I don't even know where to start with writing the review of this hotel.
We booked this hotel through Booking.com based on the photos and review.
Once we arrived in the hotel we felt like we were on a private resort.
The service was great and we had a warm welcome by the manager of the hotel.
We were escorted to our bungalow where we had our own private garden with a view of a beautiful mountain.
The garden was bigger than it looked on the picture. The hotel room itself was so creatively decorated and loved the use of all the natural materials.
Our room had a different towel creation every day :).
The bathroom was as if we were on a outdoor island resort.
Our stay duration was only 3 nights (sadly as we would want to stay longer in this amazing place).
We booked our tours at the reception and had an amazing experience doing that.
On the second night we decided to take a massage and they came up to our room to do a couple massage. This was honestly the best massage I ever had.
Every day we could order our breakfast adjusted to whatever we wanted to eat.
It is really close to downtown El Nido but still had the quit and peace that we wanted for our stay.
We enjoyed every bit of our stay here in El Nido and the hotel.
I can really recommend this hotel.

Small but excellent, close to beaches, the port, restaurants and tours. Free water, air con, nice and clean. Ask reception for towels for the beach, tips for where to go or eat, general pricing on everything (triwheelers, tours, shopping from beach vendors). Also book tours, massages and scooters through reception - easy, safe and without hassle. We really enjoyed our stay here in a Mountain View room.

Very friendly and accommodating staff at reception. My partner and I really enjoyed the Filipino breakfast in the garden with the view of the Taraw Cliff in the mornings. Free refillable drinking water. Great location - within walking distance into El Nido town. Our room was clean and we felt safe at the Focus rooms.

The room was a good size. Needing a bit of improvement, maybe a bar fridge and a TV. Bed was comfortable. AC was good. We woke up one morning with no water and it took awhile to get fixed. I raised an issue to the reception about noises coming from the neighbor early in the morning but he told me it was an on going issue. Location is around the residential area. Walking distance to the main town.

Rooms are like jail cells, doors not closing properly, a lot of bugs inside, bad smell, blocked toilet and more to come. We booked for 5 nights, left after 2 nights.
Be aware of a man called Manuel, he will tell you whatever you want to hear, but he's a liar , lied to us on all occasions, same as other guy. TERRIBLE. Do not stay here i you dont want to ruin your holiday. !!!!!!!!!!!!! AVOID

We got Room nr2 and it had a very bad smell of old smoke and mould. I got dizzy within 5min. When we informed the stuff about it they started to spray airfreshner which made the smell all in all even worse. I told them that I have breathing problems and can't stay here. All rooms (4) where booked and they couldn't give us another room. There solution was to leave and double pay another hotel and they would put our room up and if someone else books it, we would get the money back for the days someone else would have it. We weren't happy with that solution as we don't have the money to double pay another hotel for 3 nights! So we had no choice then to stay...the rooms don't have a TV or Kettle. We left the room door open over night otherwise I couldn't have slept at all. We had already so many mosquitos in our room (as the stuff leaves the door open for cleaning that it didnt matter if we have a few more in the room. The next morning we were hopeful to transfer into another hotel ( as we thought maybe someone will book it) as little as we knew ...We had to stay 3 full nights! We were both really tired during out first nightmare night that we decided to come back and have a little nap, but as they are building more rooms they were renovating all day. Resting during the day impossible. We changed to room nr 1 on that day and we went a bit out as we couldn't rest anyway. Mitch the manager told us that our luggage will be in our new room, when we come back ,so we don't have to worry about that. When we came back the receptionist handed us 2 keys and said very rude that we need to move the luggage ourselves. Which was fine to us,as it was next door. But it all shows how little interest the stuff had to help us with anything!

Disliked · There were stains on the bedding and it smelled like old sweat ( at least room nr 2 was clean ), so we complained again the receptionist just said it's all clean and ignored us.after insisting to come with us and we showed her the dirty bedding she was only talking Tagalog to herself ( I guess she was swearing in front of us ) and changed it eventually. However the room still wasn't clean but the bedding , so we could at least sleep. The breakfast was cold every morning and was very basic. We were soooooo happy to leave after 3 hororr nights! If I could I would give this hotel -10 stars. The only positive thing is that Mitch was friendly and professional and even offered us a discounted tour. However it didn't make up with what our stay was there. Unforntualey it didn't feel like holiday at all. We decided to take this hotel due to the amazing reviews and were really excited, but after staying there we think the reviews must be manipulated or fake . This is an honest and genuine review about this hotel. Don't make the same mistake and ruin your precious holiday and time with this hotel!

The safe in the room wasn't working so we hid our extra cash in our luggage. The next day the cash was gone (and the luggage was clearly rummaged). We notified Susan and Mitch about the theft but received no response. The hotel itself is cute but it's not worth the risk of losing your belongings.

Response from Focus E, General Manager at Focus Rooms
Responded Sep 18, 2019
Hello, Mr. Alexey First of all, we would like to thank you, Ms. Sally and her parents for staying with us. In regards of your review, Susan brought to my attention that your safe was not working when you arrived late afternoon. The issue was immediately fixed the next morning before you left for diving. So, it's a real surprise for us that you are bringing up missing money and rummaged luggage when you never informed us about it on your 4 days of stay. We never experience this kind of issues, so if such thing has been brought to our knowledge we would investigate it. Are you sure this happened with us? The security, the comfort and the happiness of our guests are our top priority, and for this reason our staff is checked before leaving everyday. Furthermore, the safe was fixed before you left the room for the first time. So, we really encourage you for the future to leave valuables in the safe and if any troubles happens to inform the reception straight after seeing it, so we/they can investigate. Again, thank you for stay with us in Focus and we are hoping to host you again. - Focus Management

Quiet, centrally located at Corong Coromg (Beach) and a short walk to El Nido central.
The rooms are a good size, nice decor and interesting showers with stones :-)
The rooms are clean, fresh and the staff are super friendly.
The pool is a feature.
Waking up to choir practice from the nearby church was wonderful.
The area has a lot of construction work happening, I hope this is finished soon.

Not only was the shower filthy with mold but we were sleeping on MOLDY PILLOWS. My partner is allergic to mold and had coldlike symptoms and respiratory issues, while I experienced extreme fatigue, dizziness and headaches.
When we discovered the mold as the root of the problem making us sick and the presence of mold in the pillows, we alerted Manu at reception. They agreed to change the bedding (obviously the bare minimum).
Everyone else got free breakfast but we were not entitled to that service due to booking via Airbnb. This made us feel left out and unwelcomed as we weren't even offered a chance to order coffee in the morning. (No kettles in the room).
We weren't offered any compensation for ruining our holiday. The least they could have done is offered us breakfast. However, I'm not sure I would trust any food made in their facilities. Their housekeeping is shocking.
Because they didn't offer us anything to make it up to us, we had no choice but to escalate the matter.
We reported them to Airbnb and Focus still denied us a refund. That is why I am letting all of you know DO NOT WASTE YOUR HOLIDAY HERE. They will make you sick, not care and keep your money. We never even received a formal apology.

Fairly pretty place, great for couples.
Breakfast was good.

Plagued mainly by plumbing issues which could just be a feature of El Nido
- occasional choked drainage pipes (our shower occasionally flooded)
- occasional foul sewage smells from the pipes and outside the room

For the price paid, would think that more can be done to minimise this.

Staff told us it was 200 php by trike to either corong corong or el nido beaches. Not sure why he had to inflate the prices that much. For context both beaches are very walkable.

Overall still had a great time but may look elsewhere next time.
