Me and my son spent 12 Days diving with Tina's. They were very accommodating with our needs as my son is only a Junior open water diver and 11 years old. He was always excited to dive with Jay and his brother who always made his dives interesting. You can see some of our videos on my son's youtube channel - Aquatic Jhonas.
Thanks to all the staff at Tina's and I recommended them highly.

Awesome dive staff. Best hunters of tiny critters that I have ever encountered. ( nearing 2000 dives)

Safe and helpful staff. Equipment carry and rinse.

Communication in English, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog and most likely others.

Coffee and smiles.

Schedules throughout day and evening.

Puerto Galera is a good place to dive.
Tina’s makes it fantastic.

After walking to every dive shop along the bay walk we decided on Tina’s Reef Divers for many reason. 1. Edwin M was a get AOW instructor and it was one on one which I was given the best undivided attention. 2. Reasonably priced and cheaper than most. This is because he has full loads of great divers. 3. Their clientele hangs out after dives and shoot the S**T and was a get crowd to be around. Jay and Libz where get divemasters that made it fun and they pointed out things everyone would miss from Frog fish mating, octopus and seahorses.
4. See you all in Jan 2020. Can’t wait to do my Deep dive and Nitrox specialty dives.

Essentially you just pay for the view.
But the music stops right there, the value for money is really poor.

The rooms are very basic, no toiletries or Tea/Coffee facilities, the TV hangs there but it’s not working.
Even the floor wasn’t cleaned properly, you know that feeling when you walk barefoot for a short while.
Even the toilet seat was broken and it looks like it’s been like that for a while.

The staff at the restaurant were so nice and food was great. Love the place but I can’t recommend the accommodation.

It’s so sad to see the lack of maintenance and overpriced rooms just because you can hear the waves from the balcony.

Tina’s place is actually located on the quiet site of Sabang. After having stayed there 2 years back at the same time of the year, I tried it this time around also as it was nice and convenient to dive and stay at reasonable costs. My goal last time and this time is to go Verde Island for diving.
After the first night my wife and I went diving for the morning dive with my wife and we were planning to take a 2 to 3 dives a day during our stay. After the first dive, I insisted with the Dive Master to confirm that we would have the possibility to go Verde Island. His answer finally was clear, there will be no Verde Island tour and he asked us to go to check other dive centre’s for that trip. So between the first and the second dives, we walked to find another dive centre. We ended up very close to Tina’s at a location called Sabang-inn newly owned by a French underwater photographer and he promised to organise a trip to Verde Island. By talking with him, we found the contact and the feeling more professional and we decided to change dive centre.
When we went to pick our equipment the supposed owner of Tina’s place followed us and asked us to leave the room very aggressively despite the fact that we were planning to stay as announced for 4 nights. Of course this means have our meals etc… at this very same place. A men joined the discussion and even more aggressively told us to take our stuff and go. After many discussions where actually excuses where completely contradictory I understood that they were just offended because we decided to go and dive at another Dive centre. Of course upfront, we never signed up for any package or so but just wanted to be enjoying our holidays like it happened 2 years ago.
I am a professional of services and hospitality and I believe that these people with whom I have been diving 2 years ago and who did not even had a proper boat and engine have now got an arrogant attitude that I have never seem before and that I would have never expected from the nice Philippino people. The people in this country are welcoming, discrete and nice but apart from Tina’s.
I find such an attitude just inacceptable and very unprofessional and they actually lied on a few things. So I would recommend to avoid this place that I have been recommended to a few people since I was there last!

I travel when I can to the Philippines for scuba diving. the diving there is very good and the water is warm. Ive been to Puerto Galera twice now and stayed on

Sabang Beach where there are more dive shops than other beaches in PG. I stayed at Tina's resort and dive shop. it is fairly cheap there. I spent P2000 or about $40/night which is one of the more expensive rooms there. It was a medium size room with AC and a decent shower. TV is always a crap shoot in the Philippines due to poor reception or limited western programming. All the staff including the dive staff are warm and open to fixing any problems. I intend to visit again by the end of this year (2018). The diving offers many places with some unique things to see. the absolute best is Verde Island which costs a little more since it is nearly an hour long boat ride to get there. the sea life is great and one spot (called the 'washing machine') is a place of 2 converging currents, making for a rush of speedy current that's hard to get into. Something for strong swimmers and/or advanced divers.

We had a very comfortable and clean room at Tina's resort overlooking the bay with A/C and WiFi that all worked very well. The food at Tina's restaurant was excellent, the service was friendly and helpful. The diving and dive masters were all professional and friendly. My son and I took an advanced open water course and our diving (and therefore the enjoyment of doing dives) improved immensely - Oman was an excellent instructor. After we completed the course we did a number of fun dives. All the dives sites are a short (5 to 15 minutes) boat ride. The dives were all fun and interesting with lots of marine life. My wife did snorkelling and again the staff were very helpful. The prices are very reasonable. Everything that I have to say is positive and I recommend choosing this family run and friendly place.

One of the cheaper places to stay and the room standards reflect that, but for the price I wouldn't complain as most of the other places were double what this cost. The room was run down, there was a small kitchen attached which needed a good clean but the fridge and gas rings meant you could lower your eating costs. Food in the restaurant was fine, booking with Agoda included breakfast of juice, coffee, bread, egg and half a banana.

Dive centre attached was small and basic but the instructor was friendly. Having a limited number of divers instead of large groups was pleasant. NITROX could be obtained at additional cost but was not offered in-house.

There is much better standard accommodation available but the costs are much higher, this was one of the lowest prices available in PG at the time of booking. If you can double your budget you'll get something nicer.

We can't comment about anything else, but the diving crew is great - proffesional, helpful, and fun. Most importantly - if you are an experienced diver they are very flexible, which makes the whole experience much more fun...

Hope to be back :)

Horrible place to stay with an expensive price! There were cockroaches in the room. The bathroom sink is outside the bathroom and leaking. The door lock is broken and not working. The room smells old and dingy. We only stayed here because we had no other choice, since every other place is fully booked, but we are never coming back! The only thing that made staying here bearable is the restaurant/dining area which is at the beach front. Nevertheless, the food is not special and expensive. My husband pulled out a single long hair strand from his salad - you can only imagine the hygiene standard in this place is non-existent. The staff are very coy with tips! They always manage to give us change for tips! We don't mind tipping, but this is being conned with a smile. They keep an old smelly dog in the dinning area! And they keep a smaller dog that continuously bark and yelp! Look somewhere else - this is not a good place to stay.
