Diving in the Philippines has always been a great experience for us. Marine lufe is abundant, healthy and not scared of people, and people are friendly and helpful in general. But El Galleon certainly sits above other dive resorts for the simple comfort it offers, with very nice rooms, great service and a dive operation that makes you want to come back. Their restaurant is also extremely good, and everything is reasonably priced (one of the reasons why we keep coming back to the Philippines). Dive shop is well furnished and operated, boats are OK for the short rides that take to get to the vast majority of dive sites. We had a great week and will be looking forward to come back here.

I’ve just spent 10 days at El Galleon diving with friends. I can’t say enough positive things about this resort. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned with care. The food is delicious and plentiful. We chose the full board option which made it so convenient to plan meals around dive times. Asia divers is one of the best dive operations I’ve experienced. They have a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. From the first day when we dropped off our dive gear until the last day of diving, our equipment was taken care of, tanks were set up between dives and all we had to do was have fun! The diversity of marine life in Puerto Galera is extraordinary. From thresher sharks to mimic octopuses, we saw so much. Finally, a shout out to Allison who took such good care of us. This resort has it all. Don’t hesitate to plan a dive vacation here.

My brother planned this trip. He wanted his best friend's family and myself to join he and his wife for a diving Christmas vacation. Together, there were 8 of us. Eight travelers coming at a couple different times and several modes of travel to consider. The staff, Allison in particular, made sure we were able to navigate our way from an overnight stay in Manila, to the ferry in Batangas, then on to the resort. There were some complications which Allison quickly took care of and I felt very cared for the entire way. But.....we were there to dive. And dive we did. Complete with a full dive shop, and very professional dive masters and guides, we completed several dives daily. The guides were quick to point out areas that may interest us. Randy went so far as to carefully pick through sea plants looking for microscopic shrimp. We all greatly appreciated all of the dive staff. My every need was met. This is the only dive resort on the beach that has their own dock and I found it helpful not having to slog through the beach. They boast a very organized place to stow your dive gear between dives. Pure perfection! The restaurant staff are also very cognizant of who needs what and are quick to please. The housekeepers kept my room smelling fresh and clean in spite of the wet swimsuits I had hanging around. I wish this place wasn't so far to get to (from Seattle) or I would surely come back next year. Thank you, Alan, and your entire staff for a spectacular vacation. You've got a gem sitting here on the beach.

El Galleon made booking and planning easy, despite the major time difference, by returning all emails within 24 hours and answering all of my questions. The lodge is comfortable with excellent service. Rooms are quite small but the beds are very comfortable. The dive operator, Asia Divers, is exceptional, offering five dives per day. The dive sites are remarkably beautiful with a variety of undersea terrain including reefs that are stunning and in great condition. The dive staff took great care of all divers, caring for our gear between and after diving and offering superb guidance underwater. Rides to the dive sites were typically 5-10 minutes, except to Verde Island which is about 20 minutes and well worth the time and the surcharge. At this time the dollar is strong relative to the peso, so everything comes at great value to the American diver.

I was not sure what to expect on this dive trip, but I was not disappointed at all. From arrival at the resort, we got introduced to the resort facilities and dive schedule. This diving experience and the resort set the standard for what I consider an amazing luxury and dive trip at reasonable price. Asia Divers delivered an organized dive schedule with 5 Dives per day including the night dive. Using Nitrox I managed to enjoy every single dive from 8:00 AM after a lovely breakfast till 6:00 PM night dive. Each dive site had its own beauty and unique creatures. Then came Verdi Island dives and it was a whole new experience with an amazing reef and lush life with trigger fish, anthias and a variety of corals and unique creatures and tiny critters such as pygmy seahorse, mantis shrimp and many others. Tanks and equipment prepared by the dive crew with Nitrox (or air) and we just had to show up and dive. The resort was fun, beautiful atmosphere, exquisite sunrises and sunsets, lush canopy of trees and birds next to the beach. Good rooms that are comfortable and reasonably priced. The food was truly enjoyable. Lovely variety for breakfast and nice collection of coffee flavours and juices. 3 course lunch and 3 course dinner that’s amazing quality. You can’t go wrong with this adventure. I’m definitely going back again!

El Galleon is a gem located in Puerto Gallara, Philippines. This resort also had an amazing Dive program Asia Divers where they can teach very entry level to high level diving. Upon arrival you will hopefully meet Ally who treats like her own the entire team is so attentive and welcoming. There is an onsite restaurant that is open from sunrise to evening hours with a variety of food. They have a very relaxing “living room” area where there is a TV and comfy sectional it creates a place of comfort and connection. They have multiple rooms that are somewhat outdated but all the other amenities make up for that. They even have onsite spa with massages and facials. If you are an English speaking person and want to have more connection this way they had plenty of staff and guests who all spoke English. They also have beach access with their own doc, so if you want to dive or just swim around it is all connected. This is a place worth checking out and for sure diving with as well.

We very much enjoyed our week staying at the El Galleon Dive Resort and diving with Asia Divers. The resort is very nice and our hillside, sea-view room was very comfortable (our room was only about 30 steps up the hillside, some rooms were much further up the hill than ours). The resort staff were extremely friendly and provided excellent service. The dive operation was very well run, and we thoroughly enjoyed our extremely friendly and knowledgeable Dive Master Pete Eaton and boat Captain Francis who took us to some lovely dive sites. When we returned to the resort dock after each dive, Warren (dive operation staff) took special care of both of us, handling our dive gear, weights, and camera equipment both to and from the dive boat!! His help was much appreciated as we are now of a certain (senior) age. Most of the dive sites are fairly close to the resort, so we were able to spend our surface intervals in the restaurant snacking on teas and baked goods between dives. The Point Bar was a favorite hangout for happy hour drinks before dinner. We also enjoyed the sweet women selling beautiful hand-woven baskets on the beach in front of the resort. We couldn't resist their charms or their wares!! All in all, we had a wonderful time!

The best resort in Mindoro to fully enjoy your scuba diving holidays. Asia Divers is located at the most convenient location in Sabang. Great dives and professional & experienced staff. El Galleon offers you comfortable rooms by the pool and a variety of tasty dishes at the restaurant with the best ocean views. Highly recommend it! Will be back again! Thank you!

Food was great, folks were great, diving was great, dive crew were great, dive dock set-up was great, massages were great, prices were spectacular. Room was meh. It was pretty primative (concrete walls and small wall unit as a closet). Also, while I appreciate limited resources and keeping prices down, the bath linnen was sparce (1 shower mat, 2 bath and 2 beach towels only, no hand towels or rags which was problematic with wet gear...no towels to put on ground to absorb drips). Also, a couple of rag rugs at bedside would be nice to keep grit out of bed. That being said, as long as you are OK with primative, this place is a must. We will most likely be back, but will bring or buy extra towels for floor.

Thank you for your positive review. We're delighted you enjoyed our cuisine, diving, and service. We apologize for any room-related inconveniences you encountered and appreciate your feedback on the bath linens and rugs. Regarding towels, our eco-friendly approach aims to cut back on resources. EVERY staff member associated with the resort and "Asia Divers" were just the best. They were all constantly friendly, obliging and very polite. If only all the people on this planet were like them. The resort staff were ensuring that you had all that you required at all times. The food was really nice and plenty of it too. The dive assistants and guides were truly magnificent in making sure everything was seamless. Not once did I have to handle a scuba tank. I've never had such impeccable service when diving. A really nice touch was the handing out of HOT face washers after getting back onto the boat after the dive.
I'd definitely stay there again without hesitation and a BIG "Thank you" to everyone.

El Galleon is where Asia Divers business is, a scuba training and PADI diving certification resort. I am familiar only with the shore diving site where they do the open-water scuba training. All other diving sites are a little further, varies between 20 min to an hour boat ride.
Cannot include links in the response, but search Sabang dive sites or, Puerto Galera dive sites
Hello Paul,
We booked breakfast only, but you can also book 'full board'.
There meals are not very expensive, and there is good choice in as well small menue, as in diner;
You should count on approximately 3 hours to get there from Manilla. Nowadays, they have a good highway, and there is another half hour needed to cross the bay, if the weather is calm.
