The worst experience ever! The staff invaded our privacy, there was a sexual harassment and no one helped! The manager was rude and unpleasantness and we were traumatized by this place! Do not go there. Ever!
Good rooms. Secure. The faucet in my room barely drained. The free breakfast was a plus, although basic. It’s a good ~10-15 mins from the town so it was quiet at night. Staff was helpful. Had no problem using third a party website for booking. Friendly staff.
The place is in an accessible location however, their rooms were moody and so are their pillows. Our rooms were leaking as well. The manager offered to change our room but All their rooms smelled of mold. Very bad experience.
Originally reserved this place for 5 nights because we had heard that Corong-Corong was a great place to be, little did we know how expensive it was!! We reserved ahead for a private room with 2 single beds AC and private bath. Upon arrival, they demanded full payment of all nights. We refused and payed 2500php for one night!!! Our room was basically basement level and had a very strong damp odor. Blinds in the window were completely f**ked and didn’t block any of the light. Wifi completely nonexistent except rooftop lounge where it is very very slow. Shower was decent, we had hot water. Flat screen tv in room. Clean linens. Included breakfast was ok. We left because it was way overpriced for what it is and because it is far from El Nido proper.
When we arrived, the owner immediately told me that she sent me an email to discourage me from booking in her hostel because she has a lot of overbooking and that Agoda will remit money to her a month later. Furthermore, she asked for Php1,000 more because my son is 8 years old, as only kids 7 and below are included in the price package. When we had breakfast the following day, we asked what choices do we have and the staff said no other choices but sausage. When Caucasian guests came, there were 3 choices of food for breakfast offered to them.
New hostel with an amazing rooftop. Rooms are clean and staff is very friendly and helpfull. They have a hot shower which is nice after a tour. Wi-Fi is very slow, but there hardly are any hostels on palawan with fast Wi-Fi.
I've read few reviews about Island Hop and the dog is sometimes mentioned and when we stayed there for 2 nights, Charlie (the dog) is indeed waited in the entrance :) Well, this review is about the hotel, not Charlie. So here it goes. Location. It is more than one kilometer from the El Nido port so if you want to have a walk or eat near the beach, you have to hire a tricycle. Rooms. It's very tight. The comfort room is very tight that it's difficult to enter without flexing your body. Free Breakfast. The mini restaurant is located in the rooftop of the building. Typical plated chorizo with egg. Staff and Service. The owner of the place is present most of the time in the reception area which is a bit intimidating and annoying. The friendliness and being hospitable is not genuine. We even witnessed an incident where she moved out confirmed guests out of her hotel to accommodate a larger guests which is very unethical and unprofessional. …
Pros: Friendly, helpful, owners who can arrange tours, bike rentals, transport etc. at a good price. Breakfast included. Cons: WiFi only in lobby and it's extremely slow & keeps dropping. Rooms and bathrooms are very, very small. This can be very inconvenient when you come from the beach and want a nice shower. You need to take a tricycle to town - it's not far but it can be bothersome. Another bothersome thing is that they don't make up the room, empty trash, give fresh towels etc. unless you ask. As soon as you ask, they'll do it but it's annoying to ask.
The owner was very accommodating. They arranged our El Nido tours and gave us the best rates. Also, going back to the hostel after the tour was made easy as the hostel is very near the shore/beach (where the tour starts). We are well provided and taken care of during our stay there. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to El Nido.
I stayed in a private room with my four friends and we loved this place. The staff were so kind and helpful, it felt like we were at home! There was air conditioning in our room and laundry service offered. They also gave us free omelettes and rice every morning which was so nice! You can arrange tours and transportation easily through them as well. Wifi was terrible BUT wifi is terrible everywhere in El Nido, not just this hostel, so I do not hold that against them! Would highly recommend!!
