I stayed here for 5 nights in mid 2016. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The subway was only a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city. The buffet breakfast was great.

Biggest problem for westerner is the lack of English spoken at this property. Trying to get a drink placed onto my room account took an hour of frustration! There are restaurants within the complex but nowhere to wander to in the area.

This place is a total shambles. And like 99% of Beijing, they don't speak English either... My family and I stayed here for 9 nights, a long stay compared to most, so we wanted a relaxing experience. I'll start with the criticisms and why it deserves a 0 rating; We entered

We had a small-group private tour of 3 couples for 3 days and 2 nights on Beijing. When the hotel was listed as Holiday Inn, we were a little concerned, but any concerns were quickly erased when we arrived at the hotel. The service was excellent; the rooms were spacious, light,

The hotel is central, but also not close to much. The moat that surrounds the center of the city is a block away and a nice walking path. There are some restaurants within walking distance, you can ask at the hotel. It is more for business travelers, I think. But the hotel is a full service, there should be someone to help with information. Download Google translation app before you go. Many who do not speak English have apps that translate from Mandarin to English, but not back on their phones.

There are just many restaurants in the area, within walking distance or a short ride (if no traffic :)) by cab or Uber. Could not provide menu, and they are all in Chinese anyway except from 5-star hotels. I would recommend that you get recommendations from the hotel. Once you walk in a restaurant, browse the menu and you will see the pictures of the dishes and price, before being seated. Typically, a medium range restaurant costs around 150-300 RMB (25-50 USD) depending on what you order. Have fun!
