (and we had a remote for the TV!). Mind you, it was still configured as 2 doubles but after a long day of travel, we just couldn't be bothered asking to be re-configured so put up with it for our stay. - Housekeeping (or lack of it I should say). Despite using the indicator on 2 separate days to say we wanted our room made up, it never was. When they did knock on the door to ask if we wanted our room made up, it was usually around 5.30pm and we were getting ready for dinner. This seemed to be a trend that others in our party experienced as well - no one wants their room made up of an evening! We actually had to just find the housekeeping cart to grab fresh towels as our requests just were never responded to. One our our party were in their room when housekeeping came to clean their room and the witnessed the staff, wash the coffee cups in their room basin then proceed to dry them with the dirty towels that were in their bathroom!!! - Lazy staff. When we finally did get to go up to the pool area, there were at least 10 staff that were just standing around the bar just talking to each other. No one was attending to empty glasses or asking guests if they would like another drink. Everyone had to go to the bar and ask for service, just not good guest relations. When a guest dropped a glass on the floor, the cleanup was half hearted at best. I actually had to go and get one of the people deep in their own conversations at the bar to pick the remaining shattered glass that was under tables & chairs and still on the floor. Only after I went to reception and pointed all of this out did staff start doing their jobs but the next day, it was back to normal. - Conferences. While we were at the hotel, there were two conferences and a wedding. Trying to get service or even getting into the restarant for breakfast was a nightmare because of the attendees. All in all, a terrible experience - the best part of our stay was knowing that at some point it would be over...
