The Resort is on the Tropical Island of Oriental Mindoro, fronting the West Philippine Sea. With the newly built South Luzon Express Way, directly routing to Batangas Port, it's only 2-3 hours by car and ferry boat from Manila International Airport. This resort is one of the most attractive in Puerto Galera with a breathtaking sunset that made the place popular to honeymooners. Situated right on the best beach in Puerto Galera, it's just a step from your room to the crystal clear water and house reef ideal for the snorkelers. It's perfect for weddings and families with children. It has a unique combination of style, location and palm-studded arrangement of dwellings with beach front sea views. The resort has numerous room types from standard rooms through to suites with jacuzzi's and newly completed fully self contained Villa's. Nestled right on the beautiful Aninuan beach you can experience beautiful sunsets in peace while the hustle and bustle of White Beach is hidden around the corner. With the in-house dive centre, modern gym, spa, infinity pool and suites, one can easily say that it is one of the best in Puerto Galera.

The Sunset at Aninuan Beach Resort is without doubt a hidden gem. I cannot rate this resort highly enough. The service from the staff is quite honestly the best I have ever received, just the right balance of being friendly and attentive, without being too much. They bring you towels and water on the beach within a few seconds, refresh the free water often and relocate the parasols to keep you in the shade and the service in the beachside restaurant is excellent.
The food served in the restaurant is very good with a great selection on the menu.
The restaurant area allows you to eat just a few metres away from the waves crashing on the beach, with terrific views of the beach, it is a truly wonderful setting.
The rooms are simple, but very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a four night stay at this location 23-27 Feb 2023, it is without doubt one of our top places to stay for a quiet and relaxing break.

I was looking for somewhere picturesque to relax after a busy week in Manila and Sunset Resort was the place for me.
From assisting me to arrange my road trip and ferry to the island, to ensuring I had all the correct passes to get to the island; plus a warm welcome on arrival it got off to an excellent start. My 2 night stay was wonderful. The room was clean and very comfortable; the dining and lounging area in front of the sea was clean and well attended. Staff were attentive to my every need, sometimes even before I knew i had one! e.g bringing a cushion for my head as I lolled in a hammock or refreshing my drinking water to ensure it was cold. The food was freshly cooked , healthy and tasty. Jackie, Lara and Lez run a tight ship, staff seem happy and I felt well cared for through out my stay. I would definitely return

Junior Suite: Beautiful, spacious room with king bed, balcony, and a huge bath tub for soaking after a snorkel over the reef. Room has small ref, couch, and plenty of room to spread out. Meals are right on the beach, served by a capable staff. Breakfast is eggs with fresh baked bread and fruit. (Other options are available for purchase from menu.) Lunch and dinner options. I liked the chicken Caesar salad. Pool is quiet and clean. Beach is quiet and easy to slip into for a swim. Hotel staff are happy and observant. If you sit in the shade with a book, someone will immediately bring you chilled water. Plenty of spaces to relax on this property. Also, 2 minutes from White Beach shopping and board walk.

This place has very crazy EXORBITANT pricing! as if it's a five star top resort, but it's very very far from it..
The beach is small with concrete platform.. not even white sands..
The building is mostly exposed concrete and rough cement floors & pebble washouts, not even designed properly.
The food is all ala carte for individual servings, which are super high priced for the quality & level of service.
The rooms (again priced like 5-star hotel) but pale in comparison.. no electronic keycards, just single key for 1 room! no extra toiletries, no slippers, tv cable is grainy.. no phones,
I could go on & on, but it won't be enough to describe how disappointed & frustrated we are with this resort..
We have stayed in several top five star hotels & resorts with great pools & views, with the same pricing, or even less costlier but even with top notch buffet international breakfast included!
We will definitely NOT go back to this place!
I'm sure there are other better resorts in Puerto Galera which are worth your money!

Let me start by saying it a great location, the resort itself is really nice and the staff is generally nice too and I will most likely come back.

The Pros:
Beautiful beach front. Really paradise.
Private beach far from the crowds but not too far if you want to go to the commercial white beach it’s about 3-5 minutes by motor.
The rooms are not “shangrila level” but very nice, clean. Nice Balcony. Generally very good. No complaints.

The cons:
I would expect the food in an establishment like this and with the high rates they charge both for the hotel and the restaurant to be “wow”. It was really “ok lang”. Nothing exciting.
When you order dinner it takes about 45 minutes to serve the meal. The bill is not cheap and the food is “just ok”.

When I was checking out they asked for additional 5% charge if I pay with a credit card. Honestly this is not something you would expect from a high class hotel/resort in the year 2023. It shows a “stinginess” of the management that leaves a bad taste
upon checking out.
I’m also a business owner in the Philippines and I would never ask a customer for additional 5% if they pay with a credit card. Not nice.

Lastly, I asked the reception what time does the boat leave to Batangas and she said 1 PM and we should leave at 12 PM. The ferry actually leaves at 2:30 PM and we ended up arriving at 2 hours too early instead of relaxing at the resort.

Nevertheless it was a great weekend and the place is nice. I hope the management reads this (the receptionist would let me talk to the owner/manager) and improved these issues and next time I will happily leave a 5 star.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days, 3 nights and our family had a wonderful time. First of all, the staff are superb, they go over and beyond their duties to make your vacation feel special. They are always friendly, smiling and willing to help. The online booking was very efficient too (shoutout to Lez).

The resort itself has a very relaxing vibe. You get to have your own private beach away from the crowd. However, it’s only 15-min away from White beach so you will have access to the water activities and many food choices.

The rooms we got were family superior in the G/F and it was more than enough for our family. The aircon was soooo cool and that was important in the humid weather.

My only comment is that the food in the resort is a bit pricey, but again you will have other choices if you wish to do so.

Overall, we had a great time and a very pampered vacation here.

I strongly do not reccomend this place.
On the first night we were robbed while eating dinner just a few meters far away from the room.
Interestingly, that time only Staff of the Restort was around. CCTV/monitoring is not working. Absolutely unsafe place.

If You want to spend nice time and feel safety, check around other resorts with similiar standards and the most important working monitoring and safety measures.

The attitude of the owner also leaves much much place to be improve...

Wonderful resort right on the beach, just down from White beach. (I liked their beach much better than white beach. The staff was amazing and took great care to make sure we were happy and taken care of. I would say this is a 3 star hotel. The room itself had very little shelf/cabinet space, especially the bathroom. It was a small room, but right off the beach. The breakfast, which is included, only includes the continental breakfast.

Response from Thomas Zudrell, General Manager at Sunset at Aninuan Beach Resort
Responded Jan 3, 2024
Thanks for the review and the hint what we could improve. The breakfast we think is not only continental as we offer our home baked bread, eggs any style and a selection of fresh fruits or canned fruit juice with this breakfast. And many other options are available for breakfast in our menu. Surely any feedback helps us to improve therefore again thank you.

We had an exceptionally good stay at Sunset at Aninuan Beach Resort, Puerto Galera and we will definitely be coming back here again. We strongly recommend this beautiful place for your next dream beach holiday.

We stayed here for 6 nights and this resort exceeded our expectations. We love how peaceful the environment is. This resort gave us an opportunity to have a break and be away from all noise and activity. Lounging by the beach, swimming in perfectly blue water, relaxing beach walks, captivating sunsets, breakfast outside above the beach… these are just some of the things we enjoyed so much. Every single day of our stay was totally refreshing and as restful as we chose it to be.

It was delightful to experience the warm and thoughtful service from all the staff. They were so attentive and friendly, in a natural, unobtrusive way. I should say that we were very much looked after and spoilt. And the owner Lexy was a wonderful host. I shall miss all of you very much.

So, in summary, this place is a wonderful escape for those seeking peace and rest, with White Beach with its bars and restaurants a short walk away for those wanting a more lively experience. For sure I will be back!
