Good location in Wanchai, near metro and public transportation like buses and trains(they still have that??)

Very nice room, not too small nor big. Neat and clean hotel and very good view from rooms on higher floors.
Breakfast met the expectation and only few options offered that too focused on local cuisine. This area can be improved upon for Western guests.
But, if one need HK nice food for breakfast or lunch or dinner, can always walk around the streets for that.

Nice hotel in central location - between Causeway Bay and Wan Chai. Close to buses / Subway / walking to Times Square.

Room a little smaller / more basic (had a Premier) than expected … but it’s central HK and I’m probably being unfair / still 5*; would stay again

The South Pacific Hotel is in an excellent location for any traveller to Hong Kong. The service is efficient and courteous. We contacted them by email to arrange Hotel Link pick up from the airport and this worked perfectly. The buffet breakfast is extensive, hot and cold (Western and Chinese) and great value.(£8)The view from the Starlight Lounge on the top floor is stunning. The bar has music and snacks and is a great place to wind down after a hectic day. Rooms are not huge but certainly adequate, proper space for suitcases etc.(unlike many tiny rooms in Paris!)Currently they are refurbishing. Even though we had an older room it was spotless with good quality linen and towels. Bath with shower over, again spotless, shower good and plenty of hot water whatever time of day. The hotel location is steps away from a traditional wet market with fascinating meat fish and veg stalls all displaying their day fresh produce with great pride. The street food and culture is amazing - a real insight into the traditional ways of life in the city. There are trams, buses and taxis a couple of blocks along from the hotel and the nearest MTR station is five minutes away at Times Square(Causeway Bay). Getting around with the Octopus card is so so easy. We went all over the territory on buses, ferries, MTR and trams at an average fare of 50p a journey. Collect your card at the airport and hand it in again at the airport when you leave and get any value left on it returned plus your original deposit - brilliant system! Times Square is big new shopping centre with a fantastic food court and supermarket in the basement. If proper restaurant is what you want it also boasts several of those on other floors. An ideal place to stay, we will return.

The room we had was verrry small. You could not swing a mouse let alone a cat. there are larger rooms in the hotel (suites) but they are expensive for what you get. On the good side, the staff were excellent and helpful. The food was more than enough even though we had dinner only once in the dining room. The position of the Hotel in Morrison Hill Road is good as there are bus and tram stops near the hotel. The nearest rail station (underground) is under Times Square shopping centre, about 3 minute walk from hotel. There are some good restaurants nearby, both in Morrison Hill Rd and around the corner, to the right, in Hennessy Rd.
If you eat where the locals eat, you can't go wrong.
The Stanley markets are worth the trip. you can get some good bargains and great food along the waterfront. A walk of about 10 minutes will take you to the bus stop to catch a No. 40 bus to Stanley Markets.
The first thing to do after booking into your hotel (wherever) is go to the nearest rail station and buy an "Octopus ticket" this will allow you to travel on trains, buses, trams and Star ferries without looking for change etc. In fact you can buy these tickets at other places so ask at your Hotel for the nearest.

It was so sad to leave HK. This hotel made me feel at home. The staff were so friendly and everything was clean. My room was so comfortable and had a great view. Everything worked fine though the heater didn't seem to be too efficient. Overall, I loved South Pacific and it's located in the most convenient location for getting around. The tram, subway, buses, etc are so convenient and Central is only a short tram ride away.

The South Pacific has a good central location and is not too far a walk away from the metro. It is also a 5 minute walk away from the Time Square Plaza, which is a huge shopping mall, with everything you need. There are plenty of shops around and a load of restaurants. The rooms in this hotel ARE small, however, if like us you're in HK for a short amount of time (3-4 days) you won't find yourself using the hotel for much more than sleeping and getting ready, for this purpose it was excellent. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Starlight Lounge on the top floor is amazing!! They do great cocktails (some similar to rocket fuel) and you get breathtaking views across Hong Kong island and across the Bay to Kowloon. Compared to the prices we saw for other hotels in central locations, this is a good priced hotel and definitely worth staying at.

I arrived a little after midnight and the front desk staff were very quick to check me in and get me to my room. This may have been the quickest I have ever been checked into a hotel. The staff were always very friendly, quick, and helpful, and the concierge were informative and helpful. The room, as has been mentioned before, is small but sufficient. I enjoyed the hot water pot and tea and coffee. The maid/cleaning service was very thorough and clean. There was some remodeling going on, but it was not too much of a problem. The hotel was very close to a tram stop and a short walk from Times Square, so the location was OK. I stayed here for four nights and I would definitely consider staying in the South Pacific hotel again.

Nice clean well located hotel. I do agree the rooms are a bit on the small side and the bath would be better if it was bigger or a larger shower cubicle instead. But what impressed us was the electric toilet seat - all singing all dancing - last word in comfort!!! we have order one for our house!. I would definately stay here again.

Stayed here with my fiancee for Eight nights. Times Square is about 3 minutes walk with fantastic shopping and the MTR to access all of Hong Kong. Bars, restaurants and lovely little side street outside hotel with fresh seafood chinese local eateries and a daily market that bristles with colour and local tradition.

Rooms: Upgrade to Deluxe overlooking Happy Valley racecourse. Cosy room, clean, very warm feel. Bathroom clean, ok size, modern. Well soundproofed. Mattress felt like a slab of marble my only critizism! Room maids are fantastic.

Amenities: Great little Gymn. Starlight Piano lounge top floor with singers and a bar although I didn`t use it. Two internet terminals a bit pricey but cheap internet just across the road. Great breakfast room, really classy and a restaurant downstairs.

Overall it is a modern hotel, very clean, helpful staff and fantastic position on Hong Kong Island at a reasonable rate.
