A quick phone call, prior to arriving at Sabang Pier on the banka from Batangas, will have the hotel staff waiting for your arrival ready to carry your bags to the hotel, thus avoiding all the touts and 'baggage handlers' that meet every boat.
Good food, clean rooms with fridge, TV, AC, fan etc. staff are attentive, the pool nice, bar and service efficient. Free wifi around the pool, bar area.
Many thanks, hope to be back again......
However, their pool is smaller compared to the ones we've been to, just around 12ft-15ft long and 4ft-8ft deep, more or less.. I am not really sure so don't take my word for it. And since you couldn't swim in front of their resort (we have to walk to Big LaLaguna to swim on the beach but you can rent a boat (P300 round trip/P150 one way), pool is significant especially if you're tired of walking. We chose to walk 'cause we also want to canvas a place to dine and buy souvenirs/shirts (which are more expensive than in White Beach). Our Resorts' souvenir corner have small selections but their shirts are great for US/European-sized build.
There is an additional fee for late check out-P100/hour. All you have to do is advice them beforehand. We were toured by a great guy named Charlie, you can ask around about him at the Batangas Pier in the boarding/waiting area - there are also people there to assist you for your hotel/resort if you didn't make any reservations like us! He gave us time to think of our option/s and he didnt pressure us to decide asap, he gave us til 5PM if its a go or not, so he could get his guys time to prepare.. he's very honest and modest, and he made sure that we get the best service.
When we returned at night after some drinks, the reception was aleady close, and it was just around midnight, but you can still get your keys (of course) since the night watch was guarding the place. Our way up to the Resort was dark but short and not creepy scary. We continued drinking outside our room, but we kept our vocals to a minimum. Their fridge was packed with beers, for P50-P55, and with the night sky and the shore view, it was a great way to spend the last night at Sabang!
1st disaster...we talk to them in a nice way if we could cancel our reservation because in sabang their is no place for you to enjoy the beach you need to go to white beach and before you could go their you need to pay hundreds for the tricycle and for the jeep...we talk to their manager and she say "NO" and you need to pay first the full payment for the room, even though you didn't use anything..."so were is the value for money in that case?"
2nd disaster...early in the morning while we are eating our breakfast we are asking for water and the staff asked back if what kind of water? if bottle or service water?...and the other staff say "we only have a bottle water we don't have service water"...**** what kind of restaurant is that...all the restaurant that we know has a service water...
3rd disaster...while we are preparing to check-out one of their staff asked to go to our room to check if we use anything to their grocery which they put in ever room...pia the checker asked as to pay the grocery which we didn't use and that's the time, we all react...and the staff pia is "bastos" she don't have a respect to there guest...
4th disaster...after we pay all of that because we don't want to argue with them anymore...no one says "Thank You"...
...from their we said to ourself that we will not go back to sabang we will just go directly to white beach...so if I were you don't go to "Oriental Sabang Hill Resort" if you want to have a peaceful vacation...
For the locals and those in the know, Puerto Galera is the place to be.
It also boasts white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and epic snorkeling or diving spots.
The difference? The price tag and not being overrun with people.
The Oriental Sabang Hill resort is nestled in the hills of Sabang Island.
A decent walk from the pier.
The rooms are clean and overlooks the bay of Sabang, meaning you can enjoy the view from your balcony.
The staff are friendly, helpful and nothing was too much of an ask.
This place is good value for money, and not just the cost of the accommodation, but the food and drinks also.
The night life in the area is a bit lacking, but the hotel provided a great location for an evening swim with drinks by the pool. The music was provided by the amazing staff who pulled out their guitar and began singing a combination of Filipino songs and modern top 40 radio songs.
In terms of negative feedback, lack of water pressure in the shower would be it.
Other than that, we had a great time.
The bathroom in our room was dirty. A COCKROACH flew while I was taking a shower. The water from the shower was constantly hot and salty. Plus, it was not running abundantly. The shower curtain fell many times.
Our room's door lock was so unreliable that if someone would punch the door from the outside, it will easily be opened.
The hotel's location was too far from the streets. If you need to buy something from the convenience store you will have to hike for 15 minutes.
"probably best to request on the top floor as this can be a great advantage for a good seaview"Read full review
