Beautiful boutique-style hotel set back from the beach a bit among coconut trees on their grounds. Mary Ann, the caretaker, is top-notch. Ask and you shall receive. Their speedboat tour was amazing. Great staff, good food, but the amazing part was the visit to a private island and beach off the beaten path, unattainable by slower boats. we enjoyed that beach for 4 hours, along with our lunch. We were the only boat there, none even ventured close enough to be seen, so we had the entire beach to ourselves. unique plants, pristine sand. not a footprint to be found! Gentle waves and gorgeous surroundings.

Very nice apartment in El Nido. A little far from the city (15min walk) but it’s quiet and just by the sea which is really pleasant. The apartment is confortable, spacious and clean. I recommend this place!

I had an amazing experience at La Salangane Hotel. It's in the heart of the El Nido, close to everything. The staff there are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Breakfast every morning was delicious. My experience here was absolutely phenomenal 10/10. They assisted us with all of our tour preparations and booking which was extremely convenient. I will definitely stay here again.

Booked the hotel but got moved to the villas on another beach about a mile away from the main beach which was a pest in the evenings for getting food etc. Really old dirty room, poor shower pressure, the toilet didn’t flush half the time resulting in us filling pans with water to flush it! The main issue though was the bed bugs. I was eaten alive by them over night then the morning we went to check out I saw a dead one on the sheet so I have no doubt they have a serious bedbug problem. Would not recommend.

I just want to be straight forward in my own opinion here. At first, I was worried I booked this place considering I have read some reviews before leaving. I also had problems with paying deposits as the lady who’s in charge has had many connection problems and every time we called the place my partner has had a chef, waitress and all sorts who could not deal with queries and bookings...so eventually we finally have sorted something out when we got there, it was stressful but no big deal as that’s quite common in some parts of the Philippines as-well. I had mentioned it was our 7 years anniversary on the note. We booked double room with sea views. When we arrived in El Nido, our room was beautiful (covered in pink petals)! the views just stunning! I thank the staff for doing this nice gesture, it was lovely! We watched daily in this balcony every morning when we wake up and watch everyone take off in the boats to go island hopping.. it’s fascinating watching and chilling in your own balcony when you want. We did tour A one day and that was absolutely great! Everything is nearby just steps away... we went down one night only at the bar chilling and staff are very fun and friendly once you get to know them. Our room was cleaned and made every morning. Clean towels daily. Aircon is decent and always cold. I highly recommend ‘Jarace Grill’ restaurant just a minute walk away from this hotel if you love seafood! Its fresh out from the sea at a cheap price! It’s definitely a must! We ate in many places every night and day which means we never got the chance to try the restaurant here. Negative reasons - I have given this place 3 stars because of the bathroom situation. In my opinion, the shower was rusty, the bathroom leeks every time you flushed the toilet, the shower door won’t close and it’s seriously stiff and it’s that old it won’t close or you will break it if you try. The shower water is smelly! We actually ran the shower for good minutes before use because the smell calms down eventually. We didn’t make a big deal because stupid thing like this don’t bother us too much because we’re only there for short period of time and we’re not the fussiest person in the world so it’s no big deal. I’ve seen worst and We’ve been many luxury hotels. Price- second thing is the price for this hotel I think it’s kinda rude to ask that much for this hotel because it’s not up to its standards with hygiene and bathroom situation. I would absolutely give this 5 stars any-day if the bathroom was at least descent or at least in working condition. It’s sad how a hotel room this nice and almost perfect and bathroom is not in good working condition. I expect to pay this much altogether knowing I have a good working bathroom to get to so this part is the only part that disappoints me a little bit considering the price we paid for this hotel so when people mentioned the bathroom on their reviews, that part was definitely true

This review is not only about the hotel. I never stayed there, actually. It’s mainly about a person, who helped me and my friends to stay happy and grateful at our vacation time in Philippines. This person is a manager in La Salangane Hotel, Restaurant and I guess Dive Shop? My job requires a lot of travel. For the last 6 years I’ve visited 300+ cities in Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa, South America, Australia and New Zealand. This time few friends, including me, decided to take a vacation in Philippines. Planned to do the island hopping. Start was in Manila, then El Nido, after comes Coron and Busuanga and Cebu for the dessert. Booking flights to El Nido was easy and we spent some good time in there. Tried the Greek restaurant on the beach and it was okay but I liked La Salangane way better for its atmosphere and people. Food was great and fresh. Served in time and big portions. Also I recommend to try their rum. It’s based on the famous Philippines’s Tanduay and kept it barrels with different fruits or spices for a long time so it has it’s own flavour. Try Ginger rum on the rocks if you like ginger, of course. Anyway. Had a great time. The bill was about 6k for 7 of us so it’s more that affordable. The next day was our last day in El Nido before travel to Coron and something unexpected happened. We stayed at the Country Inn hotel. And it’s partner, who was in charge of our tickets for a fast ferry to Coron ditches our whole group and we are getting stuck on the island, loosing the next hotel reservation and money. After many debates with the hotel we couldn’t win and find any other ways to leave the island on time. So we basically went to every place in downtown of El Nido in search of someone who could help us. After couple hours we got to know that some places could arrange one of the motorised boats for us and get us to Coron in 6-8 hours, which was okay but the price wasn’t. 5 to 6k per person. Food is not included and possibilities of another group of people on the same boat. So last place we went to was the restaurant where we one had dinner - La Salangane. And our luck found us! We met Mitch! Wonderful and kind woman, who listened to our story and decided to help. After couple hours in that restaurant we got a deal that changed our viewpoint on People in Philippines. Next day in the morning we met at the restaurant and she provided us with freshly made sandwiches (she asked about our choices the night before), personal bottle of water for each member of our group. Two bottles of house rum(we had to pay, but the price was more than reasonable) and a private van driver who took us to the other side of the island. There we met the crew members of the boat. 3 positively smiling men took our backpacks and got them on the boat and helped us to get comfortable on the deck. It was mid size expedition boat, prepared for a long time in open waters. I got to say that I was probably the best travel day I ever had in my life. It was great in so many aspects. On top of that we were able to talk to the captain and request few stops on different paradise island, where no one usually can get with any tours offered. Our journey started about 7 am and we got to Coron city around 5 pm, happy and satisfied. The whole trip with van, food and boat cost us about 4k pesos per person. The rest of our trip went good, btw. :) This is my personal “thank you” to Mitch. For helping and organising the trip that made us fall in love with Philippines.

If you are looking for a quiet place, this is the place to be. A bit of a set back is the commute. The only means of transportation is via walking 15 to 20 minutes to get to town or wait for the properties customize tricycle service. The walk is not easy, especially at night. The road is rocky and can be muddy if it rained. To get to the beach villa, you must pass a narrow alleyway, so the tricycle is tailored too fit. They only have one tricycle, so it is a bit tricky when you have more than three people in a group & luggage. The Housekeeper was very accommodating but do not let your guard down. If you need Laundry service, you will pass by a Laundry service before you get to the Villa that can do your laundry for 50 pesos a KG. The Housekeeper charged 120 pesos a KG so shop around. I think she sent our clothes to that place and in turn, double cost us the 120 pesos per KG. Beware of Room # 1; the Air Conditioner did not work the entire three nights we stayed. They provided two Electric fans, but it was still disappointing. I would go back if they can add additional tricycle service to their establishment. Three people from the group would take the service, and the remaining would walk to save time. Travel time to get to town by tricycle is 10 minutes and another 10 minutes to get back to the Beach Villa. There is a total of four beach villa with one service that can fit a max of three people. You are forced to walk to town if you want to make your tour on time.

La Salangane was perfectly fine, and the view from our room was wonderful since we got the sea view room. The room came with a cable TV, wifi (albeit slow), air conditioning, hot and cold shower, a mini bar, and a safe. The balcony was great for enjoying the sunrise or having some drinks at night. The location was also great, since it's right in the town center, with many restaurants and stores nearby, and the island hopping pick up point just a short walk away. They also cleaned our room upon request, and packed our breakfast since we had to check out early. We stayed in the hotel located in town. At first we were not aware that they had 2 locations as it was not very clear on their website. After reading some of the negative reviews here, it was clear that El Nido town proper is not for the fussy, because there will always be noise in the town proper and power outages (which are beyond any hotel's control). As for my boyfriend and I, well, honestly we were too busy enjoying the beauty of El Nido to complain about the accommodations. My only notes for improvement are: the communication with the management upon booking. They sometimes need following up. I hope they will be more proactive with communicating with guests. Also, some of their breakfast sets have drinks while others don't..?

Manager and owner don't deserve the stuffs that they have, the communication between them is none, we had to check-in and out 3 times until we decided to leave, they took them 3 days to refund us for the rest of our stay, after to call them few times. The place? Really noisy and smelly. I usually don't write any reviews but this guys deserves one. Awful

Response from inquirylasalangane, Manager at La Salangane Hotel
Responded Nov 24, 2017
Hello, Mr. Raul Greetings from La Salangane Hotel and Restobar First of all, I would like to thank you for choosing our accommodation for your stay here in El Nido. In regards of your review, we are so sorry to hear about all the inconvenience that you experienced, but before we let you checked in we explain to you about the changes that will happen in your stay which you do accepted. One is that you need to transfer room after the first night. 2nd, about the noise and smell OUTSIDE our property, we can't really be reliable for it because it's beyond our control and lastly, about the refund, we don't normally make any refund except for special arrangement. our cashier been waiting for you the night before you checked out to give you the cash back, but as they already haven't given back the money to you personally, I emailed you as soon as I can to ask if we can send the money via money transfer due to we have a problem with our internet connection (which I know is not your problem also, but its all over El Nido) and we also send the money the same day you checked out which we send the reference/control number to the number you used which is the hotel that you are staying in Coron. In connection to this matter, we thank you for making the review for us to change whatever is necessary, especially in our service. Again, Thank you for your stay and sorry for the inconvenience.

Went there with two other friends. Originally booked the Bungalows located about 10-15 minutes walk from the center. As one of my friend thought it was too far (even though it was perfect), we asked at the reception if we could get a room downtown: they were so nice to offer us a change without any additional charge. Even better we have got some discount as the room given was cheaper than the bungalows (we did not ask for anything). Talking about the Service, it could not have been better: warm welcoming, 200% smiling every day and super flexible on our requests + helpful whenever we had questions. Food is also very good there: go for breakfast, lunch or dinner and I promise you will not be disappointed. Good value for money! Finally try their homemade rhums but don't abuse of it! Overall: amazing stay for the 3 of us! Advice: for those who prefer quite place, choose the bungalows. Not saying the one downtown are noisy but there are always some nice parties going on so it depends on what you go for. Cheers!
