I stayed at the Rosewood with my partner on Saturday for my birthday and couldn’t have had a better experience. The room was stunning and the staff were exceptional. One member of staff in particular, Jared, was very welcoming in the Manor Club and took great care of us. The little touches, such as turn down service and a welcome treat made the stay extra special. The pool was great, especially the heated pool. Another note to add here would be the towels. They were amazing! Heavy and soft! We also ate at the Country Kitchen restaurant and one of the staff members gave us personal recommendations and was again, very welcoming. We’re already looking forward to returning.
I live in Beijing and have spoiled myself with a little Christmas staycation. Rosewood made my holidays so special and so delightful. The experience is the right mixture of modern luxury and perfection. Rooms: Spacious, cozy, contemporary Food: Delicious, exquisite, fresh Staff: Welcoming, attentive, nice I‘ve had the chance to access the extraordinary „Manor Club“, which is highly recommended. The generous extras are definitely worth the splurge. Also thumbs up for the restaurant Country Kitchen and the Sense Spa. Thanks to the manager GP for making my stay truly remarkable. I call myself „Rosewood Fan“ from now on.
It takes me a lot to complain, but two bad experiences Ive had since I walked in to Rosewood 2 weeks ago and my most recent on Friday night is enough to warrant this review. Two weeks ago I went to view the venue of where I was to hold my event of 100 people. I was introduced to the F&B Manager and was absolutely offended at his conduct, mannerism and the 'no care attitude' that there isn't much we can do about your event almost to say 'it is what it is!' I informed the Manager Joey of this attitude and was told the case will be reported. Then the last being when I arrived at the hotel for my event on Friday night of which I paid for attended by diplomats to be told by the Lobby Manager 'your event isn't here, you are at the wrong hotel!!" I again lodged this complaint. Despite lodging both complaints at the counter to this day, not one person from hotel has contacted me or followed up despite my many phone calls yesterday and today to get through to the Hotel GM. It had to be me to follow up with the hotel to try and organise a meeting with the GM - again no one has contacted me. I am absolutely disappointed at the management of Rosewood and will not host any more events here!…
I am an old and regular customer of the Rosewood hotel. I stayed 2 nights from 24 to 26 November at first with 2 other friends (in other rooms) to which I had recommended the Rosewood hotel and who were first time customers. I asked the reception to prepare for my check out at 2 pm on the 26th and take down my luggage as I went to eat at the restaurant of the 3rd floor. But they apparently didn't proceed to the check out. At 5pm, as I was in the lobby, I decided to stay one more night in Beijing. I went to the reception, asked for my invoice for the first 2 days which I signed. In the same time, I checked with the front desk manager whether he had another room to offer me than the one I stayed previously, which I was not very satisfied with. He said to me he'd find something for me, and in the same time I made a new reservation on C-trip for one more night. As always, the reservation was cancellable on C-Trip before check in. To my greatest stupefaction, the front desk manager offered me the same room as the last two nights, unless I paid extra money for an upgrade. I was pretty shocked by the answer I got, and I said that in that case I'd like to cancel the reservation I had made a few minutes earlier in front of him. But his answer was, that I could not cancel the reservation anymore, as it had been confirmed by the hotel, while I was at the front desk talking to him, and that i would be charged for a third night if I didn't stay at the hotel, in that room I specifically asked not to be in. I was extremely shocked by what I consider a swindle. I decided to immediately leave the hotel and continue my stay in the Park Hyatt in which I received a better service, a better view and brand new facilities for the same price. I received an email confirming that I had been charged an extra-night, whereas I hadn't even yet checked in or paid, the money being taken illegally, apparenty from the deposit of my previous stay. This was my last time in this outmoded and ageing hotel, which was once one of my favorite hotels and top destination in China, and which I recommended to so many people in the past 6-7 years. Such a disappointment!…
Impeccable service from the hotel. Stayed for a business trip and I received fantastic attention to detail and a very warm and personal service from Ivan, the foreigner guy at the reception, he truly went beyond my expectations assuring everything was perfect during my stay. The lobby bar is very cozy and the cocktails at MEI amazing ...Definitely I will come back !!!
