We stayed at the Hiwang Native Inn and Viewdeck for 3 nights at the end of October. We stayed in a native hut, which was certainly an experience. The views from the hut were absolutely amazing. The owner was very approachable and nothing was too much trouble. We were able to arrange evening lifts into Banaue town for evening meals and went on so many incredible tours of the area during the day. The only thing I will not miss is the 156 steps leading up to our hut.
My sister and her husband from the US visited and wanted to go to Banaue so I gave them a list of where to stay. This wasn't on my list but they picked this one. The place is secluded and you'll only get there if you drive. The huts were quite interesting as it gives you the feel of being a native but, at night, there are bugs flying around and I had to cover myself with a comforter (which I brought with me). The owners who happen to be a family were very accommodating and friendly but sadly, the food and service wasn't really up to my standards. They need professionals to handle it. The concept that this place offers, which is a native experience and a fantastic view is great, however I felt like wanting to give tips and pointers to the family on how to improve their service and customer experience and how to market this quaint place for a better experience for travellers.…
We spent a nice short stay at Hiwang Native House. The nature and native houses overlooking rice terraces are amazing, such an experience. The owner family were also welcoming and friendly. You need to have a car to be able to reach here comfortably. There is no restaurant closeby so the only option is to purchase from them, it was delicious. Lights aren't many so be very careful if you want to wander around in the dark as you can fall at a height of 2-3 meters. We had time to chat here and there thoroughout our stay. While we were leaving, we could not find the owners thus their daughter helped us checking out. Once the car has departed, I have seen the owner lady literally running towards the car and I naively thought that she wanted to say goodbye. However, her intention to ask for money not knowing that we have already paid and checked out.…
From Manila going to Banaue especially if you gonna stay in Hiwang Native House Inn you need to ready yourself for a long trip. Me and my husband took us 9 hrs using Ohayami bus that is the only the bus liner in Banaue. When we arrived in Hiwang Native Village its around 6 AM. Well the place is nice but beware of other people who would take advantage to you especially if they see your with a foreigner or they see you that you have money. If your planning to see different Terraces it's better to do it on your own aside you save money you avoid those who pretend to be a Tour Guide or make sure that your Tour Guide is really legit and who won't just asked much money to you. Friendly advice don't get your tour guide in Hiwang, we'll it's nice to stay despite of the stairs before you arrived to your nipa hut but the tour guide aren't and when it's 6 in the evening close your lights all the moths will go inside to your nipa hut. 😂😁🌃…
