Overall the hotel is clean, the staff is polite. The roof top pool was a highlight! The A/C unit was very loud in our room, and there was no mini fridge. Otherwise, the room was alright. WiFi is only in the reception area on the ground floor. The hotel restaurant service is slow and I recommend not to order wine there. The food was otherwise nice. Breakfast is good and served on the rooftop terrace (where the restaurant is), so the view is great. Finally, the hotel is well located in El Nido, from there you can get to where boat tours leave by foot.
I usually do not like writing a bad review, however when I feel like I'm being scammed I have saysomething. Although the staff was very good, some give wrong info about things in El nido. The room was average. But they kept it clean. When we checked in we had an additional person, 2 queen beds, 3 people in a room. They wanted to charge us for the extra person. That was fine, we paid for him at check in and gave copies of our id's When we checked out, they said we owed $4800 php for him? I asked the manager to come over, because on the receipt it said we paid for him. He checked into it and said we were fine and we could go. We did. I got an email from them that night saying we owed $6000 php for him? A different amount now? We called them and they said oh no it's only 4800? We already paid. I said ok whatever I'll put it on a credit card. He then said do we have friends that could drop off cash there?? We are tourists there. I then said I would take it up with Booking.com and they freaked out on me. So make sure everything is good when you check in and out.…
Hotel best parts are location and view. Pool is on the rooftop. Cuna has two different building, the main building has a elevator but another has no!! We booked 12 rooms. Some of the rooms were in second building. So we went up with elevator then had to use steps in second building. If you plan to book Cuna Hotel be careful for building and check the room square meter. Some of the rooms are tiny. There is no more place to open your luggage :) The other bad side is breakfast. Open buffet but not enough!
Nice location, clean, and amazing beds ! Stunning view in the bar with nice cocktails ! Special thanks to Vicenzo (the best security boy ever) he was the only one to give us some really good recommandation, help us with everything we need !
If I could give this hotel -1 star I would! 1) We booked a airport transfer from airport to hotel when we booked the hotel online. We had previously sent them our flight info and reconfirmed twice closer to date. When we arrived, our pick up was no where to be found. It’s was pouring rain and we didn’t have any means to communicate. So we had to roam, and use our phones to call the hotel. The number provided on our booking confirmation is actually not the hotel number, it is their main booking office in Cebu! So they scrambled to get the info for us, call the hotel and also give us the hotel info. The hotel has no idea about the hotel transfer that we booked. Their main office and hotel front desk are blaming each other for the mistake. Whilst my partner and I waited for 45 mins at the airport, all the passengers in our flight were long gone. 2) When we arrived, the hotel staff tried their best to avoid us because they knew we were furious. They offered no apologies and continue to blame their head office in Cebu for not communicating to them well in advance. When we arrived at the hotel, our room was not ready and we had to wait another 2 hours for check in. The room I booked was 2 twin which they assured can be pushed and converted to a king size bed. I also previously asked for a cake for my BF to be delivered to the room on arrival as it was his bday that day. I was again assured that this can be done. Finally when we go to our rooms, again the beds were not converted to a king size and there was no cake in sight. We called front desk and they send someone right away to fix the bed. The cake we did not get until the next night. At this point I was so disappointed and tired of explaining myself and talking to staff. 3) We were booking our tours via front desk/concierge. The staff we talked to was supposed to let us know which day in the next couple days had the opening to visit the big lagoon as there is a limit of tourist. This staff never got back to us and it was later the we found out that we’re was actually space for the dates we were in El nido but because the staff never informed us, we didn’t get to visit. 4) We did book a island hopping tour via front desk/concierge. We had paid in full the day before the tour and was advised the meet up time at hotel lobby. It was a huge group of us from the hotel doing the same tour. When we got on the boat and the tour guides were counting heads, they realized that there were 2 more people than were supposed to and later we find out that our names were never on the list and the hotel never made our reservation but took our money. So they asked us to leave the boat and wait on the beach to figure this out. As per the tour company this is not the first time this hotel had done this. We waiting an hour and 45 mins until it was settled and the company found another boat for us to take. We were passed to a different tour company and later on we find out that this particular tour they put us on only visited 3 out 6 places we were originally supposed to visit on the original tour and took us to different places instead. When we got back from the hotel, we were offered no apologies and the front desk blamed the staff who helped us with our tour booking because he was “new”. 5) The shower drain was always clogged during our whole stay. Every-time we book a shower the water does go down the drain, instead it accumulates until it’s almost up to my ankles, it also made the bathroom floor wet the whole time. The water is almost going out to the bathroom door each time. The bathroom and room smelled of sewage!! Our view out side our window was barrage, literally! 6) there was no management the whole 4 days we stayed there. All our complaints just bounced off between staff, putting the blame of each other. There was no apologies and accountability. Finally on our last day after checking out, we finally spoke to a female manager. She offered no apologies and blamed the staff for being “new” and “ no experience” She offered to give us “free stay” next time we’re in el nido. And told us to “talk to her” next time we book but was never given any contact info or email confirmation. Nothing was written. The only thing she gave us was a free ride back to the airport. Our whole stay was a nightmare, full of headaches. It was a disaster! Each day brought new issues and problems with no resolution or compensation. I will not stay here again! The only thing good is the view in the top floor. The restaurant is good specially those truffle carbonara pasta but sooooo over priced!!…
I came to stay here after checking out of another hotel in El Nido. The staff were so courteous and helpful. Accommodation very clean and comfortable. Great location as so close to the main town. Rooms were cleaned daily. The only down side of the stay was no “hot water” but yet it was still warm. The staff really made this place worth staying and were wonderful. Thanks for a great stay. If you get the chance. Stay here, you won’t regret it.
Modern hotel with one of the best views in El Nido. Having breakfast at the rooftop restaurant remains in your memory. At the moment of stay, the hotel had some problems with warm water supply however this was being handled on a professional way. Good services, friendly staff, nice infinity pool and diner in front of the famous rocks of El Nido. We know where to stay next time
Hotel has a perfect location in El nido, 1 minute walk to the main street and 5 minutes to the beach where all the tours are taking off. Check in went smooth and staff is very friendly. Level of English might vary by staff, however we always managed to get the right information. We stayed in a standard queen room 416, the room is spacious and has a good airco system. No minibar. Bed is perfect! When we arrived, the hotel had a maintenance issue and was not able to provide hot water. This issue is/was ongoing for 4 days. I genuinely believe you are not able to fix this as a hotel in a day and might need 2 days due to the remote location of El nido. But dear management, putting a note on the desk sorry for the inconvenience does not make it right that your guest still pays for a room with hot water. Your front desk staff where incredible polite with handling complaints and did offer complimentary breakfast for a day for the “inconvenience” which was a nice gesture. 5 stars for your front desk team who handled all those complaints, 1 star for the “senior” management who dealt poorly with the situation. A tip from a guest, next time maybe inform your guest personal, come with a solution if not possible a compensation and follow up afterwards. This is what we call service!…
This hotel must be one of the best in el nido ! It has a heated roof top pool overlooking the bay which was my favourite bit. Also the roof top bar is lovely to eat in, relax in or get a drink. The rooms are spacious and furnished really nicely. Lovely bathroom, nice hot walk in shower. We booked our excursions with the hotel too and also hired a scooter from the lovely Vincent! It is right near all the restaurants and bars. Cannot say one fault!!
We stayed in few places in El Nido but this hotel is the best. Their staff were so friendly and helpful. Their room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great with a lot of varieties at the roof top!
