Front desk and lobby looked lovely. It was the room layout and design that bothered me. No standard window but geometrically laid out square box windows that looked outside. Secondly, bathroom had a nice bathtub but there is no shower curtain so I ended up having to do a sitting shower so that the floor does not get flooded.
Pros:
-cheap
-brilliant location
-variety of quirky room decors
-fridge gets refilled daily with soft drinks at no charge
Cons:
-tiny rooms
-reception staff do not speak English
-air con light does not switch off, leaving a bright blue light on all night
The only good thing is its location.

*no shower but a rickety bathtub. Impossible to fix the shower head at height. You take the shower on your knees or sitting.
*no shower curtain: the room, already slippery, quickly floods
*no towel dryer: you must use the suspended TV for this purpose.
*no hook.
*no electrical outlet (there is only one in the entire room
*no mixer/mixer
In the room itself:
*a barely adjustable air conditioning that makes a Tupolev noise.
*a single bedside lamp located ..one meter from the bed (practical..)
*a non-adjustable subdued general light.
Everything is in keeping with this so-called hotel which prides itself on modernism.
And again...we refused the first room offered because the bathtub was next to the bed. Yes, yes (see photo)!!
Totally impersonal service

The location is not bad and there are a lot of shops around, so it is convenient, but it is just badly cleaned.
Disposable items used by guests who just stayed
Bags of makeup removal and rubbish are falling to pieces.
I told the front desk I wanted to cancel, but I couldn't. (This can't be helped.)
The front desk staff is also foreign.
He said no matter how many times I warned him, he wouldn't listen.
I was a Japanese-Korean couple who lived in Seoul.
I stayed at various hotels in Seoul,
I really can't make Recommendations.
We experience some incidence; came back to the hotel with a black out at 10pm after exploring all day (no electricity/water) & had to go up 10 flights of stairs. Electricity/water didnt return until 2am the next day. Then our key card did not work the next day, we told the front desk lady who sent a staff to open our room for access. Before we left for the day we checked if our key card was fixed but it wasn't and we told front desk again, who was a bit rude and abruptly told us "i already told you" but didn't really explain anything. The staff took the key, i assumed that meant they would fix it but came back and the key card still did not work. Staff had to unlock our room with their key again + told us the key was expired? so they reset it. No compensation was given for the inconvenience despite us paying an extra night since our flight wasn't until 9pm. The good things: room service, massive TV with Netflix/Disney, staff were overall nice/friendly - they helped us book a taxi and airport shuttle. Overall, I wouldn't recommend.
We stayed in the Designers Atelier Suite #801 and it's exactly as pictured. Huge bed, hot shower, plenty of fresh clean linens and a perfect suite if your trip is about venturing out to take in the experiences or just a cozy stay in. The only down side is the suite was scuffed and showing signs of wear, a fresh coat of paint would work wonders.
The staff was always polite, professional and very helpful with very good English skills and the common areas were spotless and always smelled great!
I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel The Designers and I will stay there again next time I am in Seoul.
"Good for 2 people or family of 3. No capacity to add extra bed. The room is really tiny."Read full review
"Avoid the rooms in the B wing ending in (10) and (09). Those are the ones with the exposed, splashy bathtubs that make no sense."Read full review
