Location is great, views from room 301 were amazing, service was outstanding. Room 301 is the suite on the top floor which can host 4 people, has a separate bedroom with ensuite and an extra awesome bathroom overlooking the bay. View from balcony was wow and sunsets even more wow. Our stay unfortunately coincided with the Covid19 pandemic, which affected the pleasure of our trip. However if it wasn't for the hotel's staff (Jane in particular) who informed us immediately of the closure of Manila airport, we would had been stuck in El Nido for a month. They even organized hot sandwiches to take with us to the plane! It is a cosy little place, a small slice of paradise. The beach in front of the hotel stretches for kilometres and depending on the level of the water you can walk to the famous Las Cabanas beach from the hotel. Breakfast is ala cart and service was top. The breakfast area was so cosy I wanted to stay there all day. If I was to go back to El Nido I would not look for any other hotel. It was the best choice for us. A few comments on the Philippines in general: 1. Nobody we interacted with except the hotels takes credit cards, so make sure you take enough cash with you. 2. If you want to change cash at the exchange houses, make sure you go early in the morning as by the evening they may run out. 3. Make sure you take some of the boat trips. All the beauty of the islands is in the water. They are very cheap compared to other destinations (€30-35 per person including lunch). Totally worth it! 4. If you stay at Frangipani (highly recommended) allow at least one full day to explore the beach underneath. So beautiful! 5. The only thing I missed from breakfast in all hotels I stayed was yogurt. 6. There is a general problem in the Philippines of ants which are so tiny that pass through anything. Do not leave any food lying around in the room. 7. Do not expect pressurized water in the shower as in Europe in El Nido. 8. If you enjoy snorkeling, take your mask and flippers with you. Some tours offer for free, others for rent, others don’t. 9. Nice to have: plastic shoes to walk on rough bottom shallow lagoons, waterproof covers for phones. You can survive without them, but you will enjoy the water tours more if you have them. Both are sold everywhere so you can buy locally. I regretted not buying them from day 1. 10. If you have a sensitive stomach, watch what you eat. I spent a few hours sick on my way from Coron to El Nido. 11. We spent 3 nights in Coron and 4 nights in El Nido. With hindsight I think it was balanced. Possible itinerary for a week: Coron day 1 - hot springs and mountain climb for sunset Coron day 2 - boat tour Coron day 3 - boat tour Day 4 - ferry from Coron to El Nido (3+ hours) and chill on beach El Nido day 5 - boat tour El Nido day 6 - boat tour El Nido day 7 - chill on beach 12. All boat tours are fixed by the government, so you just choose which one and go along. Price is pretty much the same irrespective of where you book. Hotels charge 300-400 pesos extra per person but you get to add it on the bill so you can pay by credit card. Any tour you choose is breathtaking. 13. Getting around is easy. With 50-100 pesos the motorcycle taxis (tuk tuk) can take you anywhere. However it is worth hiring a proper taxi (van) for the airport, no matter how close you are to it.

We had 5 nights at the Frangipani and would happily stay there again. The rooms are modern, well-equipped and super-clean. Each has a 5 Star view of sunset over the bay. And the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Well done Frangipani!

I booked this hotel based on TA reviews and it lived up to all the consistent positive feedback. The day trip to 3 Coconuts was definitely a winner! Island life at its best - private beach, serenity, sumptuous food and attentive staff. Our hotel stay was equally amazing. A minor breakfast glitch did not dampen our spirits. Ariana and her team goes beyond usual hospitality in making your stay memorable. We love the privacy, quiet and peaceful environment this 7 room boutique hotel provides. A must consider when in El Nido! They got an awesome bar with sunset views as well.

Frangipani a small boutique hotel. The staff is very attentive, providing you with a welcome coconut drink, tour and escort to your room. They also will leave you nice little notes and tasty little cakes for turndown service. They provide complimentary bananas and drinking water in your room as well as other boutique mini bar snacks. Upon learning that it was our honeymoon, they offered us either a complimentary couples massage or dinner. They also offer complimentary paddle boards and kayaks; however, compared to the other beaches you will experience, Corong Corong is not going to impress. However, there are nice sunsets. The design is modern. Some may find the design a little spartan, but I liked it. It's also not the most quiet location, with roosters announcing the morning, dogs barking, etc. We certainly overpaid, but we visited during high season and choices were limited. It has a lot of potential. WiFi was incredibly slow. The restaurant dining area set up allows bugs to get in. The food was not anything special, but provides good and large servings of food. I'd recommend the more traditional Filipino dishes, like lapu lapu and mixedd vegetables. As we experienced in the Philippines in general, the hotel staff are very kind and attentive, but struggle with communication in English and although the processes seem to be in place for great service, the execution sometimes is a bit awkward or clunky. I think this is a good pick out of the options available near El Nido town and has a lot of potential!

Even before our arrival the Frangipani Team reached out to us to arrange airport transfer and also to make sure we had everything we needed for the arrival, including assistance with the air disruptions caused by the active volcano a day before our flight. And the from the very first step into our room ... “We are in paradise!” On top of the superb location where every room has a spectacular private sunset view every evening, the hotel’s staff did everything humanely possible to make our stay an unforgettable one. The level of hospitality and attention to detail supersedes by far any 5* hotel we stayed in before. Every day the rooms were cleaned twice, fresh water and towels restocked and we had a little note and cake bites welcoming us back from our adventures and recommending new places to check out. The hotel has kayaks and paddle boards available to you at no extra fee and we made use of those twice, spending a day on the water visiting other beaches and islands. The hotel’s Cala restaurant always dished up local, fresh meals and you could make use of the all-day-breakfast, which came in handy being jet lagged and just wanting to lie in. Another big must for any of my travels is a strong great coffee and oh yes, Frangipani excelled on this one, too. I loved the puristic, elegant decor with soft and earthy hues... as if the room was part of the surrounding jungle :-) Everything else, I managed to capture in images, which say more than a thousand words of mine. I can definitely say that I have never stayed in a more welcoming place before. We will definitely come back to relax, kick back and enjoy that piece of paradise, in style.
