Detailed Reviews
We stayed for 4 nights at this hostel, and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are nice and clean, with air-con, fan, mosquito nets and good beds. Our bath room was outside our room, but private, so not a problem at all. There is a nice roof top, and they serve you a great breakfast for 15 LE with eggs and ham. But the best thing is the service. The staff was always very friendly, spoke good english, and always went the extra mile to help us planning our visits and tours, without pushing their own tours. They even helped us make a teacher card that got us a 50% discount on every temple and museum in the country (and that turned out to be a huge amount of money saved!) They can also arrange airport pick up for a very reasonable price (65 LE or 75 LE at night), which was great for us arriving at 1am at the airport. Overall, a really good value for the price, and a great service. I would absolutely go back!

We stayed there just for 1 night. But their service is excellent. Their package tours were nice and cheap. All the staff are helpful and money minded. Infact i offered a tip to a staff, but he politely refused. Their 10 EGP breakfast is very tasty and plenty.
I got surprised how they could able to do this for cheap. Anyway congrts for their service and im always grateful for their service..Thanks boomerang...

I've been in Egypt now about a week and I was really shocked by the person I met at the desk. He was extremely rude when I checked in--didn't have access to my name or anything to check my booking. Then I went downstairs to ask about tours and he somehow didn't like my questions, got angry with me, and started cursing me out and shouting for ten minutes (using a lot of profanity and saying very bad things)!! I was in tears and had to walk away. I don't know where the owner of this place is, but after traveling in about 30 countries, this is the first time I've had someone cursing at me and shouting when all I wanted was tour information--at a hotel where I was a guest! Beware when booking here!!!

Thank you for your review. I have actually responded to you many times now, however, each time the response has not been published as I am not allowed to say exactly what was done to provoke my staff. Thankfully here at the hotel in reception I have security cameras and was able to view ALL that occurred. I will state to anyone who is reading this, that had incidents occurred as described tourism police would have been involved. However, they were not. I implore all future guests to read the many other reviews from all over the world and note that this kind of conduct does not happen here. If anyone would like to email with regards to this, please do not hesitate. Thanks Mia

We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were really friendly and helpful and gave good advice. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a choice of fan or air conditioning. Boomerang is situated on a quiet street, just a few minutes walk to Luxor Temple and the shops.

Luxor had been a dream destination of mine for a long time but Egypt is not always the easiest place to travel in- especially as an all female group (!). However, the Boomerang hotel was by far the best place we stayed in. It was clean, spitting distance from the station, surrounded by good places to eat and away from all the chaos in the town centre whilst still being in easy walking distance to Luxor temple and the river. The rooftop lounge was lovely to hang out in the evening and the breakfast (£E15) deservingly famous (toast, eggs, omelette, AND pancakes really sets one up for the day!). We all stayed three nights in a triple room, with me staying one night extra night in a dorm to finish sightseeing (triple £E50 each per night).
I also went on a day-trip to Dendera and Abydos temples booked through the hotel which was well worth it. With three other guests, I only paid £E100 for the car for the entire day (about £10 English pounds): far cheaper than other quotes I was offered. True, this did not include a guide but having a pretty good basic knowledge of Ancient Egypt already, I preferred being able to explore the sites at my own leisurely place with guidebook in hand. I certainly was having more fun than the massive groups on tour buses who were being hustled around impatiently.
But by far what made Boomerang stand out above all was the care its owner Omar showed us. He was unfailingly helpful throughout our stay and went above and beyond what most budget hotels offer. He took care of booking trips without being pushy and never seemed to sleep, being available whenever a wee crisis blew up. He offered us hot water to make noodles and tea for free and allowed us to store our bags and even have a shower after we checked out when we returned from sight-seeing. When one of our group felt ill one of the nights he brewed cinnamon tea for her (which did seem to help) and showed genuine concern. By the end of the trip, we'd all decided we wanted to marry him and left me planning my next trip to Egypt. Thanks again Omar!

I had a very comfortable double-aspect twin-balcony room with a small TV and free wifi in the spotlessly clean Boomerang Hotel. B&B with private, if detached, bathroom is an extraordinarily good deal (E£65) and there is a relaxing rooftop bar serving the cheapest Stella beer (E£10) in town. The buffet breakfast too (E£15) is hard to beat: Omelet or pancakes cooked to order, orange squash, yogurts, cereal, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, a selection of white and yellow cheeses, various cold meats, tomatoes, cucumber, white and wholemeal toast, an array of jams, honey and, a selection of teas and coffee. This is probably the best value hotel I have stayed in, high praise indeed.

I would highly a stay at the Boomerang. Clean and friendly and at the price a real bargain. It's one of the best places I've stayed in on my whole six month trip. I would highly recommend a stay here. Also the breakfast buffet is superb.

Since the booking, super easy and super friendly.
They arrange our airport pick up for a reasonable price.
Rooms have good mattresses and pillows, they have a fan an a air con, balcony, night table and closet. Bathrooms are spotless clean always, always always. So if you have a share bathroom you don't have to worry about it. They even give you hand towels, HAND towels! yes in a hostel! hand soap, shower towels of course... we were happy happy, comfy, comfy.
Staff is helpful, happy and available. The breakfast is so, so good, for the price is super complete.
We booked with them a private car and even a sailing the nile thing-i. They where there to advise, help and book.
It's walking distance to Luxor temple and the museum. Right next to the best restaurant we tried in Luxor.
We had to climb plenty of stairs to get to our room, which of course if you're fit and keen no problem, but if you're broken somehow... make sure you let them know.
and blah! I recommend, I would go back.
