This resort is located a good 10 minutes walking from the shopping complex at Vanilla beach. Lots of tricycles to get you back and forth (about 150 pesos). A few armed guards here, but also a McDonalds. The beach resort is located end of the beach and you can zip down to the platform across the water from the other side. The sunset view is great with light changing very quickly, which makes for great pictures. The resort itself is ok, sometimes very crowded. The rum and coke was heavy on the coke, with the slightest hint of rum. Food is ok, service is not particularly friendly. The chicken spring rolls were good even if there was no dipping sauce. The vegetable tempura was a thick layer of bread crumbs, not the light tempura you might expect. One of our travel companions ordered the vegetable spring rolls but got the tempura instead. Problem solved very quickly. Chicken curry was apparently very good. People in El Nido should work on their customer service skills, as in general they are not friendly and sometimes even rude. They should remember that with the Corona virus, the Chinese and Koreans have changed their travel plans, reason the more to keep the other tourists happy.

Las Cabanas restaurant offers an enjoyable dining experience earning a solid 4 out of 5. Their generous portion sizes and tasty flavors make for a satisfying meal. Additionally, the welcoming atmosphere next to the beach adds to the overall charm of the restaurant. Definitely recommend it and thank you for your service.

Stumbled upon this place when we walked to the end of the Maremegmeg Beach to watch the sunset.

Had a beer but it was not cold enough, but good enough to get a seat while watching the sunset. Also had their vegetable tempura and spring rolls. Kinda pricey for what it was, they maybe pricing it as those of the better restaurants along the strip.

The con was that while watching the sunset, we could hear the owner shouting at her staff for being incompetent, etc. It went on for the whole 45 minutes we were there. Poor staff.

VERY DISAPPOINTING. We paid $200USD/night (10,800 pesos) for this dump. There is no direct road access to the hotel. After being dropped off at the shopping district, you then have to walk 800metres on the beach to get to the hotel.
When we got to the hotel and checked in we were then informed that there is no running hot water, you have to ask the maid for hot water to be brought to the room in a thermos flask to then you mix in a bucket and pour on yourself when you take a shower.
The wifi is horrible, and phone internet cover is very poor.
The room stunk of very strong disenfectant and some room deodorizer which we couldn’t get rid of (very chemical smell it was vommit inducing).

On the first day we arrived we asked the manager if we could do some laundry, and they obliged. The laundry was wet and smelly when we went to Pick up two days later. They had to redo. We purposefully gave the laundry well in advance of our departure to give them time to dry but when I went to pick the laundry up the day before our departure date, they were wet! Also they likely calculated the cost of the laundry (based on weigh kg) on the wet laundry as well!
They had no milk for my tea at breakfast when I asked they said they “sold out of milk” haha! What a joke.
There was no soap in the room when we arrived, and was never stocked the whole time we where there, and the complimentary shampoo was some cheap bulk buy stuff from the local grocery.
-They didn’t change the towels when we left them on the floor(usually the universal sign that we’d like fresh towels) they just picked them up and hung them over the back of the chair together, which didn’t even allow them to dry properly.
If this place charged maybe $35-50 USD a night I could understand the poor service, poor communication and very poor quality room, but they are charging top dollar and not delivering.
Do yourselves a favour, avoid extreme disappointment and do not book this total rip off place.

I just read other people bad reviews right now which made me angry since this place its pretty much amazing.
What i love about this place is that their conditions are already selecting the kind of customer that wants to enjoy traveling and discovering rather than being a simple pain in the butt tourist.
We had a beach cabana literally 10 meters from the water which was amazing, it's true it has no hot water which you don't really need, it's true that you can't use your hairdryer which you are advised when you book, you dont get aircon but i prefer to have a fan and listen to the sound of waves.
We had sunrises for ourselves only, we had starry nights every night, restaurant is great and food is very good.
Don't expect 5 star services and if you are carrying heavy luggages request them to pick them up by the mcdonald area otherwise you will have to carry them for a good km.
We booked 3 private tours through them for about 9-10k per day and also a private minivan to Puerto Princesa for about 5k

We booked this place via their airbnb website almost 2 months before our trip. 20 days before our trip the host tells us that she can't accommodate us and basically was forcing us to adjust our booking. Turns out she has increased the rates and has made commitments to other guests who would pay a higher rate. Do not trust them with your bookings. They are untrustworthy and do not respect the commitments they make with their guests. She didn't even present us with an alternative.

If you're visiting El Nido make sure you spend time at this wonderful resort. Our accommodation was in El Nido town but we decided to take a day out for some relaxation.

Ensure you speak to the lovely Hazel, who will give you details of an amazing day package, which includes lunch, snacks and dinner. Transfer, Kayaking, Zipline, 30 minute massage are also included for a very reasonable price.
We literally Ziplined into the resort (almost)!

The beach and pool on the beachfront are beautiful and the sunset is not to be missed.
In the evening they lit a beach bonfire which just added to a very romantic dinner setting.

I simply can't recommend Hazel and Las Cabanas Beach Resort enough.

It really was the highlight of our stay in El Nido.

Right on the beachfront with spectacular view of the islands, mountains and sunset. All the staff, the housekeeping, receptionists, restaurant workers gave their best to make their guests comfortable and relaxed. The location is perfect, away from the crowd but still a short walk to transportation hub if you want to go downtown. I got scammed by Don Villanueva, but the resort took a big hit just to honor the obligations made by that scammer and allowed us to stay for 4 nights. 5 Stars for Las Cabanas Beach Las Cabanas Beach Resort

We saw this place in our recent trip to El Nido and decided to rent a kayak. They gave us a kayak but note did not get our names and we had to ask life vest just to be sure. On our way back our kayak got flooded and tipped over mid way back and we were still in deep waters. We were literally holding on to the kayak for dear life. Short of the story, good thing we were able to call our driver to go find a boat to rescue us. When we got back to land the "hotel manager" did not even seem concerned for what happened to us and instead was looking for the other paddle that we lost in the open water. Really HORRIBLE customer service. There are way better places in El Nido with way better caring staff.

Perfect for sunset session, chilling by the beachfront bar, watching the sun goes down with a bottle of cold beer in your hands. Best way to end the day! Make sure to hang out here when you're in El Nido. Definitely worth the try!

Answer from Carter A
Its a great beach, you can do all sorts of things there! the snorkeling is amazing and you can go out as far as you want and explore nearby islands. My wife and I rented a kayak and were out all day, a man paddled up next to us and sold us coconuts. you have to go!

I would not recommend that. The resort is down quite a steep set of stairs and a longish walk along the beach from the road. The resort will arrange transport by tricycle or van wherever you want to go.

Take into account all movement is along the beachline. I took a garden villa since I was out on the water all day anyway. It was specious and nice. Garden villa means you are seperated from the water by 50 meters at the most. Most of the time it's more like 20 meters. The main bar is at the tip of the beach where travelers from all over El Nido will gather to watch the sunset.
