Very affordable and good value for what they can offer. Has its own pool and the place is quiet, away from the noisy beach front especially at night, here you can relax, dip in the pool without the noise in the beach front. They offer food and service going the beach as well. Very courteous staff and easy check-in/check-out process. The room was okay, do not expect a 4-star comfort since you paid a cheap price but I slept well and all your basic needs will be provided.

We booked thru Cocotel. Staff were accommodating. We got stranded at Batangas Port due to a typhoon but they allowed us to rebook without additional fee. The only downside was that the resort was a bit far from the beach esp that we have kids in tow and two senior citizens. Also, the road leading to the beach was flooded. It was just ankle-deep but still, people who have open wounds on feet will need to ride a tricycle. Or maybe look for alternative routes. In our case, we chose to wade thru the muddied waters and just made sure we washed our feet thoroughly.

Over all, it was a nice stay. The room was spacious. It has also a veranda. The staff also allowed us to stay (just at the veranda) while waiting for the vehicle that would fetch us.

The resort is a bit far from the beach, though just around 5mins or so, so it isn’t too much of an issue. It will cost P50 to ride a tricycle to the beach.

Rooms were clean with sufficient water pressure. The place overall was good place to relax, however the rating of 3 came from the fact that the pool was not clean. They did not turn on the filter of the pool in the 3D2N. It was disappointing as we were looking forward to swim when we do not want to go to the beach.

Fortunately, the people were nice and accommodating so that saved their rating a bit.

FYI. We saw a cleaner that filters the large debris in the pool. But that wasn’t enough to really clean the pool.

TL;DR: Place is good but do not book this place for the pool. Place is 5 mins from the beach.

My partner and I stayed here last Jan. 30-31. We were originally planning to stay here on the long weekend, but since we could no longer wait to get to the beach, we made last-minute changes on our plan. We called La Solana the day before we go to Galera to check if they have an available room. We were glad that they responded immediately, gave us a Php500 off on the room rate, and did not ask us to deposit any reservation fees. We had very high expectations on this resort after reading all the positive reviews about it. However, we left the place disappointed.

A guy from La Solana fetched us upon our arrival on the White Beach. He brought us to the resort via tricycle. It was not really a big deal, I think, since all resorts offer this service. When we arrived, the receptionist told us about the house rules and offered us a tour for Php1,200 for two. We were tempted to see the places, sure, but considering the price, it was way expensive for only the two of us, so we declined.

We were brought to one of the rooms near the pool area. The location of the room was great because you can get a good view and background when taking pictures. We then noticed that the lighting of our room was very dim and the air conditioner was like stuck on its fan mode. We traveled for almost 4 hours so we disregarded these things so as not to spoil our weekend. Unfortunately, more things started to happen. During our first night, after eating dinner at Coffee Tale, a cockroach welcomed us back in to our room. We had zero idea how it got there or if it was in the room the whole time. We managed to kill it and decided to leave its remains on the floor so the staff would see it.

Let me cross off the services/amenities listed on their website that they said they offer, and highlight the bad in their facilities:
1. Complimentary drinks - we were not offered anything actually--even a glass of water--for free throughout our stay;
2. "Amaya Restaurant" - all we saw near the front desk were tables and chairs, and they even told us that we could just eat on the restaurants along the beach;
3. "Gushing Fountains" & "waterfall" on the pool - there were none;
4. Karaoke - we asked the staff if we could use it; staff #1 said we could, but we have to insert coins in the machine (which is weird cause if it's part of the amenities then it should be for free), and staff #2 said we couldn't cause it was not working (we had no idea who was telling the truth);
5. Wi-fi connection - it basically sucked. We could not get a connection from the room and we couldn't use it even near the reception area; and,
6. Pool - there were dried leaves floating on the water and when we dipped in, we noticed how yellowish the water was. We do not want to know why it had that color.

The resort's distance from the beach only added fuel to our disappointment. Walking to and from the beach sucked since the street was a little muddy plus there were puddles of water. Asking a staff to bring you to and fetch you from the beachfront was too much of a hassle, too.

Let's not forget the cherry on top of the cake. What we hated the most in this resort was that they tried to make a fool out of their guests. At the beginning, I have mentioned that they offered us a tour worth Php1,200. We were able to avail the very same tour for only Php600 for two from a man named Kuya Benjie. He approached us while we were eating lunch at Terminal. Also, none of the staff informed us that the gate near Sea Jewel closes at night. We informed the tricycle guy of La Solana that we would be out late and even asked him if there were available tricycles in case we get too tipsy to walk all the way back to the resort. He never told us anything helpful. That's why we were so surprised to find a locked gate blocking us on our way back. After drinking Mindorosling, my partner and I did our best to stay sober to ask for directions.

La Solana was the worst resort I have ever been in so far. I think the staff should do their job whether it's the peak season or not. They should not have given us a discounted room in expense of their poor service. I would not go back to this resort nor recommend it.

We extended our weekend vacation for one more day since we were not able to enjoy our stay in this resort. We checked in in White Beach Resort, for it is much closer to the beach.

La Solana Suites is a good place to stay if you're in White Beach. It's clean and comfortable, it also has a pool if you're not in the mood to go to the beach or if you just like to relax. The hotel will pick you from the port and assist you in your luggage. You can also arrange special tours of the island, and the hotel is near the restaurant and bar areas. We had such a great stay at La Solana Suites. You have to try it there too!

The garden area with the pool is beautiful. The pool was super clean a couple of days. Not as clean a couple of days. The ping pong table is warped and not usable but the teenagers liked the pool table. The hallways/balconies in front of all the rooms were constantly swept and kept clean. The small reception/dining area was always really clean. The garden was kept really clean. There is an area for parking. It was about an 8 minute walk to the beach. It was always really quiet. Well, except for the fruit that would fall from the tree all through the night, banging down onto the metal roof. The first night I kept jumping out of bed startled by the loud banging noise. After the first night I rarely woke up to the banging noise as my mind seemed to understand it was just fruit falling from the trees. The WiFi worked really well for 4 of our 6 days. We aren't sure if it quit working because of the storm or because we kept getting a notice saying they needed to pay for their WiFi service? The AC units in our rooms were loud, but worked fine. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were nice. We had some towels that definitely need replacing and other towels that were fine. The staff was very kind and helpful. It was definitely a 3 star resort, but some things felt a little 2 star. It's been years since we stayed in a room without a mini fridge. Even in 2 star hotels, a mini fridge is pretty standard now. They definitely need mini fridges in the rooms. We had a bathroom leak and broken toilet seat, but they fixed it as soon as I told them. They cleaned the rooms really nice every day. Our one main electric outlet was broken and they couldn't fix it for us so they gave us an extension cord to use the outlet under the desk. We booked 4 rooms for 13 people. One room had a TV that was always fuzzy and blurry. Another room had a sink that only gave a small trickle. It's such a cute little hotel. The paint on the building is fresh and bright. Such a pretty garden. Very clean. But could definitely use some maintenance, especially before a holiday season! TV's need to be upgraded. Mini fridges in the rooms. Little things need to be fixed. Those things will help keep it a solid 3 star resort and make it more competitive with resorts in the area. Some of our group left this resort to go down the street to a nicer resort with upgraded TV's and mini fridge in the room. My family was totally content with these rooms, but they should definitely do some things to KEEP it nice. And to be more competitive. The rooms were quite spacious. There were cupboards to put our clothes, but some of the cupboards were missing a shelf. The shower was nice and spacious and had warm water. The American breakfast was all we ate there. It was good, but a bit pricey for the Philippines. Probably because it included American style bacon which is expensive here. My kids enjoyed the cable TV channels. Disney and Discovery, etc.

The ONE MAIN THING this hotel needs to do is change their pillows. I don't mind things like a trickle of water in the sink or an electric outlet that doesn't work. Especially for the price we paid. But I don't care WHAT price I've paid, a LUMPY pillow is NEVER okay. Over our many years of travel we've stayed in some hostels and huts that had better pillows. I've never imagined or seen pillows that were stuffed with lumps of foam. It was SO weird! That was one of the main reasons some people from our group left to find a different hotel. They could NOT sleep with the lumpy pillows. Lucky for me I travel with my pillow. I tried the lumpy pillow for one night just to see and it gave me a headache, as it did some others in our group. I'd rather use a cheap flat pillow than a lumpy pillow. I didn't know that such a thing could even exist. Why would anyone make a pillow like that? It was quite terrible. Yes, I had a huge problem with the pillows. It's unfortunate they bought a whole hotels worth of lumpy pillows. The pillows really really need to be replaced. Before the TV's or mini fridge improvement, PLEASE improve the pillows. No one in their right mind wants a lumpy pillow. Too weird!

We would definitely stay at this place again. And I do recommend it. But bring your own pillows!
