I had a very great stay. The reception was very nice and polite, room was spacious and amenities were complete. The service were great and clean. They follow COVID19 protocols diligently where they sanitize all the high touch area often and they emptied the room one day before I checked in and the day after I checked out. I guess it shows how committed they are into the protocol. For me, that is the main quality that I will asked during this condition. Thank you for the hospitality and for sure will come back.

Rate was 1.988 K IDR without breakfast, which was oddly affordable (usually it was around 3 to 4 even 5 million)
Room had that trendy gatsby vibe it felt ellegant
They gave us a room that was called- I believe, Toe to toe partition twin bed, which was unique and new for me. Each of us got our own TV, desk, chair, wardrobe, and basically our own privacy.
Parking was widely available during that mid week
Receptionist was fun to talk with
AC work fine, TV channels were great, the quietness was unbeatable. The view was decent. The location was so close to Pacific Place.
The gym was huge but nobody was there. Even the pool was empty.

Did a 1 night staycation on a weekday. Party of 2 adults and 1 young child. Picked an XL room and the bathroom was huge. Unsure if all XL rooms are partitioned similarly as the bedroom area could do with a little extra space more than the bathroom. Very nicely appointed room,everything that you would need for a comfortable stay. No kettle which was swiftly brought to the room upon request. All the staff that we came across was excellent. Plenty of smiles and genuine interest in the guest.
Pool and gym are operating as per normal. Breakfast served in the room still instead of Vong. Breakfast quality's good and easily more than sufficient for the most impt meal of the day. We ordered room service twice from Le Burger and Vong and both were delivered right on requested time.
Just a few issues
1) We ordered burgers and pizzas from Vong and Le Burger. We are still not used to the idea that chili (in the sauce, cut red chili, chili flakes) would be an automatic addition to a cheese burger, fish burger and truffle pizza respectively. I neglected to ask and the staff didn't mention it. No issue for us adults but our young child is sensitive. So remember to ask the servers whether any of the dishes is spicy if you don't want any.
2) Inadequate sound proofing from corridor. While we were in bed, preparing to sleep, we could easily hear doors opening and closing, coming from the rooms on our floor. I thought it would be a one off since there shouldn't a lot of guests on a weekday. However the opening and closing went on consecutively for about 10-15mins. Perhaps there was another family with more than 1 room staying on our floor. The noise was pretty audible. Thankfully it stopped and we fell asleep. Not sure what can be done as the floor is not carpeted. We could even hear the trolley delivering breakfast to the rooms in the morning which is alright. Just during sleeping time it gets a little irritating. So I would think twice about staying there during peak occupancy if you are a noise sensitive person.
3) On the morning of check out, the a/c mysteriously stopped working for about 5 hours until we left when we found out there was a last minute repair work. It would have been nice if the staff had informed the guests when they knew about any repairs.

Regarding the AC, unfortunately the main chilled water pump decided it was time to take a break as well and yes you are correct, a courtesy call would and should have been the correct procedure, again I'm working with our Front Office team to ensure procedures already in place are followed. We have stayed at some Alila hotels in Indonesia, but Alila SCBD was surprised us to see the standard of services: during check in, parking lot, dine in at Vong Kitchen, housekeeping department, even the guest service communication need a lot of improvement if the hotel claim as a 5 star hotel.
Check in: We have to wait for over 30 minutes, as we checked in at 2.45 pm and had to asked twice then, they given us a room that we can use, until our room ready (twin bed). We took the offer, and the key didnt work, until we have to informed reception and took them about 10 minutes to get back to us.
Parking: We stayed here for total of 4 nights, and we have to ask them to open some parking lot near the lobby lift entrance all the time, it might be good idea to give the card for inhouse guest, so they will notice and give the parking lot to inhouse guest.
Vong Kitchen: Great restaurant, great food, lack of services, no one in the restaurant bother to offer dessert / coffee or tea after we finished our main course and they couldnt be bothered to offer another drinks at all, as we stayed there for a while during lunch time.
Housekeeping dept: the room was clean up properly, but you can feel they dont mop the floor for sure, we can feel it very dusty. No signage at the door while they are cleaning up the room (the door room was closed).
Guest service communication dept: never address the guest by the name (normally a 5 star hotel always does) unless Alila SCBD have their own way to respond to the guest and they dont really listen what we asked.

The staff was very helpful, caring and pro active to check my booking the moment I entered the hotel lobby. The reception was also very nice, the check in process was quick as well. When I asked about the bathtub service, he told me that the room that I booked was not included the bathtub. Surprisingly the reception then gave me a room with the bathtub for free, he even gave me a late check out.
I was so tired then I decided to get a massage. I called the massage service and they told me that I can do it in my room. Within 10 minutes the staff arrived in my room, her name is Ita. She is very polite and friendly. She started to gave me the massage and I felt asleep not long after she started. Her massage was strong but gentle at the same time. It was one of the best hotel massage I’ve ever had.
Surely I would love to visit this hotel again.
I was so tired then I decided to get a massage. I called the massage service and they told me that I can do it in my room. Within 10 minutes the staff arrived in my room, her name is Ita. She is very polite and friendly. She started to gave me the massage and I felt asleep not long after she started. Her massage was strong but gentle at the same time. Spent a delightful evening in Hakkasan restaurant on the top floor with two colleagues. Great food and service. Decided to go to the roof terrace for a drink. As drinks arrived I was asked to sign a paper which was not the bill for the drinks (not comfortable being presented with a lot of small print after 11pm). After several discussions, turns out my signature was required to agree a minimum charge. This was definitely not mentioned at the outset of our conversation.
After explaining that I am a resident in the hotel for 3 nights, just spent USD350 on a meal in their restaurant, explained that I felt no need to sign any piece of paper. To my great surprise staff insisted I sign. Sorry I walked out with my two colleagues. Never going back, however nice the food is. In fact this causes me to question the value of the hotel - the major positive for the hotel is the location ....... but there are several nice alternatives :)

Despite they only have 3 types of rooms, almost all rooms on 1 floor have different sizes. If you book xl studio and allocated room ending with #10, it's one of the smalllest room they have and has no work area. This is very strange because even the studio room has work area. The only reason they sell it as a xl studio instead of studio king is because the bathroom has a bath tub. Even if this room is sold as a studio, it didn't even fulfil the standard because all the rooms are advertised equipped with work area.
Appreciate the team allocated me to another room which is one of the biggest room for xl studio. The guest experience manager also came up with a souvenir and card when I check out. However, first impression does matter and it wasn't a good one. It somehow ruins our mood right at the begining of our staycation.

All of our XL Studio rooms, whilst differing in layout & furniture configuration, meet the same overall sqm size required to be categorised as XL Studio. One of the challenges of a hotel design such as Alila SCBD is that each room layout differs due to the building's unique shape. We are currently creating more imagery of all of the rooms in each category for our booking sites so our guests are aware and can highlight their preference. This hotel is totally impressed me. I love the way they designed the room with all facility inside. Simply minimalist with very soft and neutral color tone. I love the idea of putting the long desk side by side with the bed also the bathtub with amazing sunset view. Totally blown my mind! Not to mention those 2 ladies and some gentlemen who were in charge at the reception, you guys did deliver amazing service excellent.

The view from the room is very nice, I stayed at the premium king room for three days, the angle for the room is a bit weird, but I guess it works. It’s a bit too pricey tho.. Definitely need improvement for in-room dining experience. (No table trolley given like other hotels when ordering in-room dining) so it was hard to eat in the room when ordering lots of food from them. In-room dining can be ordered from Vong or Le Burger (but the hotel charged more for the same item).
The amenities is top notch! (They even provide lip balm, mask, bubble bath, etc). Very thoughtful.
Overall it was a decent experience. Not the best but not bad too!

Stayed here for 1 night in November. Less than 24 hours actually. For the price of the rooms, they are extremely basic. No carpet , basic 2 seater sofa. Not sure if it’s common but my shower drain was so slow, enough that it causes the shower to overflow.. I did call housekeeping on it, but after 15 mins it wasn’t worth the wait since I was in such a short trip, easier to just deal with it. Overall the room is clean but nothing special, even the curtains are not electronic which many older hotels in Jakarta have. So im not quite sure why such a premium room price. Also when I checked out, I was attended to right away but it literally took 10 minutes as they type away on their computer. I had no incidental charges, so I am not sure what it is - just have to wait for another printout and final credit card swipe. Also interestingly they take the deposit in USD,. Every other hotel in Jakarta ive stayed, including the Grand Hyatt , takes the deposit in IDR, hence you offset costs on local currency as you settle at the end. Strange system. The lobby area has a trendy vibe and the food areas look to have a great vibe. However if you are there for a short trip, much better options in quality for alot less.
