I enjoyed my stay here very much. Norma, Ben, Divine, Nestor and the rest of the team are extremely welcoming and look after me very well whenever I visit. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The bathroom is also very clean and has hot water (perfect after a cold swim by the beach). The food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner is authentically Filipino - especially their adobo and nilaga!

The resort is located at the front of White Beach. Once you step out of the restaurant, your feet will be covered in warm white sand. Beach vendors selling souvenirs, taho, balut, chicharron frequently make their rounds throughout the day. If you wanted to have your hair braided or back massaged, there's plenty of options available too.

The best feature of this resort is its location. The centre of White Beach is lined pubs, bars, karaoke clubs and souvenir shops. Summer Connection is tucked away so nicely that it's away from all the touristy traffic and loud noise, but also perfectly situated for you to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze and summer heat.

I cannot imagine myself staying anywhere else but Summer Connection!

This resort is at the quiet end of White Beach, which I prefer. For the most part, I had the beach to myself. I stayed in one of the Nipa Huts. Spacious with comfortable bed but you'll shower with tabo (small pail) and you can't really watch any TV. Included breakfast is basic, but the bar has a good selection of drinks and food. The small pool is good for wading and keeping cool. Kim as the host is a great asset - friendly, informative, and has great customer service.

The place is very relaxing, clean and peaceful. Nestor (the hotel manager) is kind and very accommodating. He is also very pleasant and easy to talk to. He made sure that he arranged the best tour trip for us. He made our stay delightful and fun. Ate Devine cooked the best breakfasts in the morning to start our day! I would most definitely come back and stay here again and again! Thank you so much!!! ❤️😊

The Room - I stayed in the beachfront nipa. Room was clean with a comfortable firm mattress on the bed. The sliding door that opened to the balcony was very unwieldy and it took me a good solid ten minutes the first time I tried to lock the room. It was such a chore to lock it that sometimes I just closed the curtains in lieu of locking the door if I was just going to hang out nearby.

The toilet and shower is another story. It looked dirty (but may just be old) and had a funky smell when I first arrived. The smell bothered me so much I bought candles from a nearby store to light inside the toilet and try to minimize the smell. The smell was really bad for me that even after I had showered for the night I still felt dirty =(
The next morning I saw a resort attendant cleaning the nearby hut and I asked him to clean the toilet and bath in my hut because it smelled bad. He agreed wholeheartedly with a smile and the state of my toilet improved. But the funky smell sometimes returned. I think it has something to do with the drain pipes.

Food - The only meal I tried in this resort was the free breakfast included in the room rate. Coffee was instant (not brewed). Filipino breakfast I ordered on the first morning was ok. On the second morning I ordered an omelet, I was disappointed to see it was just a couple of scrambled eggs with no filling! So better order the American breakfast next time, at least the scrambled eggs will come with bacon.

Beach Frog Bar - I like this bar because it has good beachfront wooden barstools where you can enjoy a bottle of beer while enjoying the view of the sea. Beer during happy hour is way cheaper than the beers in the other establishments along white beach (Php50 compared to Php70). Plus the fried chicken and fries I ordered as my lunch was really delicious!

All in all it was a good stay. The location was the best along White Beach. But for the rate they charge (Php2,500/night, free breakfast for 2), the elast they can do is improve the toilet and shower facilites. I wold prefer to stay at the newer establishments with cleaner bathrooms for the same price. I wouldn't go back here again unless they renovate their toilet and shower.

Let me start by saying that most of the staff here are top notch. I was prepared to rate them a 4 when I was about to check out then we had an incident. I'll get to that later.

So when I booked my room online there were no Nipa huts available and I booked a deluxe room. One person on this site mentioned that they emailed the resort and their reservation was switched to a Nipa hut. So that's just what I did. I emailed them and within an hour they responded. Only they advised me to contact agoda.com and have it switched. I did contact agoda.com and they in turned contacted the resort to confirm. Within a few hours I was booked in a Nipa hut. Upon arrival we checked in and talked to Kuya Nestor. We told him that we wanted to go island hopping and snorkeling the next day. He arranged it all. It was a great trip!!! So let me get to the incident that changed this rating from 4 to 3 stars. Upon checking out we were tight on time to catch our boat back to Batangas. They said that they would have to inspect the room which was not a problem. The lady comes back and says the remote to the TV is missing. She sends a guy in there and he comes back and says its missing as well. We asked did they check everywhere especially under the bed. They both sad yes. So I walked back to the room and lifted the bed and there was the remote. Now I'm pretty sure they were going to charge me for this remote if it were in fact "lost". I'm not sure if they were trying to get more money from me or both of them were blind and couldn't see the remote under the bed.

So with the room you get free breakfast and to be honest with you it's a really good selection. The breakfast was actually really good. This is where the food goodness ends. One night I ordered a burger and it was pretty terrible. Know I know what you are saying "why order a burger from a place that serves Filipino food?". Well I ordered it because I wanted a burger and it was on the menu. No matter what type of food the menu consists of everything should be good. If not, take it off the menu.

On to the Nipa hut!! The view was outstanding, but the huts can use some updating for sure. At the price of P7600 for 2 nights I expected more. I believe I was in hut 4. It had hot water which is great because I still can't get used to taking cold showers even if it's blazing hot outside.

With a little more consistency in the staff, some better food and updated lodging this place has the potential to be amazing. With that said, I'm not sure if I'd stay there again or not. I'm not totally disappointed, but I'm not really impressed either.

We stayed here for three nights over CNY.

The room we had was very simple, but I am guessing it is the same as all the places along White Beach. There were two double size beds in the room, a small tv and a washroom and that was it, but when you are at such a beautiful place as White beach, you don't need to spend time in the room other than for sleeping.

The bathroom was basic and only had cold water and there was a small terrace where clothes could be dried. We booked through Agoda and breakfast was included, which was generally good, but I got some food poisoning from the longanisa on one occasion as it hadn't been fully cooked through.

The staff are great and very friendly.

The biggest draw though, is of course the beach. It is a stunning stretch of white sand, far superior to that of nearby Sabang and the vibe is far more relaxed, without the mass of prostitution that there is Sabang. It was beautiful; to walk along the beach to the end of White Beach or scramble around some rocks for another kilometre of glorious views and an almost deserted expanse of sand.

White Beach is a strip about 1 km long that has a number of open air restaurants and bars, and several small hotels. Summer Connection is almost at the west end of the beach. It's rooms are clean, and the restaurant serves good food at half the price of those eating places along the boardwalk. Service is good but you will REALLY be off the grid there. The "wifi in public areas" is basically non existent: so spotty that most of the time they cannot even run a credit card (so be prepared to pay cash for everything). Also I didn't see an ATM anywhere there so you have to bring what you need. But for off the grid living it is a nice spot to put up for the nights you are there. The infrastructure is a little run down and the air conditioning units mounted on the walls look to be from the 1980s. But it is good enough.

To start with, I was very reluctant to go to Puerto Galera because of the stories I have heard from friends. I braved the trip and true enough you will be hoarded by hotel tour guides who will ask you if you already have a room from the pier till you land on the shore. I went my own way and scouted for the perfect place to have a drink but away from all the noise, good food and very friendly staff. I found a neat cottage tucked away on the far side of the beach. Quiet. Beautiful sound of the waves and the perfect breeze where you can relax and just read a book. A quiet drink at the bar, Beach Frog, with the friendly British owner, Allan. I met Kuya Ben and Ate Norma who accommodated me like part of their family and spoilt me by guiding me with what to do around the island. If I am to daydream, I will hear the waves and wish that I was back there with my beer and my book. A place that will always be part of my summers.

Nipa Hut No. 6! It was our nipa hut. It's nearest the beach. You can hangout the porch with a drink, maybe seating on the rocking chair, and watch what's happening on the beach from there. :-)
