Detailed Reviews
*Accommodating staff/owner - quickly responds to your needs and questions; adjusts accordingly and go an extra mile to accommodate you (The owner even drove us to Seoul station during our last stay at the hotel)
*Convenience & Affordability - the place is located at Myeongdong, famous as one of the shopping spots in Korea and just few minutes away from the subway station. The rates are reasonable and perfect for budget travellers! Basic toiletries are also provided. Common areas such as kitchen, dining room and laundry rooms are also in place. You can move around comfortably as if it is the extension of your home! The rooms are not big but comfortable enough during our stay.
We highly recommend this place if you are the type who looks for an accommodation with a good quality, minimalist yet with reasonable price!

It's close to Myeongdong Station and quiet at night.
The room was clean and had everything you need, and I was sent directions and other information immediately after booking, so I had a comfortable stay without any worries.
They also provide thoughtful services such as luggage storage, weighing scales, and umbrella rentals.
This is a great place to base yourself on for a trip where you'll be having fun all day and night in Seoul.

For a first timer coming into Seoul, we didn't miss those moments of ... where the?!... is this place again?!
We arrived from Incheon International airport and although we could have saved money taking the subway, we agreed that the airport bus was the way to go. Scored! No regrets! Get on it for 15,000KW and it will stop you at Myeongdong station. (approx 80 mins, factoring i reckon the cray traffic of the city)
When you get off the bus, collecting your luggage and like us scrambling for gloves, look no more but to simply cross the pedestrian. (basically you now want to stand exactly opposite from where the airport bus stopped)
Getting to the hostel, you will want to locate Myeongdong Subway station Exit 3 and also a 7-11 at the opposite side of the subway entrance. This tells me you are on the right track.
When you are standing in front of 7-11, you will now see that the road takes you slightly up hill and you want to remember to take left side. As you start walking, you will pass by a cosmetic house on your left where their staff holding on lotion etc, calling you to go into their shop. Bless them for working hard despite the cray cold weather!
As long as you are walking up hill from this shop( sorry i forgot the name of it) you are close enough to Starria. You will continue walking pass by food joints and also the infamouse Twosome coffee house. How to know if you are not lost? If you can see the magestic Namsan tower with your eyes (i hope) 😀
Walk all the way up, Starria Hostel is on your right. Watch out for incoming traffic as the road may be small but a car or taxi can just pop out from somewhere.
Our experience checking into Starria was seamless. Paid the 10,000KW deposit, given the wifi passwords and a list of Do's & Don'ts. Fair enough. If we ain't paying premium, we gotta live with some rules. ha ha ha.
Our room was located on the Fourth Floor, and the main reason I chose it was because it had lift facility. So Yeay! If you are strolling a luggage and not carrying it on your back, then YES to Starria for their lift! ✅
If you are a smoker, the smoking area is on level 2. ✅ It's just a row of chairs with a bin which is actually the 'garage' compound. Decent for a quick puff cause you won't have the luxury since its winter. Don't forget your gloves is what I'd say.
Our room was 2 single beds with a mounted TV on the wall, we have a side table which was convenient to store all our little girly stuff. ✅ Starria provided a nice face mirror so that was convenient.
✅ The toilet was decent, our problem was only the clogged sink but it wasn't like the end of the world kinda problem. No fuss to that.
Although Starria provided towels, We strongly urge that you bring one your own. Just a light big one so you can reach all parts if you know what I mean. I used the towel given as a hair towel to dry. (so u understand why)
✅ Breakfast is served (7am - 9am) daily. There's the DIY egg station so for as long as you feel like fixing up your own, go ahead. Oil, salt & pepper is given to help you play Chef Boyardee. There are 2 type of cereals given, and bread for you to toast. The basic butter and strawberry jam is provided so for variety, bring your own to simply make your breakfast appetising! Hot & Cold water cooler is available so its really easy to make your own. The hostel only provides a bottle water on your arrival so use that to keep refilling throughout your stay.
✅ Luggage care- there's an area near the lift which you can store and weigh your belongings after packing. Incheon airport does not provide a wrapping service therefore best to keep your luggage at its best weight and size as per your flight requirement. I'm guessing if you have access, you may want a box sent back home by courier.
✅ Free Hanbok to try and take photos with. You'll save around 10,000KW since this fantastic place already offers the service. However if you are adventurous and wanna walk around the city wearing the traditional wear, we saw some shops in the subway area that offers rental. Good luck with that!
✅ Last but not the least, there is so much to rave about this place. I love love love it and if at all there's another time I end up in South Korea again, I won't hesitate at all.
I miss you so much already, and Winter ❄️!
Hope this can help anyone out there 😘

I went to seoul by taking budget airline. Which arrive Incheon airport at 9.45pm. Take note that the bus and train service end time. Happen one passenger told me late hour don't have bus service or train after 10pm+. Airport take about 30 mins to check out and then take luggage.
I straight away walk to bus terminal and take bus 6015 which last bus departed at 10.50pm. I was lucky the last four person to alight on the bus, no standing up. Payment cash on the limousine bus is fine. Take about 1 hr+ to reach the last stop, Myeond-dong. Kindly note some bus at airport bus have different last bus timing, thus be careful. Once alight, cross the road see pacific hotel, turn left and walk straight to the slope till see minimart on the right side will see Starria hostel.
Hostel think have staff till 1pm.I arrive around 12pm+, happen lost some time walk the wrong direction. The staff direct me up, show me some direction. I choose this hostel because of good review, the price and one more is this hostel think open by Taiwanese, so see some review, you can talk to them in Chinese. Guess shall be fine thus choose this.
Building is auto light on. Small lift but never meet any traffic, My room was at 3rd floor, single bed. I got abit shocked the size of the bedroom was smallest, about less than four steps to the door, one step to the bathroom. No wearing or shoe in the room.
However stay for there for 5 days, I used to the small area.
The area of the hostel got café, some food shop and mini mart open 24 hours. So no need worry about getting night snack. I pay a deposit of 10000 wons to get a kettle to boil water in my room. Room tv got 100 channels. only some are Chinese and English version. So is pretty ok. Wifi I got problem detect using Xiaomi handphone. Unable to detect, but due to apply simcard so I didn't care for the problem. Hostel got rent wifi egg service, but I didn't take. Sound proof is fine, although got a small window facing the sheet, there is two window. Thus both covered you cant hear much the voice. Plus usually 10am or 11am on the slope up, got school got students going down, thus some voice.
Breakfast is provided at hostel. Toasts, cereals, coffee, butter, self service. Simple. From 7am-9am. I got try once using the washing machine, staff help to do and pack for you in a clean plastic bag, Thus you can go out and come back collect your laundry later. Room service has to be requested before 11am. I didn't request change bedsheet during the stay, except vacuum the room.
Hostel provide EMS service, sell you the box, provided tape and scissor. I send about 5kg with EMS cost me 39000 wons to Singapore.
Staffs are pretty friendly and willing to give advices. Except one or two lack of smiles. I will say at least not rude services.
I enjoy the stay there. You can take escalator down to go mydeong shopping centre opposite the road. There is a few hostel around the same area, happen I walk up the others slope to Seoul tower, just be careful some hostel are even further inside, I was thinking thankful I choose Starria hostel still quite ok to walk.
If I going to Seoul and stay in mydeong station, I will go back to this hostel. Is one place I enjoyed staying and comfortable, safe place.

Starria Hostel located in Myeongdong area. About 10 min walking from Myeongdong station and 5 min walking from Myeongdong bus stop. Around the hostel a lot of restaurant and convinient store. We can also walk to the Myeongdong night market. The hostel itself is clean. We can also try to wear hanbok, traditional korean suit free.

Good - Near myeong dong subway station exit 2 (which was also the meet up for DMZ tour), near ministop and 7/11, look for ON THE GRILL for lunch or dinner as it was cheap and delicious, the location was the best. Unli breakfast for 7am to 9am, Remember your pin number on the main door as it was locked after 12am for security reason. John Lee was very accomodating and he was available in Viber for inquiry and advised. Free korean national custom in the pantry for picture taking,
Bad- the toilet do NOT have bidet which is a Turn off but if you use tissue that this is not a big deal.
I will go back here if they will install a bidet in the toillet.

i had good experience here, the hostel is in very strategic location which is only 3 minutes walk from Myeongdong Station, 5 minutes walk to Myeongdong shopping area and 10 minutes walk to Namsan Cable Car station!
All the staffs were very helpful and we got early check in, there are also free laundry ! what i like also is the dining room, they got water dispenser , coffee machine and microwave! they also provide free breakfast such as egg, cereal and bread.
Even the room size is quite small but they also have heater and free wifi in the room,
so i would recommend starria hostel for the first timer travelers to Seoul with limited budget.

location, can't think of more. Pictures on agoda is not relevant to the actual rooms, only a small narrow bed. towel too small to use for body. Staff looked tired and did not do anything to improve my stay, at least I was allowed to check in early. Do not book unless you are a real backpacker on a very tight budget.

Just like other reviews, the hostel had a strategic location, they serve free breakfast too. If it is your first time in korea and you don't know how to speak with their locals, you better request a copy from the hostel with their address in korean specifically to help the taxi drivers in locating the hostel. This is to avoid what happened to us upon our arrival from the airport, because it was late at night, we had to ride a bus which drops near seoul station instead of myeondong station, from there we had to ride a taxi (with drivers who mostly do not understand english). The 1st taxi we tried do not recognize starria hostel, nor acknowledge the address we are providing based on the email/google map/kakao map (see we tried everything here). Good thing the next taxi had a navigator which translates your voice, we had to say "STARRIA HOSTEL" for five times or even more, before it started to navigate going to our destination. So take time to request a scanned address of the hostel if you plan to ride a taxi going there for the first time. Their reception stays only around 1am or earlier, so make sure you inform them of your arrival time in the hostel. They will send you an email for their instructions and will also leave the room keys in their reception area. Breakfast, all the same everyday for our 5 days and 4 nights of stay, they allow you to cook your own egg, they have bread, butter, berry spread, two types of cereals, juice and coffee in their menu too. Unlike other hostels we've tried, this hostel will charge you for every change of sheets and blankets, don't worry towels are for free if changed but only when they have an available one. Deposits are also required for the room key and adaptor among others. When checking out, they accommodate your luggage in the lobby if you plan to leave them there and pick up when it's your time to go to airport (free of charge). By the way, they have a weighing scale in their lobby, you can use them freely too. And just like any other time, make sure you won't leave anything in your room upon checking out, we left one bottle of lotion in our room and even emailed them that will get them upon our return for our luggage, unfortunately their cleaning lady did not surrender any. Overall it was a good enough stay.

i had enjoyable stay with Starria Hostel. I love the location which close to the subway station. From Incheon or Gimpo Airport, take AREX to Seoul Station, take Line 4 to Myeong-dong Station and go to exit 3. From exit 3, look at your left side, you will see 7E and continue walk to 7E until Pacific Hotel, continue walk on the left till you see Kampungku Restaurant and you will see the signage of Starria Hostel a bit further on your right hand side.
I was staying in room 0405 and found the room a bit small but comfortable. I love the futton and the floor with heating system. I would give 5 Star rating if the bath towel provided is big size and found the bathroom with no lock as well as bit see through.
The receptionist was friendly and helpful, storage luggage is allowed and the wifi signal also was very strong.

Normal size of towel
Yes they do. The small area to keep all the luggages at the 1st floor
For me, the cheapest way is by bus 6015, costing ₩10,000 (not sure if there has changes on cost since we travel on March 2016) Its very convenient if you have many luggage. The bus wil directly stop at Myeongdong Station.
