The cottages are lovely and clean located near the beach. You can totally relax away from el nido and still go for dinner at a nice restaurant just by walking along the beach (takes around 20-30 min to walk to vanilla beach and have to consider the tide!). The breakfast was good, but otherwise we wouldn't recommend eating there - we tried the new year's eve dinner which was overpriced and a normal dinner when we got cold meat and seafood in a vegetarian dish! Also the food didn't come at the same time, so you couldn'r really enjoy eating with your partner. We booked through agoda and they didn't answer any of our emails or calls. The day of our arrival we finally got someone who answered the phone and organised a private transfer from puerto princesa ( around 6500 pesos). They also have a free ride by golf cart from mcdonalds/ vanilla beach to the resort. If you want to go to el nido a tricylce from mcdonals costs 150pesos.…
One of the best places my partner and I have visited. It’s the best place to just get lost in nature. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family. If given the chance, will revisit again in the future.
Dolarog, a true pet-friendly resort! The resort in itself is superb! It’s like a hidden gem of El Nido and the greatest thing about it is it’s truly a pet-friendly haven! What I like about it is that it’s still in the main island but gives off that exclusive feels. We stayed for 8 days in total at the beachfront villa called Lagen which is a few meters from the beach overlooking their jetti way and that awe-inspiring giant limestone directly in front of our villa. Getting to the resort is other via speedboat or their private access road from Vanilla Beach using a golf car. You know that you’ll have an excellent stay when the owner, Mr. Edu picks you up(or sometimes the son) from Vanilla beach for a more personal touch. How hospitable right? He also has a selection of Italian wines from his cellar as he is Italian, I had Chianti btw over dinner with the beach, stars and the moon as our backdrop. Truly magical! The rooms are always kept clean by the staff who are also very friendly. The main Receptionist, Tata is attentive and very pleasant not to mention very informative. I would take her as my head of staff if only I could! She knows her products and knows when to recommend it, the type of staff who is not in your face all the time to promote an offer. I must say she is one of the nicest resort staff I ever come across with. Food is relatively good. Home cooked and unpretentious. As with any advice when you go to a limited supply area such as El Nido, don’t get your expectations too high on having a western dish so much because obviously, you will have some issues so I only ordered I know locally sourced here like seafood or their filipino dishes like the menudo and chicken curry which are my faves! Filipino breakfast is good. You might wanna carry spare powerbanks as the resort rely on their own generator for electric supply. From 6am-9am and 12noon-6pm there is no electric power. Also, TV is not available (not sure abt other rooms though) but who needs a TV anyway? It’s not like you chose to go to El Nido and sit all day on Netflix and stay indoors duh! I rented a motorbike for 500/day basis and this really helped me in exploring or going out of the resort but the resort offers complimentary shuttle via their golf car to Vanilla beach for free but I wanted to leave and come back on my own time. This is also a 20 minutes walk to Maremegmeg beach by beachside access. Tricycle ride cost between 150 going to town from Vanilla beach btw. Overall our experience is a great 4.5/5 with .5 leaving for improvement on the land access before the Dolarog gate. Also, I’m pretty confident even without any advertisement or active social media promotion, the resort will do just good but let me tell when I posted 1 picture of Dolarog on my socmed, people flocked my DM to ask if I was in another country. This is how beautiful the resort is but I hope that with how Millennials pick up on their next destination is mostly through social media, the resort put up an active social media especially on IG. This will surely increase their number of visitors. By the way, my dog Bailey barks that he had the best time of his life in Dolarog! I hope the local government pays more attention to tourism in El Nido. Please install lights on the public areas before getting into the Dolarog property as well as their national highway. We can beat other neighboring countries in terms of tourism if the local government invest on improving roads. We cannot just rely on the natural beauty of the island.…
Located in the middle of nowhere. Nothing to do there. Overpriced. Outdated. No water pressure for shower. Cant dry clothes outside overnight coz of stray dogs & monkeys. Food was so so. Extremely poor wifi or simply no wifi at all. Algae in pool...looks very dirty. Waited for 2 days before they installed a mosquito net. Beach looks nice but you cant have a proper swim coz of too many rocks and corals. The place is dead. There was only 2 other couples when we were there. AND they charge me 300 pesos for a broken glass. 300pesos!!!! I can buy same stupid glass back home for 38 pesos!!!!
We stayed in January in the hotel and was the best hotel we could have chosen- the views are spectacular, it’s quite and you can spend whole day on the beach, hammock or cayacking to other beaches, snorkeling.... If you want a romantic vacation- this is the right place. Dinners are in an European style and very delicious. Staff is great
We spend Christmas and New Year’s there. Beautiful location Food and service are average. Nice staff Electricity only at night Trips Included (island hopping) 20 - 25 min of walk away from las cabanas beach.
The location is very suggestive and romantic. The problem is management. Cleanliness: I stayed at Dolarog for 7 nights and the first three days I was not cleaned the room. Same sheets same towels and on the third day also failed toilet paper. Once asked for explanations we were told that we would have to hand over the keys in the morning to have the room cleaned. Upon our arrival no one had told us about this thing. After clarifying the situation our room has always been clean. Food: very good food cooked daily. In our package was included breakfast with 6 different proposals, too bad that for SEVEN days I asked for mango pancakes and I was always told that the mango was not present. The food prices are good and the price quality is okay. Transportation: The only way to reach the resort is with a free Dolarog boat at times prederiniti from them, but never respected. Or you have to take a walk along the beach of 25 min (1km) which during the day despite the heat is pleasant, but in the evening it is impossible because of the high tide and the dark, the rocks do not help. If you would like to use the boat at extra times the cost is 1200 pesos, which are AUD$45 or 30€. Various problems: although I was aware that the resort was in the middle of nature we considered the presence of insects including in abundance, mosquitoes and ants. One night we happened a mouse in the room and the staff tried to capture him in different ways but with little results until to make us sleep serene, we were moved to another Cottege in the evening. At the end of my stay I can say that I do not recommend the place to families with children, perfect for couples or friends, but with short stays of a maximum of 3/4 nights.…
Looks like beautiful outside , but nothing incredible , expensive for the room and the aminities. No one is here for guive you a good services !! If you want to go in town it’s relly expensive with the boat. They have other place really better !
Hotel only accessible by hotel ran speed boat. If you aren't using this service (which is free until 5pm) then you have to have walked back across the beach (15mins+) before it gets dark. We stayed for 5 nights, we originally booked the cheapest room but this wasn't amazing and air conditioning didn't work. We paid an additional 100GBP to be upgraded to one of the cottages instead which are significantly better. The two girls providing the service in the hotel are lovely and couldn't be faulted. The food was of a good standard but do not expect fine dining. When we stayed there was nobody in the kitchen during the hours of the day. Therefore the only food available in the hotel were the breakfast and dinner options which are included in the price. The hotel runs free island hopping tours to their guests and this was great as it was just the two of us and the boat staff. A great freebie. Hotel has wonderful views from the beach and dock. If you aren't looking to visit el nido and are happy for a quiet stay in the hotel with your own company then this hotel is absolutely perfect. I said I didn't want seafood when arriving and the hotel tailored the set menu's around my preference.…
Dolarog Beach Resort’s location is ideal for those wanting tranquility. It is magical but the over £200 a night is more like extortion to what the hotel has to offer. Everything is basic. Electricity is available only from 6pm to 5am and only 2 hours during the day. No fridge, no hair dryer and the internet is really bad. The towels had its days. The bed mattress are so thin and the bed covers are not enough to keep you warm when the air con is on. The resort hasn’t got a proper reception to welcome guests. The food served is substantial but nothing that would wow you. I hope that those who put this resort on their website should actually check that price per night is appropriate.
