Very nice. Greeted at port (texting ahead), good food, quiet, nice view, A/C + fan good, nice pool, nice staff,....considering it is Philippines and the rate we paid, it was great compared with our stay in Sabang last year in a different place.

I have stayed here a few times over the past couple of years whilst on diving trips. Sabang Hill is a friendly, comfortable, well appointed hotel situated at the far end of Sabang Beach on the side of the hill. Might not be suitable for those with mobility problems.

A quick phone call, prior to arriving at Sabang Pier on the banka from Batangas, will have the hotel staff waiting for your arrival ready to carry your bags to the hotel, thus avoiding all the touts and 'baggage handlers' that meet every boat.

Good food, clean rooms with fridge, TV, AC, fan etc. staff are attentive, the pool nice, bar and service efficient. Free wifi around the pool, bar area.

Many thanks, hope to be back again......

The people of Oriental Sabang Hill Resort are really friendly and very accommodating! The resort itself is great with amazing view from their rooms, the privacy, the muffled noise from the bars nearby (when we're inside our room, we could not hear Lady Gaga's Bad Romance Hehe!), and not to mention their relaxing and well-ventilated restaurant.
However, their pool is smaller compared to the ones we've been to, just around 12ft-15ft long and 4ft-8ft deep, more or less.. I am not really sure so don't take my word for it. And since you couldn't swim in front of their resort (we have to walk to Big LaLaguna to swim on the beach but you can rent a boat (P300 round trip/P150 one way), pool is significant especially if you're tired of walking. We chose to walk 'cause we also want to canvas a place to dine and buy souvenirs/shirts (which are more expensive than in White Beach). Our Resorts' souvenir corner have small selections but their shirts are great for US/European-sized build.
There is an additional fee for late check out-P100/hour. All you have to do is advice them beforehand. We were toured by a great guy named Charlie, you can ask around about him at the Batangas Pier in the boarding/waiting area - there are also people there to assist you for your hotel/resort if you didn't make any reservations like us! He gave us time to think of our option/s and he didnt pressure us to decide asap, he gave us til 5PM if its a go or not, so he could get his guys time to prepare.. he's very honest and modest, and he made sure that we get the best service.
When we returned at night after some drinks, the reception was aleady close, and it was just around midnight, but you can still get your keys (of course) since the night watch was guarding the place. Our way up to the Resort was dark but short and not creepy scary. We continued drinking outside our room, but we kept our vocals to a minimum. Their fridge was packed with beers, for P50-P55, and with the night sky and the shore view, it was a great way to spend the last night at Sabang!

This place was good but their staff is not accommodating,
1st disaster...we talk to them in a nice way if we could cancel our reservation because in sabang their is no place for you to enjoy the beach you need to go to white beach and before you could go their you need to pay hundreds for the tricycle and for the jeep...we talk to their manager and she say "NO" and you need to pay first the full payment for the room, even though you didn't use anything..."so were is the value for money in that case?"
2nd disaster...early in the morning while we are eating our breakfast we are asking for water and the staff asked back if what kind of water? if bottle or service water?...and the other staff say "we only have a bottle water we don't have service water"...**** what kind of restaurant is that...all the restaurant that we know has a service water...
3rd disaster...while we are preparing to check-out one of their staff asked to go to our room to check if we use anything to their grocery which they put in ever room...pia the checker asked as to pay the grocery which we didn't use and that's the time, we all react...and the staff pia is "bastos" she don't have a respect to there guest...
4th disaster...after we pay all of that because we don't want to argue with them anymore...no one says "Thank You"...
...from their we said to ourself that we will not go back to sabang we will just go directly to white beach...so if I were you don't go to "Oriental Sabang Hill Resort" if you want to have a peaceful vacation...

Arriving exhausted and very hot at the port from our 4 hour bus/boat journey we expected to be greeted and helped from someone at the resort like all the other guests at their respective resorts.. but not us... so we are dripping in sweat wandering around looking for our resort.. after walkign about 1/4 mile dragging our luggage we finally find the alleyway leading to sabang hill and proceed up the equivelant of 4 stories of stairs... ready to pass out finally reaching the lobby the several staff members happily greeted me by name revealing that they knew i was coming... so why they didnt help us at the port? now they practically fight over each other to help me with my luggage for the last 15 yards so they can get a tip.. i refused to let them and was in nearly a tug-of-war over one of them on my luggage. We booked the supreme room which the pictures shows has romantic lighting etc.. those lights were broken in our room. and even one of the electric bedside torches didnt have a cord long enough to reach an outlet... so disappointing on that too.. Price included "free" continental breakfast which was only juice and coffee? anything else was extra !! what a ripoff ! we checked the breakfast menus in the other places and all their continental breakfast were standard fare including eggs, toast etc, but not sabang hill ! so we refused to eat at sabang hill. we left the room a few times for short time and came back to find the tv on and the aircon off ! they watched us and decided on their own when to come and turn our ac off to save them money. so we are roasting all over again starting from scratch trying to cool the room.. the shower produced only a trickle.. super hard to use it with so little water pressure. if you have kids or elders or anybody less than completely healthy in your party then dont book this resort as you could wind up walking the equivelant of 7 stories of stairs to get to your room. overall dissatisfied.. will never go back to that place again. and in case you need wifi it only works in the lounge/lobby.. doesnt work in the room. additinally, the only thing remotely close to a 'fitness' center is the walking up the stairs you will do.

For many that visit the Philippines, Boracay or Palawan are the two main island destinations that tourists go to for sun, sand & diving.

For the locals and those in the know, Puerto Galera is the place to be.
It also boasts white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and epic snorkeling or diving spots.
The difference? The price tag and not being overrun with people.
The Oriental Sabang Hill resort is nestled in the hills of Sabang Island.
A decent walk from the pier.
The rooms are clean and overlooks the bay of Sabang, meaning you can enjoy the view from your balcony.
The staff are friendly, helpful and nothing was too much of an ask.
This place is good value for money, and not just the cost of the accommodation, but the food and drinks also.
The night life in the area is a bit lacking, but the hotel provided a great location for an evening swim with drinks by the pool. The music was provided by the amazing staff who pulled out their guitar and began singing a combination of Filipino songs and modern top 40 radio songs.
In terms of negative feedback, lack of water pressure in the shower would be it.
Other than that, we had a great time.

required a bit of a walk and an uphill climb from the port but we found the messages/quotes on the steps of their stairs really encouraging. haha. the staff were really friendly and allowed us to check-in early to go to the dive shop.

SABANG ORIENTAL HILL RESORT /PUERTO GALERA, fantastic value for money, very close to the water, very good resto, beers wines and American breakfasts, clean rooms, safety deposit boxes in the room, wardrobe for clothes, laundry service, lovely pool area and a pool table where the staff if not busy will give you a game of pool, dive shops right at the front walk way and another resto at beachfront,,The staff were ever so polite, and always ready to help me in anyway.Would I recommend this hotel?? yes definitely would, JUST THE VIEWS FROM MY ROOM WERE SENSATIONAL. for those who don't like stairs, maybe a different hotel might be better, but for me im going again,,,,,cheers

Walk in rate was a little bit more expensive than Agoda. We had a standard room which overlooked the pool area and had a sea view. Room had everything we needed, safe, tv, fridge, aircon/fan and balcony. Room was clean and was serviced everyday. Breakfast was included which was toast/tea/coffee or orange juie and then you paid extra if you wanted egg or bacon. Staff were friendly and helpful when offering advice on things to do. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

It was a total disappointment. Inhospitable staff especially to their Filipino Guests. They seldom smile and they would raise their voice if they disagree with what you want instead of saying nicely that they don't offer such service. They often forget giving utensils when we eat in their restaurants and they act irritated if we ask details of their menu.

The bathroom in our room was dirty. A COCKROACH flew while I was taking a shower. The water from the shower was constantly hot and salty. Plus, it was not running abundantly. The shower curtain fell many times.

Our room's door lock was so unreliable that if someone would punch the door from the outside, it will easily be opened.

The hotel's location was too far from the streets. If you need to buy something from the convenience store you will have to hike for 15 minutes.
