Location - good it’s near cheongdam Hotel lobby - it’s weird… it’s in a car park basement/ office building feels like your going to work. Hotel deco - they spent a lot of money in the renovation lots of marble which I love…. Everything else not so much, awkward layout doors don’t open fully, carpet floors which are going to look old quick. Staff - not the most welcoming staff, tried to speak with them but they’re not interested in engaging with customers forget trying to speak to the GM he is too important to speak to guest. Gym & pool - was the best thing out of the hotel but to be honest most Korean hotels have a good gym and good pool so don’t let this be your selling point. Food & beverage - it was ok…. I thought it was going to be 5 stars from all the reviews but honestly it was fine no wow factor. Overall, so many hotels have stepped up their quality I would look else where before booking this place. **Warning watch out for the dry cleaning, they ruined my brand new shirt, because it was linen they were to rough with the fabric and it ripped**

My friends and I decided to splurge on a few nights at Josun Palace and it was worth every cent. The hotel is stunning - from the design to the interiors, and the service. Every staff member was very considerate and polite, and almost all of them spoke fluent English. The concierge was extremely helpful in helping us book taxis, and the buffet breakfast was exceptional! it's quite pricey (from memory 77,000 KRW) however we had a members deal so it was included. We felt at ease travelling during Covid due to the cleanliness and mask-wearing rules around the hotel. We made some great memories during our stay and I would highly recommend!

Suite Weekend - Josun Palace, a Luxury Collection * Important Notice on Sauna, 1914 Lounge and Constans Breakfast * Room guests for Grand Masters or Suites through the Marriott’s upgrade-benefit for Platinum elite (or higher) can NOT be offered with these services any longer. (But free access on Fitness and Pool remains same) That means, free access on Sauna and 1914 Lounge along with Canape+Wine service is provided only for those who make a reservation using the Suite Night Award or paying the Grand Masters or Suite Room Rates. Breakfast in Constans also, it is not complimentary benefits any longer but the choice of welcome amenity. Those who choose 1000 points, the continental breakfast service is provided from the Grand Reception. 1-4. General info on the property, dining and other room types & Suites: 5. Masters Jr. Suite (18 rooms, 63 sqm): There are 2 types that can be chosen; Studio room type with a good open feeling and separated room type with privacy. This time stay is separated room type whose living room is separated by privacy wall. The studio type can be referred to: 6. Platinum elite or higher: Enhanced room upgrade to the best available room (including select Suite) subject to availability. Breakfast in Constans (Buffet) or 1000 point per stay (in latter case, the free continental breakfast in Grand Reception) 7. Dining 24F: Constans,1914 Lounge & Bar 25F: Grand Reception 36F: The Great Hong Yuan (Chinese), Eatanic Garden (contemporary Korean : closed on Monday) <Features> Hardware: Separated room typed Suite is a room with a good structure and also with Samsung Air Dresser, Bespoke Cube Air (Air Cleaner) which are helpful for comfortable stay. I also like the separate toilet room for privacy and the separate spacious shower room. The fantastic outview over Skyline makes every room as a Photo Point, so called 뷰맛집 (a famous view restaurant) In the elevator, the function of automatic access to my room floor by scanning room key will be needed asap, without necessity for pressing my floor. Software: It is unfortunate that benefits for elite members have decreased. Nevertheless, I feel this hotel as one of the best properties in Korea because of excellent top notch service with kindness, professionalism and customized attentiveness. Special thanks to Mr. Erick Yoo, Duty Manager and I really enjoy the stay in your esteemed property.

My husband and I, along with another couple (close friends), stayed at the Josun Palace for 5 nights in early October as part of a week-long vacation in South Korea. We are Americans and the Josun Palace is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in -- better than any Four Seasons, St. Regis, etc. -- thanks to the combination of the beauty of the hotel itself (gorgeous facilities, spotless and super modern rooms, excellent lounges & restaurants, etc.) and the outstanding staff. The decor of the hotel has a sort of glitzy art deco feel, which is very fun, everything is spotless and new, and a whole series of little touches makes the room experience feel extra special (separate (very fancy) toilet room, automatic shades and lights, etc.). The breakfast buffet is outstanding, the lounges are a lovely place to get a drink and take in the view, the pool is gorgeous and the spa area is worth paying for at least once. The hotel's location is convenient to most of the areas you are likely to visit as a tourist (either by subway or taxi), and the high floors make the views great. The only small negative for me is that you have to take two elevators to get to your room -- like the Mandarin in NYC and some other hotels -- which just adds a few minutes to the process of coming/going. But really what makes this hotel special is the staff -- as non-Korean speakers who wanted to experience so many things in Seoul, we relied heavily on the concierge team before and during our stay to help us with reservations and general navigation, and on the lovely set of gentlemen manning the hotel entryway to book taxis to all sorts of places. In so many instances, the staff went above and beyond -- helping us buy tickets to a baseball game, hand-delivering instructions on how to access the Namsan Tower hike, convincing a restaurant to give us a last-minute dinner reservation when ours fell through, and so many more things...Without the hotel staff's help, our trip would have been substantially more stressful, and this is basically priceless. Edwin, Sophia, Sally, and the entire concierge team, as well as Tommy and all the gentlemen at the front door -- thank you so much!!!

As far as I know this is the most expensive/luxurious Marriott property in Korea. Unfortunately that didn’t mean that the hotel was best. Pros: 1. Received complimentary Titanium upgrade to a really great looking room even on a reward stay. 2. Property is pretty new and shiny, good amenities, although some were under construction. Cons: 1. Received no reception at the ground level reception area, which meant no one told us that the lobby is on the 25th floor by the name of “Grand Reception”. We had to back track and flag down a staff to figure this out. 2. An employee decided to cut in line and rush into the elevator before us. Well a group of us since she cut off everyone. 3. Requested house keeping around 10 AM on the way out. House keeping wasn’t done until after 3 PM, preventing us jet lagged couple to get some rest right away. Not sure where to go, so went to “Grand reception” so that we can sit somewhere. 4. One staff at the reception told us that she checked the status for the room and that it will tike about 40 minutes to finish house keeping. She checked in with us at 20 minute mark and told us that she will be back in another 20 min to check on the house keeping status again. No one came to us after over 30 minutes so we talked to someone else to see if the room was ready. Different staff tried to dismiss us saying that it’s been only 20 minutes since we requested house keeping when it takes around 40 min. We explained that we request it in the morning. She told us that since house keeping is done in order we must have requested it too late. Overall very odd interaction from a high end hotel. 5. There is no blackout curtain, just a general one which lets light in from all edges. All in all very disappointing experience for a luxury collection property. We won’t be returning since there are plenty of Marriott properties in Korea which offer better value and service.

Check-in was a breeze, and staff were warm, accommodating, and helpful. I asked for restaurant recommendations, and one of them even sat down with me with a map, and showed various options and what the different restaurants served. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, impeccably clean, and had all your creature comforts - even a Samsung AirDresser. The bathroom is also roomy, tastefully done, and had one of those smart toilets. Even the lighting in the bathroom would put one in a relaxed mood. The beds are perfect for getting a good night’s rest, and TV is much larger than usual. I didn’t mind just spending an evening in, relaxing and looking at Seoul’s glittering lights. I slept like a baby, enveloped in luxurious sheets and pillows. I also appreciated that the room could be pitch-black and perfectly silent if I wanted. The daily clean-up was also done very well - one can see the attention to detail in this hotel. Staff are pleasant and professional. Room service is tasty as well. Location is excellent, with lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again, gladly!

This is a mostly of a review I wrote at the Marriott site. I almost never write reviews but the experience was sublime. The "transcendent" description the hotel gives itself is not an exaggeration. Art Deco inspired with a Korean inflection, echoes of the past while being futuristic. 1920s gilded age service with 2022 technology. Thoughtful art throughout the hotel. Can one fall in love with a hotel? I am smitten at the least. Attentive but not intrusive service with a flotilla of staff beyond what I have seen at luxury hotels even in low-wage economies. Was that 5 people at the entrance or 6? One to open the car, two at the entrance one on each door, a person in the first vestibule to greet me and 2 (or was it 3) beyond at the interior vestibule to direct me to the elevator bank for the check-in reception, and greeting me by name, even though I am not a celebrity! Spotless housekeeping. I think one maid spent 2 hours on my room which was already fairly clean ensuring everything was check-in perfect each day, as I forgot something and returned a couple of times. Some charming quirks in terms of "cleaning" periods for the pool and break times for afternoon tea and coffee lounge that might annoy if the quality were not so good. Slightly confusing tiers to the room categories in terms of which amenities are linked with what room class and more uniform classes than I could track in terms of the staff. Perhaps a clever reference to the golpum "bone-rank" system of the Silla Kingdom, or just a charming Korean flair, every palace has its own unwritten code. Presentation, service and food quality in 1914 Lounge and Bar impeccable, Michelin 2* level. Constans one of the best luxury hotel buffets I have had, buffet does not do it justice even the latte art was the rival of a fine espresso bar. The ranking of customer reviews (even lower on Marriott's own site) does not do this hotel justice which is close to perfection! The only negatives: powder creamer default with in-room Nespresso, Eatanic Garden was fully booked and I wasn't given notice I needed to reserve far ahead, the restaurant menus are not up on the hotel website* so difficult to see pricing or selection in advance, and a small chip in the enamel on the bathtub. I hope they keep renewing the interiors as a palace requires continuous upkeep! *The 1914 has 2 cocktail menus, the detail one with illustrations and descriptions of ingredients is itself a work of art to savor!

My wife and I travelled to Seoul in May to visit our son who has been studying abroad at Hanyang University. I selected the Josun hotel from the Marriott app. A new hotel in a great area of town. Pictures on the web were great and reviews looked good. Wow…. The Josun was so much better than any pictures and the reviews I had seen. This is an AMAZING property and the staff is wonderful. Super kind, attentive, and thoughtful. I am not a big buffet fan, but their breakfast buffet is quite amazing. Their fitness center and pool were also well done. I would highly recommend this property!

Beautiful modern and luxurious hotel in Gangnam. I stayed for 7 nights and the staff made me feel at home. I would definitely stay again when I come back to Seoul. Most outstanding was the Concierge team, particularly Ms. Sally Ji, who made my stay at Josun Palace and visit in Seoul extra special. I had the Grand Masters room and I'm a Platinum member so I had access to the daily breakfast buffet (huge variety of offerings), afternoon coffee/tea/cookie and evening wine service. Room was spacious and had great views of Seoul. All the amenities I needed were there and housekeeping was always quick to respond. Pool, gym and sauna looked really nice but I chose not to use it out of covid precaution. The hotel has been opened for about a year and is located inside the Centerfield East & West Centers where there's an Emart convenience store, pharmacy, restaurants and several coffee shops like Koffee Sniffers & Starbucks Reserve. The neighborhood also has excellent local food like soondae soup, beef sullungtang, noodles, sushi and KBBQ. Easy access to taxi, buses and subway.
