Detailed Reviews
The Koreana hotel isn't going to win any awards for its tired design, but it is a pleasant hotel in a great location with friendly staff at a very attractive price.
I landed in Seoul late Friday and was picked up from the airport via a pre-arranged hotel car. The travel time was about 50 minutes from the airport to the hotel and I actually arrived just before my friend who had landed an hour earlier and took the train.
You will immediately notice that the hotel is very... traditional. The lobby is almost like a time freeze from yesteryear, but the staff are friendly and speak good enough English for check-in to be efficient and painless for a Westerner.
The rooms are fairly small and share the same dated look as the rest of the hotel. The bed is comfy enough but be careful about the power outlets not charging your devices! This hotel really isn't the usual type I would stay in but it has a certain charm to it that is difficult to explain. I had access to the lounge area which served very basic food, but was good to grab a quick snack and wait for my friends to get ready to head out.
The location seemed to be pretty good, there are quiet streets over the road that one can grab a beer at. The subway station is about a 10 minute walk at most and it was relatively easy to flag down a taxi.
I only stayed two nights, but i left feeling the hotel was good value. If you are looking for a luxury hotel in Seoul then this is far from it. But if you are looking for a clean and cheap hotel that goes well above and beyond its price band then you can't go much wrong.

I have stayed a couple of times at the Koreana, a hotel that is nicely located in Seoul. From there, one can conveniently get anywhere in town within a decent amount of time.
The rooms are comfortable and clean. The only negative point consists in the temperature control system that needs to be fixed to give more freedom to the room user. The dedicated working space allows for an efficient working time, with a pretty reliable WiFi connection.
I had the chance to benefit from the lounge that offers refreshments and snacks, as well as a couple of wines, and space to work with a nice view on Seoul. The breakfast is also correct, without being exceptional. Moreover, the staff is nice and professional, and this holds actually both for the lobby and the lounge.
All in all, the hotel is OK, but a little bit pricey. One can find similar, and even better, options for a cheaper price around.

My family of four stayed here during our trip to Seoul, Korea. The hotel was a bit dated, but has a classic elegance to it. Our family room had four single beds, but did not allow much space for opening suitcases. The room had comfy beds, a minifridge, TV (with English channels), a bathtub, a desk and dark out curtains to shield the 4 a.m. sun! During the online booking, I thought I added breakfast for the entire stay but it ended up only for 1 morning, which costs $16 a person. The breakfast was great with many options, but I would not say that my kids ate $16 worth of food to justify the cost. There is a convenience store right next to the hotel for early morning and late night snacks. There is a gym in the hotel (which closes at 7 p.m.), but no pool or other activity for children. The hotel is a three minute walk from City Hall Station, and within walking distance to Bukchon Hanok Village and Gyeongbokgung Palace. We ended up taking the KT Limo Bus to Incheon Airport for an early morning flight. The first bus picks up at 5:07 a.m. and costs 18,000 KRW for adults and 12,000 KRW for children, although the driver tried to charge us more. The bus is first come, first serve and you pay the driver directly - no reservation needed. Other than that, the limo bus was a very stress free and inexpensive option.

The hotel was cozy and room service was great & accommodating. They provided slippers, water (although the water in the sink is safe for drinking), daily cleaning, fresh towels and much more. They even let us borrow umbrellas when it was raining one day. Plus, it was in the middle of all the places we wanted to visit. I can even see the Seoul tower from our window.

It is near city hall station entrance but need to walk a distance underground to reach the gantry. The hotel is clean with daily housekeeping. In winter time hotel is centralised heating system so no aircon, small vent to allow air flow from external. If too stuff can request for standing fan. The furniture's are old and with scratches and timber peel. Should upgrade the furniture. The headboard and sofa should consider changing to PVC or leather. Fabric trapped dust and not hygienic. Overall, consider good. Direct bus from airport terminal. The bus captain will help.to load luggage to the bus and also help to unload. Fast and comfortable 70mins journey. If no traffic jam, faster than 70mins. Able to enjoy sight seeing. Cons of the hotel is Sat will have protest event which will block the main road.

The main pro is the unbeatable location. The airport limousine from Incheon is 30 seconds away, 400m away there is an metro station which takes you directly to Gimpo Airport.
The main palace is just at the end of the street ( around a Km from the hotel) and I could go on and on.
The reception staff are nice enough ( I mean this is Korea, don’t have great expectations) and the common areas are well looked after.
The room was clean, and the ammenities and having slippers and a bathrobe was a nice touch.
The only con is that my room was dated and it was clear from entering that it could use some updating.

The hotel is located near City Hall Station (an interchange of Line 1 and Line 2) and Gwanghwamun Station. There are plenty of shops at the underground malls around the stations.
However, the hotel interiors are quite outdated, although are still well-maintained and functional (except for the small safety box in the room). The hotel was able to accommodate my request to keep some of our luggages for a few days after check-out, so we did not have to bring extra baggages to our short trip to Busan.

Tis hotel is near to the seoul city centre. U can walk or take the bus to myeonhdong..korea's idealic place for tourist to do shopping and for authentic korean food. The room was comfortable and food can be ordered according to the menu. During our trip it was after winter and was in the mid of spring. Could see those beautiful flowers blooming out giving nice smells.

Over rated hotel, can not understand how this out dated hotel receive such I high rating as it has
The room that I had was small and outdated. Dirty and stained carpet ,small end worn our towels
Amenities of a two star hotel…
Must say that bed was comfy and that the hotel is very well located..
Not enough tv channels for a non resident and none of the well known overseas English news stations
Bath room very dark and has a tub that is very difficult to get in and out of..
Overall. A reasonable 2 star hotel
Must say that the hotel is not expensive, so if you are Looking for a nights sleep, I would recommend, otherwise.., look for a better option

A very convenient location to all the tourist attractions. The unfortunate thing(which I think the hotel already knows) is that the rooms are in dire need of a remodel. The bathrooms don't have a proper ledge to hold all the shampoo/conditioner/body wash, the water leaks out of the shower stall, and the hair dryer was breaking apart. Also the toilet keeps sounding like it's constantly refilling (maybe filling water for the bidet?).
The staff is extremely nice and courteous, which makes the stay quite wonderful though. Hopefully with a renovation this hotel would be top notch!

I stored it with no problem on the same day, and there were no charges.
Yes it was off in September, when we last visited. They do, however, provide fans, but they could not cope with the heat of the day.
I would recommend just booking the cheapest room you can and enjoy everything that's outside and around the area.
As for getting to and from the airport there's a Korean Airlines bus system that is fantastic and only $15 one-way. Koreana Hotel is the first stop from the airport and the last stop to the airport.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else!
When I stayed there I thought the room and hotel’s common areas were spotlessly pristine. It’s obviously had touch-ups and been well maintained over the years. You might feel the age of the hotel from its style, rather than its conditions. The bedding and room furnishing all felt quite new to me.
